Davik Haize
misguided stars
Davik grumbled something indiscernible to both Talin and Morrow's counter-remarks. Something was stirring a needling sensation in his gut. He shifted postures again, uncrossing his arms and resting one cheek on his palm; the other palm remained wide open, nervously tapping the table.
A protocol droid stopped by their booth, stating it was there to deliver a message. The Mauve crew's reaction was anything but unified. Davik shifted postures again. This time involuntarily. Both hands fell on the edge of the threadbare divan, digits digging into the seams for leverage.
The droid began to glitch; its photoreceptors flickered as if it were about to short-circuit. The ethereal needles poking at his gut were suddenly galvanized, and his life flashed before his eyes.
Davik and Morrow exchanged a glance just for a heartbeat before their legs sent the table flying into the droid. White-hot light swallowed everything. The cantina shuddered as an explosion tore through its foundations. Then, the blinding white saturated into soggy red.
Soggy, blood red.
Everywhere.
