The Mandalorian Union
Who are we?
The Mandalorian Union is a faction formed around the idea of a free and independent Mandalorian nation. At the moment we are a loose gathering of individual Clan's and outsiders, but we are working towards a more centralized, stable nation. We seek to establish a strong base for Mandalorian writers to look into the traditional ways of the Mandalorian culture, offer a place for new writers to become acquainted with both the site and Mandalorians in general, and forge a strong story driven narrative for the aftermath of the Fall of Mandalore, and the efforts to rebuild a scattered people.
Story So Far
So far, the Mandalorian Union has only just begun to process of forming, with only a handful of individuals actually part of the faction. Currently we have a thread underway where we are hunting some scary beasts on Myrkr, and another on the homeworld of an associated Clan, where the Union is currently having a feast. Ya, not a lot down yet, but we are just getting the ball rolling, and we got a lot more ideas in the works for the near future. As time goes on, this area shall be updated and expanded as our writers continue to work together and create a story.
Government, Leadership, Laws
The Mand'alor is the leader of the Mandalorian people, the greatest fighter and unifying force of the Clans. They are the voice of the Resol'nare, and the example that all other Mandalorians can look to. A bastion of stability and strength that can be trusted to lead the people through any dangers. The galaxy has been shown many times that the coming of the Mand'alor is a time of great change and development, and the enemies of the Mandalorian people are right to fear the rise of such a leader.
Sadly we are not there yet.
Until such a time when it makes sense to the story of the Mandalorian Union, the government and leadership of the faction is a much more loose conglomeration of grouchy veterans and young faced hopefuls. Matters of importance will be decided by a majority vote of all members interested in the voting process, while larger organized matters are taken care of by the most senior members and warriors of the Mandalorian Union. By and large, the primary focus is to simply rally and rebuild for the time being, and begin expanding and offering aid to those Mandalorians, or other people in a similar situation as us, in need.
The Resol'nare is the primary code of law followed by the Mandalorian Union, and is used as a foundation when deciding matters of importance. While it is a foundation, it is not a prison for the actions of the Union, and laws and practices will be forged on the anvil of modern times in this regard.
Military
The fun part of things, the military. The Mandalorian Union is currently organized along the lines of a resistance movement, and the military and tactics of the group follow as such. The Union focuses on small group formations, with a high priority placed on rapid mobility and guerrilla tactics to handle a galaxy full of enemies far larger and more numerous than it. We cannot challenge enemy armies on the field, so we instead focus on ensuring the armies never make it to the field. The elimination of high ranking individuals, the destruction of supply lines, and the creation of havoc all suit the methods of the Mandalorian Union.
The naval focus of the Mandalorian Union resembles that of the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. While planets are used as bases and rallying points, the Union believes in the practice of constant relocation of valuable assets and individuals aboard a fleet. The primary method of naval combat focuses on hit and run tactics, and when necessary, the bringing of overwhelming force onto a single, exposed enemy asset.
Long Term Goals
In the long term, the Mandalorian Union seeks to establish a strong, unified military front and organized nation against a galaxy seemingly hostile to Mandalorian independence. We want to work with other Mandalorian faction here on the site to detail the struggles and plights the Mandalorians face in modern times here on the site, as well as how they all work to handle it. We also wish to craft a compelling, fun, and ever growing story of how a people returned from the brink of total destruction, and came back to pay back all those who thought they could kick Mandalorians while they were down. We wish to see a new Mand'alor chosen to lead the Mandalorian Union, with the eventual end goal of retaking Mandalore itself, and rebuilding the homeworld of all Mandalorians.
