The Jen'Vi'kas

"True power, by its very essence, comes from the most complete and highest understanding and use of the Dark Side."

The Jen'Vi'kas are a collective of dark side prophets, dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and use of the Dark Side. Theirs is the path of power through study, experimentation and then perfection of the Dark Arts. As advanced practitioners of rituals, alchemy, spells, mystical arts and prophecy, the Jen'Vi'kas wield considerable power by most Sith standards.

The primary purpose of the Jen'Vi'kas is to provide power and understanding for the Sith Empire in areas of the Dark Arts. This includes performing support roles in conquests and times of war, such as Battle Melding or Battle Meditation, or assisting in the creation or unlocking of powerful relics or imbued items, or providing supplementary forces in the form of powerful illusions, wraiths or Sith phantoms. Additionally, the Jen'Vi'kas serve the Emperor and the Sith Empire in ways involving foreseeing prophecy, creation or taming of beasts and enhancing Force powers.

It also falls on the Jen'Vi'kas to perform other tasks involving the Force and the Dark Side, as determined by the Emperor.

Members of the Jen'Vi'kas are, at their fundamental self, intelligent and curious individuals. The study of the Dark Arts is not for the weak, and the danger of being unprepared can result in a fate worst than death. Unlike the more martial pursuits, delving into the deepest recesses of the Dark Side requires a strong mind, an iron will, the confrontation of fear and no hesitation - for without conquering fear, and truly giving ones self to the abyss of the power of the Force, the hesitant will falter and be lost. One cannot simply replace a lost limb, like when having missed a lightsaber parry, when the chaos and depravity of the Dark Side has hollowed one's mind and devoured the body...

Truly, there is reason that some of the most powerful Sith to exist in the universe have been powerful practitioners of the Dark Arts; for with that supreme level of power comes an equal threat of risk.

A hierarchy is used for the Jen'Vi'kas, giving a title and position based on capabilities and understanding of their field of study. The elevation of any lesser Prophet is an important event, as a test must be completed - with failure meaning either death or exile - and is determined by a small council of High Prophets, to avoid claims of favoritism or corruption. Following the successful completion of the elevation rite, the newly christened Jen'Vi'kas member is given a new mark on the forearm and takes his/her new placement alongside fellow brothers and sisters of the Dark Arts.

Those that fail the elevation rite are either killed (usually by their own failures) or exiled by the Supreme Prophet.

The Jen'Vi'kas have five levels of ranking, including specific titles, which are:

The Inner Circle is the highest station within the Jen'Vi'kas, and is typically attained by only the most dedicated High Prophets, wherein they are led by the Supreme Prophet. There may only ever be one Supreme Prophet, with replacement only occurring due to death or self-exile from the order, and it is his/her responsibility to ensure that the Jen'Vi'kas are performing their purpose to the Sith Empire, and that training and development are proceeding as expected. The Supreme Prophet is also responsible for elevating members of the order into higher ranking circles.

In times of conquest or war, the Supreme Prophet acts as a Battle-Mage, providing command of the Jen'Vi'kas prophets and conveying orders from the Emperor to the Jen'Vi'kas contingent. And concerning the Jen'Vi'kas in all rulings and decisions, the Supreme Prophet has final say. He/she does, however, utilize a Small Council, which have been hand-selected by the Supreme Prophet, to deliberate and act as a voting triumvirate in times of need.

Fourth Circle forearm symbol

The Fourth Circle is reserved for the highest members of the Jen'Vi'kas, composed of High Prophets who are capable of performing great feats of power and Dark Arts. The High Prophets are tasked with training Lesser Prophets in experimenting and perfecting all manner of rituals, spells and alchemy, developing the order in power and status among the Sith Empire.

The Dark Arts skills and powers of the High Prophets are considered some of the highest of the Jen'Vi'kas order, if not the Sith Empire itself. It has taken numerous years of dedication, sacrifice and willpower to reach this rank, and to master the arts involved with reaching such a position. As such, respect is due by all members of the Jen'Vi'kas.

At any time, a High Prophet may take a Lesser Prophet as his/her personal pupil, to hone their development and train them in preparation of becoming a High Prophet; but this is in addition to maintaining overall Jen'Vi'kas training for all members of lower rank.

Third Circle forearm symbol

The Third Circle is composed of Prophets, who are a high number of the Jen'Vi'kas order. They are Sith that have shown high potential and are capable of performing impressive Dart Arts skills and abilities. This is where personal capabilities are truly recognized, and status gained by willingness to develop and grow in more abilities and powers. Prophets are very capable of utilizing their powers, and while not to the level of High Prophets, are still serious threats to their opponents.

All Prophets are considered capable enough in Dark Arts to seek personal advancement through pursuits of their own. This proves both ability and suitability for an elevation rite to the next ranking circle. For those that feel they are ready, any member of the Third Circle may request an elevation rite, but should be truly prepared.

The Second Circle is composed of Lesser Prophets, who are the majority of the Jen'Vi'kas order. They are Sith that have shown high potential and are capable of performing adequate Dart Arts skills and abilities. This is where personal capabilities are truly recognized, and status gained by willingness to develop and grow in more abilities and powers. Lesser Prophets are very capable of utilizing their powers, and while not to the level of Prophets or High Prophets, are still serious threats to their opponents.

All Lesser Prophets are given training and lessons by Prophets and High Prophets, and are also expected to seek personal advancement through pursuits of their own in the Dark Arts. Whether they do this alone, or with other Lesser Prophets, is entirely up to him/her, however all elevation rites are conducted on a personal basis - so relying on one another to supplement personal weakness is parallel to failure. No member of the Second Circle may request an elevation rite, and will only be given one once proven themselves to the High Prophets.

The First Circle is filled with hopefuls seeking to join the ranks of the Jen'Vi'kas, holding the title of servant. A new initiate of the Jen'Vi'kas, the members of this rank are there solely to prove if they are capable of becoming Prophet. It is their purpose to assist with tasks appointed to them by higher ranked members, and to learn from any Prophet willing to teach him/her in the ways of the Dark Arts. It is during this initiation period that any hopeful Servant is assessed on capability, knowledge and application of powers taught; and if proved worthy, the Servant is given the elevation rite and proceeds to become a Lesser Prophet, earning the next Mark of the Jen'Vi'kas with the Second Circle symbol.
