As part of Ar'ekk Daesharacor's attempt at recovering Old Republic history by unearthing, mantaining and collecting articles dating back to that age he came about the lightsaber of Darth Nihilus.
Known as the Lord of Hunger for his incredible yet menacing connection (or lack of) connection with the Force, Darth Nihilus was a renowned Dark Lord of the Sith and part of the infamous Sith Triumvirate that once conquered the galaxy.
Ar'ekk encountered this particular lightsaber thanks to a black market vendor on the planet of Lithios, where he currently resides and being sold for a mere amount of five hundred thousand credits.
Without thinking it twice and making sure it was an authentic piece, the Je'daii himself completed the purchase and put the relic back with the rest of the items on his collection which includes The Ebon Hawk itself and Darth Malak's lightsaber.
