THE INQUISITORIOUS
~Enforce order through the Force~
The Imperial Confederation's Inquisitorious is an elite group of Force-sensitive warriors viewed with deep suspicion and placed under regulatory control. As a result, the Inquisitors are closely monitored and have no centralised leadership outside of a Grand Inquisitor. Instead, they are placed under the command of the Imperial Secret Service, answering to all higher-ranking officers. They're the black ops Force option for the Confederation.
The Inquisitorious is a necessary evil; their warriors serve as instruments of the Confederation, called upon when their unique abilities are required to carry out covert operations, suppress rebellious factions, or eliminate Force-sensitive threats. While they possess immense power, their role is to serve and obey, often fulfilling the orders of even the lower-ranking officers. This ensures that their abilities are tightly controlled and used only for the Confederation’s benefit.
Who is the Grand Inquisitor?
The Grand Inquisitor holds a unique and somewhat symbolic position within the Confederation. Unlike those with substantial command over their respective divisions, the Grand Inquisitor lacks direct power or authority over the Inquisitorious or any other Imperial body.
Instead, the Grand Inquisitor serves primarily as a liaison, receiving orders and directives from the higher-ranking members of the ISS hierarchy and then distributing them to the other Inquisitors under their command. They do not have the same influence as the leaders of other military or intelligence branches, nor do they have the autonomy to make independent decisions. Their role is one of communication and implementation, ensuring that the Inquisitorious carries out the will of the Confederation without overstepping its boundaries or growing beyond its intended purpose.
While they may sit at the table during important discussions within the ISS, their presence is more about ensuring that the Inquisitorious is kept in line with the Confederation’s overall strategy, rather than actively shaping that strategy themselves. In essence, the Grand Inquisitor is the middle person, a necessary figure, who ensures that the Force-sensitive warriors of the ISS remain tools to be wielded, not a force unto themselves.

How do They Operate?
The Inquisitorius, commonly referred to as the Inquisitors, are a cadre of Force-sensitive operatives employed by the Imperial Secret Service (ISS). Tasked primarily with hunting rogue Force sensitives and executing covert black operations, they serve under the direct authority of the Grand Inquisitor, who in turn reports to the Director of Imperial Security.
Structure and Hierarchy
- The Grand Inquisitor acts as the leader of the order, serving as both the voice of the Director of Imperial Security and as the face of the Organization. They are known to personally execute or punish those who fail or show weakness.
- ISS Commissars are elite or veteran Senior Agents or Field Commanders of the ISS who act as handlers and liasions for Inquisitors, ensuring mission integrity. In the event that an Inquisitor goes rogue, Commissars hold overriding authority over Purge Troopers, serving as a final check on the Inquisitor's power.
- Inquisitors, often referred to by numerical titles (e.g., Second Sister or Fifth Brother), are rigorusly trained in lightsaber combat, interrogation, and tracking rogue force users.
- Purge Troopers are specially trained stormtroopers pulled from elite and veteran units. They are assigned to assist Inquisitors during operations. Their chain of command lies strictly within Inquisitor missions and under tightly defined parameters. Meaning that during missions, they follow the orders of their Inquisitors, unless the Commissar overules their authority.
Modus Operandi
- Hunting Force Sensitives: Their core mandate is to locate and eliminate (or capture) any Force-sensitive individual deemed a threat to the Confederation, particularly those who reject allegiance to the Imperial Knights.
- Interrogation & Conversion: Inquisitors are authorized to attempt conversion before execution, often using psychological pressure to coerce loyalty to the Inquisitorius.
- Fear & Brutality: Their operations rely heavily on fear tactics, intimidation, and torture, not only to break their targets but also to send a message to any who would shelter them.
- Use of the Dark Side: While not Sith, they are among the few sanctioned to wield the dark side within the Imperial Confederation to complete their tasks.
Equipment and Relationships
- Double-bladed lightsabers: These are distinct weapons that can rotate like a saw blade, allowing them to perform intimidating combat maneuvers.
- Specialized Starships: Inquisitors operate advanced personal starfighters or custom shuttles for rapid deployment.
- The Inquisitors are neither Jedi nor Sith. They reject such binary labels, wielding the Force in whatever way their mission requires—without moral constraint.
- They are natural rivals of the Imperial Knights, each viewing the other as the ideological antithesis of their purpose. While the Knights uphold loyalty and order through restraint, the Inquisitors enforce it through fear and domination.

RANKS OF THE INQUISITORIOUS
- Grand Inquisitor - Serves as the figurehead of authority for the Inquisitorius, reporting directly to the Imperial Secret Service on all matters and carrying out their edicts.
- Dark Brothers & Sisters: Indoctrinated force-sensitives who have undergone training, and secret surgery failsafes, that are utilized as special assets against rogue force users.
- Initiates - These are force-sensitives who have yet to be indoctrinated and proven loyal to the Confederation, serving in logistical roles until their training is evaluated complete.
