CAPITAL AND URBAN LOCATION DESCRIPTIONS

Moonstone
J9amUI4.jpg
Gleaming in the brilliant sunlight, a City of Marble and Alabaster shimmers upon the shore of the Soundless Bay at the foot of the Spine of the World mountains. Its facade is constructed in a similar manner as those buildings upon Pydyr, with gems of all manner, moonstone, and white gold inlaid within the walls to show the splendor that is the great Capital City of Moonstone. It is a beacon of Law and Order, one of the last bastions of hope from which the Triumvirate of Selun reaches out in its bid to bring order to the chaotic power vacuum left behind in the wake of the Bryn'adul scourge. Vast canals and waterways channel the mountain rivers and springs to the bay of the moon's only ocean, and at night, the city shimmers and shines with a thousand brilliant colors. The City of Moonstone is a safe haven for all, and travelers need not fear walking its streets alone at night.

Silverhold
IVWayTx.jpg
A vast mining town that spans a mighty chasm at the foot of the Spine of the World mountains, its structures build upon and into the sides. Floating islands, both large and small, are kept aloft via repulsor lift engines, while flexible walkways connect these islands to the expanse of buildings on each side. It is from Silverhold that much of the wealth of the Capital flows, its miners delving deep into the chasm and bringing out White Sapphires, Moonstone, and even Kyber Crystals. To maintain its investment and its wealth, the Capital has placed a permanent Security Force garrison in the city to keep order in the region, even as criminal elements from the nearby City of Underdark seek to creep in and skim from the wealth that is produced in the vast mines beneath Silverhold.

Underdark
qIplK2G.jpg
If Mos Eisley is the most wretched hive of scum and villainy in the galaxy, then the vast City of Underdark seeks to give it a run for its money when it comes to holding the title. The city plunges deep into a natural chasm and buildings jut up from its dark nearly endless depths beneath. Much like the vast cityscape of Coruscant, there are levels upon levels of the Underdark, and each level is seemingly held and controlled by one gang or another. The most prominent of those gangs - The Haxion Brood, The Vijilakii Kajidic, Crymorah Syndicate, the Nihil, and the Warbird Gang - are in a constant power struggle as each attempts to overcome the others in claiming the most territory and the city in its entirety. Only a small militia force maintains a semblance of law and order, and even then their power is limited to neighborhoods within the immediate vicinity of the Capital Building.

Kerriaddik
6xtPZ7k.jpg
Twisted among the roots, trunk, and branches of the Grand Father, the City of Kerriaddik is as much a part of the massive Wroshyr Tree as it is of the city. The history of the city and its founding date back to a time when the first Wroshyr Tree was brought to the Moon of Selun and planted on a secluded island. The city was built alongside the growing tree, and it's not uncommon for older abandoned buildings to be left untouched as they are slowly consumed and reabsorbed into the growth of the Grand Father. Its population of Wookiees is known to fiercely guard the tree, as well as protect the vast Wroshyr Forests that are the progeny of the Grand Father.

Lunastella
ljObq6q.jpg
Hidden within the twisting ravines and deep crags of Selun; its location and only accessible route remain secret only to a select few. Its purpose is one of seclusion and safety, a hidden getaway at the edge of the galaxy where few would think to look and fewer still would dare to venture. Lunastella is a gift to its owner from an old friend, meant to serve as a place for Srina Talon Srina Talon to hide away from the galaxy for any number of means and reasons. Reflection, convalescing, training, or relaxing, to name a few - the structure was designed and constructed with a melody of curving and straight lines to draw the eye towards a number of points. It holds amenities that would easily be found on a planet in the Core, as well as a few secret features to provide safety, security, and privacy to its resident.

Twilight Sanctuary
k9hWQji.jpg
Deep within the heart of the Capital City of Moonstone is a Palace that towers over the rest of the cityscape, its facade mirroring the architectural designs and appearance of the ancient Galactic Senate Building on Coruscant and the Naboo City of Theed. The Twilight Sanctuary is designed to appear as a multi-tiered mountain, with each structure along the exterior perimeter serving its own function or housing some governmental or similar organization. The central structure houses various offices, staterooms, and storehouses, while the uppermost rotunda serves as the meeting place for the Ruling Council of Selun. Beneath the structure is a series of tunnels and canals that spread out across the City of Moonstone, often utilized as a means to secret members of the Ruling Council in and out of the city or across the city as a means to keep their identities anonymous.

Yaochi
gdu5BJX.jpg
Deep within the Spine of the World, nestled among the peaks of the North is a secluded home away from home. The structure, reachable only via a personal landing pad, is both a place of relaxation and a mountain fortress with more than enough security to keep safe corporate secrets from those that would seek to steal them. Yaochi, named after an ancient mythological place that served a similar purpose as an abode, is a gift to another ally and individual that would be called friend, John Locke John Locke . The structure contains many amenities that make it the perfect mountaintop retreat and fortress, with security measures ranging from long-range scanners and sensor suites to personalized battle droids programmed to maintain both the perimeter as well as the internal halls and rooms of the facility. Hidden within its base is a sprawling bunker complex beneath the mountain with a myriad of vaults to protect anything of value; corporate secrets, relics, and personal property, to name a few.

Castle Moonstone
uWLDCtQ.jpg
Situated on the mountain cliffs above the Capital City of Moonstone, the massive fortress was constructed towards the end of the Pius Dea Era to serve as a bastion for the city below during a time when the population was fewer than its current size. Castle Moonstone as it was christened, is built on three separate rocky outcroppings, with bridges spanning over the dangerous rivers and waterfalls that pour down the side of the mountain. Though the Moon of Selun has since updated its defensive measures with a focus on orbital stations and defensive platforms, their status as aging and archaic has seen Castle Moonstone being utilized once more for its originally intended purpose; with the Selunite Guard having claimed it as their primary base of operations.

MAJOR PLANETARY LOCATION DESCRIPTIONS

The Grand Father
P4TG8v6.jpg
Of the many Wroshyr Trees that dominate the Eastern Hemisphere of the moon, there is one and only one that is said to be the oldest of them all and thought to have been the original progenitor of the vast Wroshyr Forests. Know simply as 'The Grand Father', the massive Wroshyr Tree sits upon an island in the middle of a small inland sea, its large roots rising above into the sky before plunging into the depths of the water. Waterfalls cascade down the trunk and the roots of the tree from larger pools of water collected higher above in the trunk and canopy. The tree itself is fiercely protected and is home to the Great City of Kerriaddik.

Emerald Flats
ExX5fCH.jpg
Contained by the Soundless Bay to the North and West, and the Spine of the World mountains to the East, the region known as the Emerald Flats is a vast tract of grasslands, rolling hills, and natural flood plains known for its rich soils and verdant native flora and fauna. It is this region that produces the foodstuffs that not only feed the Moon of Selun, it's surplus from bountiful harvests is shipped off-planet as the moon's number one export. Ranches of Staga, Nerf, and Sheep are more common in the Southern Regions of the Emerald Flats where the grasslands and plains begin to give way to the rocky foothills and terrains of the Shimmering Highlands.

Shimmering Highlands
NKp4ni2.jpg
Marking the Southern boundary of the Emerald Flats, the vast region known as the Shimmering Highlands dominates much of the South-Western Hemisphere of the Moon. The area is frequented by individuals attempting to find the next big claim; with abandoned exploratory mines dotting the landscape and in greater frequency closer to the mountains. The region's name comes from the semi-precious and common mineral deposits that are often located close to the surface, their crystalline structures and formations catching the sunlight and shimmering. These same structures and formations also produce a breathtaking effect that can only be seen in the twilight hours as night begins to creep over the surface of the moon; minerals fluoresce and produce a rainbow of colors before fading softly into the darkness.

Kyberite Caverns
iHM5cTW.jpg
Scattered across the Moon of Selun and buried beneath its surface are perhaps hundreds of massive caverns that host vast formations of Kyberite and its close mineral cousin Ranite. In these caverns deep beneath the surface, sprouting in large clusters from the Kyberite is one of the most precious and carefully guarded resources of the Moon of Selun, Kyber Crystals. These chambers are often sought out by the Selunite Watch for the sole purpose of securing them and preventing their exploitation from outside sources to prevent the precious crystals from being secreted off the planet. However, for as many of these chambers that have been discovered and guarded, there are just as many that are still to be discovered or have already fallen into the hands of an enterprising individual or organization.

Argentil Sea
pblzKZ1.jpg
Sea in name more so than in feature; the region is tucked away in a high mountain valley and is known for its vast paddies and ponds that are fed by natural glaciers, mountain springs, and snow packs. The water of these paddies and ponds is so clear that it often reflects the sky and clouds above, giving it a strange sense of a vast sea in the mountains. For this same reason, the area is a well-known tourist spot for those that are willing to brave a rough trek through the mountains as the Ruling Council has declared the region a no-fly zone and limits the number of vehicles that can travel through the fragile mountain passes as a means to protect the local environment.

The Great Divide
L2FUQ1D.jpg
One of the few known means to pass through The Spine of the World mountains, and the most frequently traveled, the region known as the Great Divide is, at times, a twisting channel through the mountains that separate the Moon of Selun in two. The area is home to many mining ventures, both active and abandoned that are often carved into the sides of the pathways, with storehouses, cantinas, and all manner of unmarked settlements and residences tucked away into the dark corners and paths that split away and delve deeper into the mountains. The Selunite Watch maintains a heavy presence in this region, both to protect the prospective mining ventures as well as protect travelers passing through the region.

Nydra's Grove
hmAzmsp.jpg
Hidden deep within the massive canopies of the Wroshyr Trees and the Forests of Selun is a simple grove. Grown during a time when the Yuuzhan Vong were bent on conquering the galaxy and as a means of protecting the ancient Bafforr Trees of Ithor, the grove bears the name of the Ithorian that first transplanted and shepherded the trees to safety in the furthest corner of the Galaxy. Nydra's Grove is home to a small population of Ithorians that have come to the Moon of Selun to protect and watch over the Bafforr Trees from any that would cause them harm. The Grove is also an important meeting place and serves as neutral ground for many that seek to negotiate without the worry of attack.

The Spine of the World
oyCsEh4.jpg
Starting in the low rolling hills and the highlands, these regions slowly coalesce into a series of smaller mountain ranges that themselves form into the massive feature known as The Spine of the World. This mountain range spans the entirety of Selun along the North-South axis, splitting the moon into two halves and keeping the heavily forested Eastern Hemisphere from the flatlands and grasslands of the Western Hemisphere. This naturally impenetrable barrier has also kept the bulk of settlement, building, and infrastructure focused in the Western Hemisphere, leaving much of the Eastern Hemisphere an untouched wildland save for a few scattered settlements and hidden enclaves deep in the Wroshyr Tree and Bafforr Tree forests.

General Planetary Cultural Information
The Moon of Selun can be considered a cosmopolitan moon with a diverse population, largely dominated by humans, and also home to notable populations of Twi'leks, Wookiees, Jawas, and Squibs. Selunites tended to be social, stalwart, and outspoken in their ideals while also maintaining a galactic perspective of cultures throughout the Galaxy. Proud of their history and culture, they usually keep from dismissing cultures from other planets and species. While they often seek to improve their own lives through the accumulation of wealth and self-improvement, as a people, Selunites would not stand for military conquests or thoughts of imperialization.

Displays of status tend to be muted, only showing an individual's wealth or wearing their livery in regard to special occasions, meetings, or formal functions when it was more appropriate to don such attire. During important holidays or ventures outside of the Selia System, individuals might wear family crests or symbols to denote their Selunite Affiliation, though even this was often subtle, such as a signet ring, broach, or embroidered into their clothing. Whereas those affiliated with a specific house, guild, or other notable organization might wear its heraldry emblazoned on their uniforms.

Faith was widely accepted and a number of large, and famous temples could be found in most cities, with a few smaller lesser known shrines scattered about. Most religions were accepted, though certain ones that required an individual to kill or sacrifice a being were frowned upon or outright banned from the Moon; however, some such religions have flown under the radar with their activities hidden within the City of Underdark.

With the establishment of the Ruling Council, a new game has also slowly developed over the last few years, in which citizens of Selun attempt to discover or speculate on the anonymous Lords of the Council. So far, many of the guesses and attempts at discovering their identities have met with negative results as well as a few outlandish claims as well.

As widespread and cosmopolitan as its species, there are a hundred different cultures that one could experience in any city on Selun, and not all can easily be covered.

GOVERNMENTAL AND ECONOMIC INFORMATION
Form of Government:Ruling Council
General Philosophical Alignment:Lawful Neutral
Affiliation(s):Independent
Planetary Wealth:Medium
Societal Stability:Medium
Additional Political, Economic, and Societal Information
Government
The Moon of Selun is governed by an anonymous Ruling Council that oversees the Economy, maintains Security, performs Diplomatic duties, holds Legal Jurisdiction over the Moon of Selun, and exerts its will over the Selia System. A full council is comprised of twenty individuals, though this can vary between sixteen and twenty-nine, with the full number of Councilors being unknown to the public. A Triumvirate of Councilors are the sole individuals of the Ruling Council whose identities are known while the remaining Councilors of the Ruling Council remain anonymous, their identities are only known to each other and the Triumvirate of Selun.
Planetary Wealth Analysis
Once at the center of a vast, burgeoning Trade Network, Selun has seen better days and is slowly on the mend. Its coffers once filled to the brim, had been nearly drained, emptied through greed, embezzlement, and military spending. Its remaining natural resources are closely guarded to prevent further rampant exploitation and destruction of the environment via the introduction of less destructive and intrusive methods of mining and harvesting. With the region slowly recovering, Selun is once again poised to place itself at the center of a Trade Network throughout the Outer Rim Territories and Wild Space to become a Moon of Splendor once more.
Planetary Stability Analysis
Like any planet, Selun is still recovering from countless years of war and a costly conflict against the Bryn'adul. Many of the Cities on Selun are relatively peaceful, and in some locals, such as the Capital of Moonstone, a visiting traveler can safely wander the streets at night without fear of being targeted. Much of the criminal element on Selun is located in the vast City of Underdark, named for its countless levels that delve into the surface and for the multiple criminal organizations vying for control of the City. Even here, however, there are small pockets of resistance, law, and order that remain and seek to keep the common citizenry safe from the continuous gang wars.
Freedom and Oppression Analysis
The Ruling Council maintains a rather loose grip on society so far as the common citizen is concerned, with individuals left to their own devices, the only presence of the Ruling Council can be seen in the robe-clad Magisters who issue rulings on local laws. Crime, to any large degree, has been largely stamped out in the more prominent cities such as Moonstone and Silverhold, with only the City of Underdark boasting any large concentration of criminal activity on the Moon of Selun. The Ruling Council is keen on re-establishing the old Trade Network with Selun at the center, which has resulted in the Ruling Council encouraging and at times, financially supporting the foundation of Guilds and Merchant Houses.

MILITARY AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS
Level of Military Readiness
As manpower reserves slowly replenish, new threats have begun to slowly creep into the Outer Rim Territories or make their way north from Wild Space. Seeking to counter these threats and ensure the safety of Selun both on the planet and off, the Moon has established its own Military Forces while also seeking to repair and update its aging defenses. This has seen the establishment of the Selunite Watch and the Selunite Guard, each with its own jurisdictions and capabilities. The Selunite Watch acts as a localized Law Enforcement Organization, with a strict code of conduct and training, they are deployed within the Cities of Selun and have begun a campaign focused on the City of Underdark to root out its Criminal Elements.

By contrast, The Selunite Guard is a highly trained Military Organization that is tasked with the protection of Selun, the neighboring moons of Selia Prime, and the Selia System as a whole. They are also often utilized to extend the influence of the Moon of Selun to neighboring Systems by providing assistance in dealing with the rising number of Pirates and Raiders in the region. The Selunite Guard is also organized into three separate components which include a Naval Force, Planetary Forces, and Specialized Companies.
The Grey Hand
The threat of the Bryn'adul remains, their twisted creatures no longer constrained by their former hierarchy, their remnants left to nest and ravage what few worlds they may hold, they pose a grievous obstacle to those that seek to resettle formerly lost systems. As a means to assist in combating this threat, the Moon of Selun has established The Grey Hand, a specialized force that is trained to seek out, hunt, and ultimately destroy those Bryn'adul remnants that still thrive on planets within Wild Space and neighboring systems in the Outer Rim Territories. Its members are drawn from the most experienced and skilled individuals of the Selunite Watch and the Selunite Guard, and also includes a cadre of Force Users.
Technological level compared to the Galactic Standard
Technology Level - Space - Galactic Standard
The technological level of Selun is often on par with the wider Galaxy at large, with only the most backwater or secluded territories or claims of Selun having a technological level that is below the Galactic Standard.

HISTORICAL PLANETARY INFORMATION
Located at the far Eastern Fringe of The Slice, the Moon of Selun was originally discovered and settled by Refugees, Dissidents, and Renunciates during the height of the Pius Dea Era. Throughout the remaining years, as more and more individuals were displaced by the Pius Dea Crusades, the population of Selun saw a massive increase as more and more refugees fled towards the edges of the galaxy in an attempt to find someplace that was safe from the Crusades. As the Pius Dea Era began to close out and give way to the Ductavis Era, and peace slowly returned to the Galaxy, the sharp increase of population on Selun began to see a decline, though nothing to such a level that would be alarming. For much of Galactic History, the Moon of Selun was a footnote after its initial discovery and settlement - the citizens were more than happy to remain as such and be left alone by the Galaxy.

By the time of the Clone Wars, the Moon of Selun had become governed by a series of Guilds and Merchant Houses with the moon sitting at the center of a vast Trade Network that spanned across the Outer Rim Territories and into Wild Space. The Clone Wars saw another shift of population as refugees fled from the conflict, often ending up on Selun or passing through its station on their way towards some other planet on the fringe. With the formation of the First Galactic Empire, the Moon of Selun didn't seem to change much or notice the difference between the Empire and the Old Republic and were more than content with whoever was governing so long as they were left alone. Selun's location at the edge of the Slice teetering on falling into Wild Space saw it play host to a minor Imperial Garrison though nothing so large as more strategically important systems.

The vast Trade Network that it had curated and presided over would ultimately prove to be a hindrance as it provided ample vectors for the Gulag Plague to travel along. By the time the Guilds had managed to quit squabbling among themselves long enough to take action, much of the populace had either already died or been exposed to the virus. The Plague alone would see the fall of the Guilds and Merchant Houses more effectively than any action taken during their conflicts. Its proximity to the edge of the Galaxy and the devastation wrought by the Gulag Plague was such that the Moon of Selun had barely recovered to the Pre-Plague population when in a blink of the eye, half of that population disappeared into the Netherworld, once more plunging the Moon into chaos and uncertainty.

Within the last two decades, the Moon of Selun has been struggling; seven years on since the fall of the Bryn'adul scourge and the Moon is only just beginning to recover just in time to face a new threat and slew of challenges. The power vacuum that was left behind by the fall of the Bryn'adul has seen the rise of new regional powers that are proving more and more to be a potential threat to the Moon of Selun. Even on the surface gangs and criminal factions have already taken control of the vast City of Underdark - only to fall into conflict in a vast city-wide gang conflict. The previous government has also fallen, its members having squandered manpower and funds or outright plundered the coffers that a new anonymous Ruling Council has been established to take their place and begin the process anew of rebuilding; putting Selun back on the road to recovery with careful guidance.
