The Meeting

[member="Abigail Selonna"]

Viskis did not know the regulations and rules of landing on Ord Vaug, and his mission had good intent, so he was merely truthful. He told the spaceport registration he was here for an important meeting with an Alliance Member, and didn't try anything sneaky or shady. He did, however, keep his mouth shut on any details if he were to be asked. If any complications arose, he would comply with the Alliances rules, but if things were about to get out of hand, he would rather leave, even with his mission being a failure; he can not arouse too much suspicion or attention. In any case, if the guards didn't detain him, he would have waited outside the space port for the individual he was supposed to be meeting.

Diplomatic wasn't often what she was accused of being, but she was one who followed orders, so she found herself taking a shuttle down to Ord Vaug from her flagship. She supposed she had been picked partially because her fleet had been on rotation to Ord Vaug when whatever this meeting was about came up. Either way, she had been picked and so she was en route.

The message she had received via an encrypted holonet channel had described her contact as appearing in mercenary clothing, so she had decided against mess dress, or even dress uniform. She had nixed a company of marines as well. This was Alliance space, so she'd be fairly safe. Besides, it wasn't as if someone was going to be able to spirit her off the planet with her fleet hanging around.

Dressed in a clean, sharply pressed duty uniform, she deplaned and moved through the spaceport. She wasn't detained or even bothered by security personnel, as the insignia of an Alliance Commodore and the Omega Pyre symbol on either shoulder ensured everyone that she was supposed to be wherever she was. She gained the exit to the Spaceport, then paused as she looked around. She moved aside, so she didn't block access to the doors as she looked for her contact. She spotted him after a moment, a man in very old and torn merc gear. She moved up to him at a slow walk, taking his measure as she did. She didn't believe that appearances were being wholly truthful at the moment, so her guard was up.

Viskis, after noticing someone with obvious prestige and honor all over their uniform, stood up from the wall he was leaning on. He waited to see if they'd approach closer, and when they did, he smirked. "Hey, let me ask you a question. Do you think the One Sith is gonna conquer the Galaxy like the Empire of Old did way-back-when? Even if it's short lived, it'd be a hell of a life, wouldn't it?"

Viskis had an obvious blaster on him, but it didn't seem like it was for fighting, it was more akin to a hold out blaster, probably a last resort. But it was reported that he had a rifle which he was fine with spaceport security holding onto while he was here. Still, the situation didn't feel entirely in the Alliance officials hands, it felt like eyes were watching.

Abigail didn't even look at the blaster, she met the man's eyes and waited for the question. She could feel a stillness in the air, a prickling at the back of her neck that told her that despite appearances, they were not holding this conversation just between themselves. Someone, or several someones, were watching them, and listening to them most likely. The prepared response was becoming much more prudent, in Abigail's eyes.

"The lines are blurred, as always," She paused as if to say more, but waited for what her contact would do next.

Viskis had originally not given the individual full contact or attention, but now she took all of it. He smirked and crossed his arms, looking up at her. "That phrase is pretty dull, isn't it?" he asked, reaching his hand out. "The name's Viskis. I'm here to talk to you about something important. Before we start, a few things; I have agents all around, not to watch you, but to make sure no one is giving interest to us, help me escape if needed, and to report on how this ends up, if I can' t give the report myself. It's unlikely you're under any threat, as long as I don't get hurt. Anyway, a mission that involves saving thousands of lives will come about soon. We would like the Alliance to help, if they can. What we need are crewed ships ready for battle, high risk for high reward. High risk for the boss, you'll catch the enemy off guard, and be able to pull out if the situation goes wrong. It'd ve nice for some sort of alliance afterward, as after the mission, my boss is committing treason against the enemy and creating his own organization from those who join him in leaving. The mission will have his personal ship and two small escorts trying to get nearly 5,000 innocents from the enemys clutches, against a full fleet. If you can help, he'll give you target locations and warp points to hit critical points, what do you say? "

This Viskis person talked fast, but Abigail was able to keep up. She didn't let down her guard, as she didn't know this person from Obi-Wan Kenobi, let alone these mysterious agents. She took him at his word though, if his boss really was about to commit treason against an enemy of the Alliance, and he was willing to talk about it in front of the space port, then he likely had agents making sure they weren't overheard by anyone suspicious.

"Five thousand is a lot of people. I'd like to know who the 'Boss' is, but that truly doesn't matter. The people who want to get away matters. What I need to know, however, is who the mysterious enemy is. I can't give you my word, and by extension the word of the Galactic Alliance, and then have you say one of our allies is this mysterious 'Enemy'." She said in a slow, controlled tone. She was obviously interested in the idea. "Possible intel on an enemy of the Alliance is icing on the cake."

Viskis nodded, taking a more casual stance, coming off as very calm and collected, or having high expectations. "I had to spit all that out quickly, as he can't dilly dally. But while it may be a lot, it'll be even worse and much more stressful when the event actually happens. High risk, high reward. These things need fast thinkers. I can't give you the name of the enemy, but you'll know when the time comes. If I do, I could be linked straight back to the man on top. But I can promise you one thing. This is a freebie the boss said I could give you, one that is worth a lot, that we could have used for convincing, but what he says, goes. This enemy is friends with the First Order, and are not enemies with the One Sith, possible allies to them, even. They give troops and fleets to use for the First Order. A new faction rising up to be a military puppet for those factions? I highly doubt you want a third enemy to fight, controlled by the One Sith. But, we don't know if the One Sith are allies, the boss has overheard some things, witnessed some things, and he doesn't think the secret faction he's part of is going to fire on any One Sith. What is guaranteed is... they are not your friends, and they don't discuss surrender terms over dinner, unless, you're the main course, in a way of saying."

Viskis then shrugged, and leaned back against the wall. "The boss doesn't expect an answer right now, he really expects a holonet message back some time later, long after this meeting, so that the word can be sent to all your higher ups. But don't take too long," he added, "It will start soon, and the temporary help we've got at this moment is not enough to save half of the people trying to run. Depending on how much help you offer, the Boss might just get out of the fight unscathed. You can see why we're so shady right now, and why this meeting had to be like this. We're not doing anything wrong, so that's why I didn't lie to any Alliance Officers. Just respond to the same anonymous message when the time comes (In PM). Now... unless you have anymore questions, I need to get back."

Abigail nodded along with what Viskis had said. If this new faction were allies with the First Order, it was an enemy of the Alliance. She'd take word back to her superiors, along with her opinion. In her mind, five thousand refugees from a faction allied with the First Order were in the balance. She'd suggest overwhelming force, but that was kind of her fortee.

Abigail silently nodded and stepped back, using her arm to signal that she wasn't going to stop him. She had some things to think about before she wrote that report, she wanted to go over the conversation again, for it had gone fairly quickly, but she knew deep down that if any of what Viskis had said was true, and he hadn't lied to any of the security personnel in the spaceport.

Viskis didn't hesitate at all, giving a quick half-assed salute and turning to walk to the spaceport registration desk to get his weapons back and sign out. As he did, it was almost like a play, everyone being in sync with Viskis; several men, over a dozen, in similar garb stood up or started walking from where they were, all casually walking to the space port just as Viskis did. The mission was done, now all they had to do was get home. Over a dozen men may seem like overkill, but with force-users being a potential enemy, and secret enemy operatives, they seriously needed back ups for back ups.

Abigail thought it was almost comical, the number of people that disengaged from their activities and followed after Viskis. The main reason it cause not even a smile was that it led some credence to his story. People didn't spend that much money on getting that many merc security guards onto an Alliance planet just for no reason. She nodded to herself, watching calmly as the area practically emptied. Once Viskis was out of sight, Abigail waited a few minutes, then walked to her shuttle to return to her ship. As the shuttle took off, she tapped her wrist comm to reach the bridge of her flagship.

"Captain, please get me a secure channel to Alliance HQ. I should likely give this report in person." She said with almost cool detachment, then she leaned back into the seat and sighed in relief. Even only so short a time on a planet had raised her stress level a bit, being back in the air, returning to space, calmed her immensely.
