The Magnificent...... Six?

CORUSCANT MEETING ROOM

The Chancellor of the Republic had been surprised when he heard the news, not only had the jedi's campaign with the Republic against the sith been successful pushing into Sith space while they prepared and protected from possible attacks by the Sun's in an attempt to reclaim what territory they believe is theirs. Once the reports from Serenity came in though that she had been able to download the Imperial Navy specs and designs. It had been quite a surprise added to the capture of the Emperor for him to face trial for his many crimes.

The list of all the ships and designs came about as he looked them over. They could do plenty with this information for what it was worth to fight the empire that seemed to be crumbling. Almost like it had a glass jaw compared to the other groups in the galaxy and that... Wasn't a bad thing it meant they could do plenty with it and finding weakness to deal with the ships of the Imperials that would be scattered across the fallen empire. If warlords arose they'd be using the ships and all fatal flaws would be theirs to exploit.

That was why he had contacted two members of the Republic who were known for their ship workings. The owner of the long standing Kaut Driveyards and one women he had never really met but based on Beswin she was someone to meet hopefully. He gave a smirk though as he sent out the invitations and prepared to make the second one for Alli Wren a prominent and upstanding member of the Republic who had helped out quite a lot with her network connections and stepped up to help make one of the more impressive ships in the Republic. The heavily gunned Watts class.

He debated to call in the newly acquired Dominion, their ships were something that would be discussed as well and he was eager to let their input come in. Despite some of the more impressive perhaps a group project to rewirk and prepare some of the ships for more enemy forces they might be facing. It all came down to what the war effort turned into and what was going to be coming afterwards. The diplomatic approach had worked with several groups it seemed and that kept them from being attacked while dedicated to the downfall of sith oppression.

Believe it or not, it wasn't the first time a Chancellor had asked to see him. This time, however, he wasn't being asked to drive a hyperlane into the Unknown Regions - a lane which he'd taken to Trevel'ka and Ilum, but no farther, due to Chiss complications (at a very tidy sum). This time, apparently, it was about ships.

He knew ships. He liked ships. From time to time, having married the finest shipwright in the galaxy, he designed a few himself. Ugly things like the Washburn, the Tempus Ardet, the tramp freighters that filled the Outer Rim -- and the HALCYON space trains that connected many, many worlds.

The man in the battered spacer clothes was probably going to be the richest one in the room.

"Chancellor," he said with a nod and a level gaze, taking a seat. "I ain't been here since Serifen had me over for tea. Thanks for the invite. What can I do for you?"
@[member="Jack Harkness"]

Alli Wren appeared with her usual fanfare. She was wearing a tight and revealing black dress, one that left just enough to the imagination that she was sure to catch everyone's eyes. Alli liked to make sure that her wealth showed, and thus her designer dress and jewelry made sure that everyone knew. Business was booming since she had found her way back with the republic for building an even more useful ship than her first. Business had been very good of late. With this news, well that meant things were going to be even better.

She approached the Chancellor, " Greetings, I have been longing to meet you. I have heard so much about you and when you approved my bid for the watt's class, I couldn't believe it. " She said, it being one of her bigger contracts.

It wasn't so long ago that Queen Lorelei Darke had taken visit to Coruscant. Her lunch meeting with the Kuati Senator Alena Beswin had been short, delicious, and fruitful. War was upon the Republic which meant they needed ships, and with her Senator now heading the very committee that would make the decisions pertinent to ship acquirement, that meant the KDY was busy filling orders.

Quite busy.

The CEO arrived in pristine royal Kuatian gown of black, red and gold. Form fitting but modest with the cover of a matching black traveling cloak she wore overtop, the only skin it revealed was that of her hands and face. She swept into the conference chamber, soundless, and delivered a curt nod to the group as a whole. Just as she had on Corellia, the woman moved with an entourage of Kuati Royal Guards who stationed themselves at either side of the entrance. Her personal Noghri body guard shadowed her across the room, pulling her seat and taking a stance to her left. Her assistant and Director of Operations, DiVanca Leonardi, took the seat to her right. Green eyes surveyed the faces in attendance, immediately recognizing Alli Wren from Baktoid. Jorus Merrill was less familiar, though no less important to have warranted an invite.

Issuing a greeting to the Chancellor, Lorelei said nothing more seeing the other two already invested in an exchange of words with the man. No need to interrupt.

@Alli Wren @Lady Silencia @Jorus Merrill

He had hoped the others would show but in truth perhaps this was wanting to much. With a look at his Chrono Jack let a hiss of air out through his teeth while taking in the sight of Alli Wren, Jorus and Lorelei Darke. It was something to behold having two of his big shipwrights and one of the biggest makers of 'tramp' frigethers in the galaxy. He was more then happy to get the mans opinion on what they had gotten as well as you him to balance and keep the females from ganging up. He could take the heat. "Alright I had hoped the Lord Protector and Queen of the dominion would be joining us but don't want to dally I know each of you are very busy."

He stood for a moment and tapped a datapad as the image of Dac and the shipyards appeared. "Recently in the war campaign against the empire we had a success. The siths Emperor was captured by the jedi and is en route to stand trail publicly. After his crimes are tried and I am hoping a guilty verdict he will be transferred to the pit. That is the public's news of what happened at Dac, there was another thing. A small group of the G.I.A. managed to sneak aboard the shipyards during the fightng and upload the designs and files of the entire Imperial navy. They escaped before the Black Sun fleet arrived and destroyed the shipyards thankfully but..."

He trailed off as the image flicked through design specs of the Acerbatis. "This was a prize and why I brought you all here. You all have a set of skills that can benefit this room. I want these taken apart, every ship down to the last nut and bolt for flaws and weaknesses. All ships have them and with the way the war is going we might be able to use these notes to end fights before they start." He then looked over to Alli Wren and spoke. "Then I want counter measures, ways to get past their ships, the empire seems to be weakening but when empires fall all that comes are warbands. Ones trying to be the new top dogs. They'll most likely use whatever they can scavenge and I'd prefer that a beast this size. Not be in the hands of a common soldier with a grudge."

A large purple battle cruiser slowly reared up into Coruscanti airspace. It did not dock, rather it merely hovered high up past the clouds in the upper atmosphere and forth from it fell a flight of smaller craft; namely Ventus fighters and a single chromed Languor. While the Ventus squadron merely played the part of escort, only the Languor occupied by the queen and a single red LAAT/r landed. A good ten or so personal MRD Royal Guards clad in distinctly purple TJR-01 Assault armor and armed in electro-vibro-khopesh and AUG blasters guarded the two craft, while four of those ten escorted the Ankai herself.
Alachei herself had been wearing only her typical, mildly revealing under-outfit curtained by an open heavy, black robe trimmed in electrum and embroidered in purple diamond brocade. Rather than a crown, she wore a one-of-a-kind headdress almost horn-like in nature, with a large gemstone in its crest. Her two sabers, Mourning Star, sat at her hips and little but a few personal belongings on her person.
"Chancellor..." she nodded, "A shame we could not fulfill our earlier meeting due to unforeseen circumstances. I have been quite busy as of late, I hope I have arrived relatively on schedule. If you will...."
The again-Ankai curtsied, then simply leaned towards the back wall of the room with her arms crossed under her breasts, purple incandescent eyes locked on but one person with no need to scroll over anything else inquisitively. It was the look of someone with absolute conviction, confidence and wisdom.

Jorus did not possess absolute conviction, confidence, or wisdom, unlike some present, but he did have...

Well, he knew what he was talking about, and didn't intend to talk about more than he knew.

"I've done business with Sienar for years," he said, "and watched the Rebel Alliance blow up enough of their ships to tell you what we're lookin' at. Kuat made the Pellaeon Two, an' the old Invictus, Beezlebub, an' Avarice, so I won't speak to those."

Scratching his chin, he brought up a really unholy amount of data gleaned from the...interactions...he'd mentioned, and began comparing it with the data Harkness had provided. "Let's start at th'top, just initial impressions to get us started. Tulak Hord-class. Respectable guns, iffy structural integrity except for the turadium 'round the bridge and shield generators. Pretty decent ground assault and fighter capacity. That structural integrity's the only major flaw, an' that's just 'cause the ship's too narrow. Otherwise, it's a pretty balanced kind of thing, covers a lotta bases that earlier ships left uncovered. Oh, and one other thing, might call it a flaw -- once you get the shields low, they don't recharge worth clart. Tradeoff for havin' the generators so well-armored.

"Ranator's a bit of a piece of crap. That hull shape's fragile as all feth. It's got way less guns than a Tulak, maybe double the fighters, doesn't have the crazy comms and coordination center -- you'd think they'd have kept that from the Tulak, which was designed to coordinate whole invasions. Ranator...man, it's like someone never heard of non-combative attachments.

"Charon's obsolete every which way you can swing it. Old fighters, terrible guns. It's just big, really big. Good planetary invasion ship, fething terrible in a slugging match unless you're willing to try and ram. Hull shape's as fragile as the Ranator, maybe more so. A good ram from dorsal or ventral would shatter the whole thing or punch right through.

"Interdictine is eighteen kinds of worthless. No real guns, no real fighters, just the grav wells of two four-hundred-metre cruisers. Sluggish as a ship of the line. Flawed concept through and through, but good salvage.

"XoXaan is a good slugger at range, not bad up close, can't really operate alone. It outguns most assault ships its size, an' those light quad turbos are a beast. It can use'em to boost its anti-capital game, but they're on fastmounts, like the old Dreadnought-class ships -- they're meant for anti-fighter. Plus a good contingent of point-defense. Weaknesses? No warheads, zero small craft at all. It's an escort, meant to let'em stretch out operational life for the Charon.

"Sadow-class has about what you'd expect from guns, maybe a bit less. Carries about, let's see -- yeah, thirty fighters, which is good an' plenty for a ship that size. No standard squadron deployments, an' that's something people have been able to exploit. Plus those droid fighters are crap. Taral's still a good ship, but we'll get to that. Sadow's also another fragile one.

"Bandon-class is a XoXaan minus the big guns, tryin' to be flexible and do everything at once. Its fighter complement is all kinds of whacked out.

"Anyway. That's my take on the ships of the line."

Larraq had been trying to communicate with representatives of the Republic for a few hours now. At least, his secretary was. He was in his office with a bottle of whiskey by his side and his feet propped on his desk. Talyn, his pet vornskr, happily chewed at a femur in the corner of his office while Larraq drank away the lingering guilt he had at destroying Dromund Kaas. Destroying a ship and killing her crew was part of war. So was murdering the population of a fleet. Even the destruction of a military base was worth the collateral damage of any nearby civilians that happened to get caught up in the battle. It was simply a part of war. And it was something that the Mandalorians had done for thousands of years.

But what Larraq had done was excessive. Even by Mandalorian standards. Some praised him as a brilliant hero that had won the day and helped to topple an empire. Others denounced him as a monster and a war-criminal. Larraq's only real salvation was that he was relatively unknown outside of the Mandalorian Territories and the Mand'alor was helping him keep the name of the Mandalorian Admiral a secret. Thousands throughout the galaxy wanted to know who had given the order and who had invented the plan. The truth was that no order was given. And the Mand'alor would not reveal the names of Mandalorian tacticians.

Politically speaking, it was already becoming quite the mess. And as Larraq sipped at the whiskey in his glass, he knew that what he needed was for this call to go through. He needed to help rebuild the image of the Mando'ade in the eyes of the galaxy. And he needed to help rebuild his own image in the eyes of the few Mandalorians that knew what he had done. And so, he was reaching out to the Republic. Not as a diplomat and not to apologize for his actions. He was reaching out as a businessman with something to sell. What he needed most was to improve the strength of his company, improve the wealth of his clan, and to increase the value of the Mandalorian credit. He would build bridges and create jobs for his people. And soon they would forget about the actions of an unknown commander in the heavens above Dromund Kaas. He may even commission a monument or orphanage be built on Dromund Kaas to help improve the galaxy-wide view of the Mandalorian people...

He was quietly pouring himself another glass of whiskey when his secretary chimed in. "Our call is being rerouted, sir. Apparently you've been asked to weigh in on a... some form of technical discussion."

"Who exactly will I be speaking with?" Asked Larraq as he removed his feet from his desk and sat up strait. The bottle of whiskey was shoved into a drawer under the desk and Larraq straitened his uniform a bit.

"Chancellor @[member="Jack Harkness"] and company." Answered the secretary.

<Time to make some money.> Thought Rygel Larraq to himself as he waited for the Republic representative to answer the call. He had no idea what sort of technical discussion would involve the supreme chancellor of the Republic, but Larraq had every intention of ending the discussion with a signed contract and a very expensive bottle of whiskey.

Harkness sat there as Jorus weighed in and each one of those ships he spoke about were something interesting. he wasn't going to deny that right now as they went on. He could use more and more tactical insight like that. The design specs of it all and the options for ways to counter it more then enough. He would have to work with engineers to go to the nitty gritty but a smile came to his face. "Thank you Jorus for that and it will all be helpful. There is more to get through and hopefully the Lord Protector will be joining us. His input and working out ways to deal with enemies of our territories will be something."

Then he heard the beeping and spoke activating the display as he spoke offering a smile. "Ah hello, I suppose we should say welcome to the meeting. We were just discussing ships and I do believe your company makes several models we would like."

Larraq was momentarily taken aback by the openness of the Supreme Chancellor. He would have thought the man would have held his cards a little closer to the table. But then again, when you lead a nation as strong and wealthy as the Republic, why bother with subterfuge and haggling?

"Supreme Chancellor @[member="Jack Harkness"], it is a pleasure to be speaking with you. It appears you have me at a bit of a dissadvantage though. Who exactly is this 'we' you're referring to?" Larraq asked as he quickly pulled up a product catalog on his datapad and began opening support documents on each of his major product. From the sound of things, the Republic was planning something. Whatever it was, and wherever it would be taking place, it would either be a cause for concern or a business opportunity. What Larraq now had to do was discover which or the two it was and where the Republic's plans would be taking place. "Were there any ships in particular you had your eye on Mr Chanceller? Perhaps if you told me more about the needs of the Republic, I could better provide you with the right tool for the job.'

Green eyes following the progression of the discussion, Lorelei found them planted upon the man known as @[member="Jorus Merrill"]. There was a certain sense of appreciation in her gaze for his apparent vast knowledge of the listed ships and she pondered momentarily bringing him in for similar discussions. Plans to make for another time. Her attention rounded on the two new arrivals.

She waited, patiently as ever, for the Chancellor to finish with @[member="Captain Larraq"] before leaning forward in her seat, "Chancellor Harkness, in an effort to keep us on task for what we all came here to discuss and to prevent further loss of precious time, please excuse me while I reroute this conversation away from your private business of sales and purchases." The Queen's eyes drew level with Harkness, unyielding as ever, and did not waver even as DiVanca pushed forward a datapad. Fingers tracing across several keys, the Head of Operations of the KDY brought up a display of the remaining ships not detailed Jorus.

"These models are ancient by current standards and have seen several significant upgrades since their creation. As I have come to find, The Empire was a sentimental lot. Rather than discard outdated material and recycle it for the construction of new, they prefer to alter and upgrade. At the very base, their flaws are inherent with any old design. I won't sit here and list them all to you verbally, as impressed as I am by Merrill's ability to do this, but I will see that my teams fill a report and have it to you as soon as possible. I expect they will be very thorough. We can work out details at a later date on seeing to it that the Republic is outfitted with the latest ship tech that will ensure those weaknesses are fully realized and taken advantage of in future encounters."

The CEO of Kuat Drive yards and the envy of the shipbuilding world. The only one who rivaled that of Sinear. Alli looked upon the face of the very company every ship builder in the galaxy compared themselves to. But if one was to look at the size of the companies here, it was fairly obvious which ones were worth anything.
" Aye as pointed out there is no question there are flaws, it is more are you willing to ensure that current and future vessals are fitted to exploit them I of course wish you hesitance, you have other enemies, you shouldn't focus your offense on the tech of one. I am sure we are all more than willing to change our ships and work with you. The question is the Republic prepared to pay us to do so. I will have a contract drawn up in the hour, You sign and forward us the plans and I will ensure that their specs are taken in to consideration on all current and future projects with the Republic and my company and I am sure the others are more than willing to do the same thing, so shall we stop discussing what I will just let the men I pay do for me and agree to agree?"
Alli smiled and too a sip of whatever drink an aide had given her. She wanted to get a chance to talk to woman who's very presence attracted Alli to this room. She had never had the chance to be in the same room before. That would be something that needed to be rectified.

Harkness turned from Larraq and looked at Lorelei then Alli and Jorus with a nod of his head. "Yeah there is more to talk about and focusing on one of our enemies will be needed. Based on what we found and acquired from the Dominion a large amount of sith ships were sold off or traded to them. Monitoring the former reaches of sith space will take time and that is where Baktoid with the Driveyards come in. Thanks to your frontier outposts Ms Wren we have a base to build upon to monitor Coruscant and with Jorus here I want someone who can disperse and scatter any artifacts that might be found or remain. We are not storing them in one place like the jedi did that can be broken into. Mister Merrill I want them lost however you and the queen are going to be needed for hiding it all while we setup for a watch tower over Korriban." He looked at them all and pressed another button to bring up a station

@[member="Jack Harkness"]

"Chancellor, if you need Dark Side artifacts lost, I've got two dozen boltholes, used and unused, everywhere from Companion Grek to Firefist to the Deep Core to the Unknown Regions. I won't pretend as it's not a risky job, but I understand those risks, and Silk can ensure that those things get buried confidentially. I'll take'em out on a burner ship, make the jumps without a navicomputer, find places nobody's ever been or can get -- places where the Force is messy enough to keep visions or farsight from findin'em."

"I have a contact that I can bring in to aid Mr. Merrill in that particular endeavor. A specialist of Force artifacts - admittedly I've lost contact with him but he shouldn't be too hard to find. The mere mention of the things will bring him out of hiding."

The Queen glanced to her Director and with nothing more than a subtle nod the woman was at work with her datapad. Given the dissemination of what was likely a great deal of the Empire's knowledge and secret powers, it would do well for the Republic to put an end to those mysteries. Especially if they had any hope of surviving what was the inevitable resurgence of the Sith. Lorelei's eyes narrowed for but a moment in silent contemplation, her mind churning over the many dark faces that might lead such a rebirth. It could be any of their countless numbers, perhaps even some she knew personally. The woman made a mental note to fill her schedule for the upcoming months with assessing her old acquaintances and preparing for what was to come.

For now her attention turned to the holoprojection of the space station, intrigued by its purported presence over Korriban. She doubted it would be enough to keep raiders at bay. If anything, it might sit as a welcoming beacon.
