He almost expected her to run.
Though in recent history, some degree of progress had been made...Seren was still the larger thief out of the pair. While the beautiful spider had made an occupation out of pilfering that which did not belong to her...the Wolf had effectively stolen her entire life. Where she swiped trinkets, he had swiped an entire human being. Robbed her of her identity. Her freedom. Her dignity. After all the sins he had accrued when it came to Willow, he had full anticipated her leaping at the chance to restore herself in the Galaxy. But, despite the realities of what he had done and how he had treated her, she still chose him.
She explained her mindset simply enough. Her life had already been ridded with danger...so she would stay. For but a few moments, the Wolf did not know what to say. He did not know how to put to words how he was feeling. However, as she looked downward - moving the focus of the conversation away from her future towards their itinerary for the day - Seren stepped closer. Wordlessly, his arms wrapped about her and drew her in. His embrace was not suffocating, nor rough. He was gentle with her - which was a far cry from the day they met.
His lips momentarily graced her hair as well before he responded. "If it's all the same, I'm glad you're staying." His response was simple enough and his arms lingered for only a few more moments. Upon release, he motioned with his chin down the avenue towards another selection of shops. "We'll want to keep an eye out for a military outfitter. Hunters would frequent those sort of shops. Boots. Leathers. Things like what you've got on. That's where we can find them." Before striding forth into the dusty afternoon, he also offered his hand.
"And to answer your question...after dealing with danger and excitement abroad, it's nice to come home to somewhere quiet. Cularin is that for Jenmae and I - a reprieve from the crazy. I'm sure you'll see it that way too after awhile."
