The Leadup

The plan is for this event to have a couple of leadup threads which will hopefully gain some interest amongst members and position the new characters we'll be using for the event.

The basic idea is two parts:

  1. First, a battle between Galactic Alliance and One Sith forces leads to a valuable piece of information being acquired. This information relates to the massive amount of materials and personnel seeming to vanish into the outer rim. The stage is set for the next mission.
  2. The GA and allies launch a strike at the co-ordinates, but find it is merely a staging post for the next leg of the journey. Massive freighters are being loaded with people and materials and vanishing into space. As they attack though a massive Sith fleet appears and drives back the Alliance forces before themselves vanishing. However, the Alliance manages to capture information about a codename Omega in a hitherto unknown system….

That’s the basic concept, but I’m very open to suggestions on how to improve this. Perhaps a One Sith traitor or captured prisoner could yield the intel? Maybe a demonstration of the weapon at the end would be useful to show its power.

Thoughts?

I like the demonstration of the weapon at the end. Maybe the weapon is operational but barely (similar to the Death Star II) and manages off a single (or a couple) of shots to devastate the GA task force, thus contributing to the withdrawal. This also adds to the threat of the project and can serve as a propaganda point for the GA to rally more forces and involve the rest of the galaxy.

That's a good idea. It's a good way to show case the power of the superweapon, too. A demonstration of sorts. Blowing up the planet can also cause significant delays for finishing construction of the superweapon, thus buying the Galaxy some time to respond.

We could also combine the two ideas. Blow up the planet, blow up a few ships, superweapon is now completely discharged and needs to retreat. Or something of that nature.

It works as an IC reason for why the Omega isn't deployed immediately.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] Let me know when the lead up thread is at a point where Kith requiring a demo is needed. I'll start meandering her in that direction in my next post.
