The Lies of The Father

B A R D O T T A

He had been here before, many years ago in a different life. The windswept cliffs that allowed for long flowing mist clouds to sit like blankets across a wild landscape. It was indeed a natural wonder for all who took steps upon the planet. Such beauty harboured a powerful and peaceful retreat, a Monastery that housed the Dagoyan Order, housed upon a single rocky island accessible only at the lowest of tides.

Usually silent due to the meditation of the Halsoun Monks within the monastery was known for its calming presence within the Force, for its purpose as a place of protective thought and insight. Today however, since he had made his way across the exposed sand into the ancient temple was anything but silent.

“You cannot do this!” A elder Bardottan shouted from the far side of the room, his body crumpled against the cold stone wall. “This is a place of peace and education.” His pleas would go unheard. For the dark robes of another, this time human form came into the middle of the room, dragging another Bardottan with him by the neck of his simple robes. The alien had streams of panic coming from his face as he was thrown down hard at the very centre of the room and made to kneel.
“TELL ME!” The man screamed, his mask ripping his voice into a daemonic visage. “TELL ME NOW!”
“I…I cannot.” The Bardottan sobbed before with a spark of angry red his life was ended in a single aggressive swing.
“YOU!” The man pointed towards another of the Bardottan of the Dagoyan Order and dragged him right to where the previous still lay. “You will tell me.”
“This is a temple of peace and meditation.” The Bardottan said as he swallowed the obvious fear. “You are tainting it.”
“Then tell me where they are.” The masked man knelt down before the monk who flinched ever so slightly. “Tell me and I will stop.”
“Okay. Let me see into your eyes.” A hiss announced the removal of the mask that covered the beings face, two hands steadily lifting it from his visage. “You…”
“You remember. Now tell me where they are.”
