Open to another appropriate warrior (doesnt have to be a mando)

Several of the beaches on world had been declared off limits since the attack by the jellyfish monsters rendering them unusable for the holiday season. The authorities would get to it eventually, there was a committee already established to deal with it. But some businesses were getting anxious about lost tourist income and were beginning to take matters into their own hand.

Sakura was one of two warriors that had taken this contract issued by Atoll a security and insurance conglomerate that many of the resorts had signed up to for this sort of problem. Well, maybe not this exact kind of problem. But "Atoll protected" was a pretty clear and umabigous slogan. The beaches had been cleared of tourists and staff and the contractors had been given a one mile stretch of fenced off beach to make sure nothing else was going to disrupt the season. Sakura looked over at the other contractee as she checked her assault rifle and the various coloured grenades attacked to her belt. Her tail rocked gently back in forth in simulated anticipation.

"You ready for this Vod-san?" she said in her effervescent voice as she unlocked the safety and all the lights on her rifle went green. She looked out of the Cabana, the sand was white. The sky was blue and the sun was shining, other than the few corpses already littering the AO it looked idyllic.

The monsters were coming, the surf was stirring, and the Cherry Fox of Mandalore was ready to engage them and make her pay day.

The soft hiss of a mag-lock disengaging cut beneath the sound of surf.
Korda Veydran stood half-shadowed beneath the cabana, helmet hanging from his belt, the weight of it familiar against his hip. In his hands rested the Ashen Maw. He thumbed the side housing open, slapped a fresh maga, and cycled the fire selector with deliberate clicks. Each setting blinked acknowledgement across the weapon's status strip before settling into standby.

A thin ribbon of cigar smoke drifted lazily toward the bright sky beyond the shade.
He gave a low, amused rumble at Sakura's enthusiasm.
"Vod-san," he repeated, the corner of his mouth twitching faintly. "You sound like this is a festival."

He took one final drag, then pressed the ember out carefully against the duracrete post rather than discarding it. The stub vanished into a sealed pouch at his belt. Waste offended him.

A flask appeared in his hand instead. He tipped it slightly toward her.

"For courage. Or patience."
Whether she accepted or not, he took a measured sip before resealing it and sliding it away.

"I wasn't well briefed," he continued, eyes narrowing toward the restless surf. "Standard procedure for my contracts. Usually I am sent to silence traitors or retrieve those who believe distance makes them safe."

His tone was flat. Matter-of-fact. Beachside extermination duty clearly ranked below ideological purges.
He glanced down at the pale sand, then back to the rolling water.

"I prefer cold. Snow in the mountains. Sound carries better. Blood steams."
A pause.
"This is… humid."

The Ashen Maw locked back onto its magnetic mount across his back with a solid clack. He rolled his shoulders once, stretching the weight of his armor into place before moving through his ritual: charges checked and reseated along his belt, detonators tapped and confirmed, shock gauntlets flexed until blue arcs snapped briefly across his knuckles.

Satisfied, he retrieved his helmet and turned it slowly in his hands.

"May the Destroyer watch our steps."
The surf churned harder now. Dark shapes stirred beneath the glittering surface.
Korda's voice dropped into something quieter, steadier.

"Let them come."

"For courage. Or patience."

"For the ancestors" she replied with a nod. "Simple mission, we kill anything that moves.

Just dont let the jellyfish get you... they're nasty ones. The people they have already taken are beyond help."
she half pulled the trigger on her gatling blaster causing it to spin up for a few seconds before stopping. There were hundreds of people taken, up and down the coast, the caused carnage before retreating back into the sea, only showing their slowly decaying faces again once the tourists felt it safe.

"Lets GO!" She turned towards the beach with her large fuzzy tail following her movements. As she ran, the first few of the targets broke the waves and she periodically stopped and fired shots from her gatling in single fire mode. She was a good enough shot and the single rounds took out a couple of their foes.

"So. What toys did you bring to the party?" she asked her ally as a third creature went down to a shot to its chest. Her head twisted and she looked at the first that she had downed and he appeared to be clawing back to his feet. The fish on his back still pulsating, and even with the chunk she had blown out of its shoulder, it wasnt done with them. "err... rude."

The thing clawing its way upright didn't get the chance to finish the motion.
A thunderous crack split the air behind Sakura.

The round from the Ashen Maw struck the creature center mass a fraction of a second later. The high-explosive slug detonated inside the torso, turning the upper half of the corpse into a violent cloud of sand, bone fragments, and shredded flesh that splattered across the surf behind it.

What remained collapsed in a wet heap that twitched once… and did not rise again.
Korda's laughter rolled across the beach as he strode out from the cabana's shade.

"Correction," he called after her, the Ashen Maw already barking again. Another round shattered a second creature climbing from the waves, the impact tossing the body backward into the surf like driftwood.

"I brought enough."
The weapon cycled again with brutal efficiency. Each shot struck like a hammer from the sky, explosive slugs ripping apart anything foolish enough to crawl onto the sand.

A third target lurched forward. The round caught it low in the torso.
It disappeared.
Korda moved steadily behind Sakura, the heavy rifle resting comfortably in his grip as if it weighed nothing at all. The beach thundered with each shot, chunks of sand kicking into the air as jellyfish-ridden corpses were blasted apart before they could close distance.

He gave a satisfied grunt.

"Your turn."

His free hand dipped briefly to his belt.
Three compact detonators landed in the sand in a staggered line as he advanced past them.
The Ashen Maw snapped back against the magnetic mount across his back with a solid clack.
Blue light snapped across his gauntlets as the shock emitters spooled to life.

Korda rolled his shoulders once, eyes bright beneath the shadow of his brow.
The next creature staggered toward him through the surf, its dead face slack while the pulsing parasite on its spine writhed like a grotesque crown.
The Mandalorian stepped forward to meet it.
Electric arcs cracked violently across his knuckles.
"Now," he said almost pleasantly, "we do this properly."
