The Imperial Grand Navy

The Imperial Grand Navy
"And so we shall block out the sun and, as the shadow of death eclipses the opponents of our might, they will not plead for their lives. They will only praise our power. They would gladly be smothered beneath the awesome force that is our Navy! It is an honor to be slaughtered, to be the participant of this divine massacre in order to shepherd further our executing blade, to silence this Era of Oppression!"
1. Lord Admiral - All Combined Navies

The military is defined like an aristocracy in its head’s composure it is led by twin knights of prowess, the Lords Marshall and Admiral, who dedicate body and soul to its expansion, acting as the Hands of the Imperium. As the name would suggest, the Lord Admiral is the Supreme Commander of the Navy, serving aboard its first and ultimate Fleet as his primary base of operation and, beneath the Imperium’s influence, leads his chain of command to victory, directing the Imperium’s Galactic Campaign through strategic influence and, should he will it, his direct presence in battle aboard his unique warship. While providing a life largely consistent of social pandering, due to the twins' face of all military might, the Lord Admiral is, without a doubt, an explosively powerful being, whose influence reaches far, eclipsed only be his strategic capability in battle. The Lord Admiral is, without a doubt, a monster akin to the most depraved beast in the Galaxy, rightfully so and having earned his royal command through a mixture of capabilities, for both atrocity and overwhelming victory, directed upon the Imperium's enemies within in the black vacuums of the void.

Fleets, while the most massive operational force in the Armadas of the Imperium, do have specified duties, primarily during conquest, involving themselves in blockades, invasions, dominions and skirmishes on behalf of the empire. Commanders are expected to respond when called to duty and helm the forces; rarely subverting command to an Admiral-class Officer should they be present, for political or personal matters.

4. Commodore - Task Force [TBA km]

Task forces are the most common form of naval expression in warfare, being composed of a small selection of vessels with a sole, objective-driven purpose and are often entirely situational. They are briefly created for a mission, composed of ships from a single fleet and are completely overseen by a Commodore. Commodores, while minor in stature, serve effectively as substitute commanders for these missions and compose a Board of Commodores, for which there is one for every fleet. They provide directive to the fleet commanders based upon their experience and serve effectively as naval advisors, offering a unique perspective on situations, allowing the Commander both divide his authority and view all sides of a matter before taking action. Only three Commodores served under a particular Commander at a time, but they are an extremely active rank that serves under a transitory lifestyle.

This is a Non-Player Character Rank.*

Ranks equal to Lieutenant-Colonel.

5. Captain - Ship [Single Vessel/Capital Ship + Support Vessels]

Each vessel supports the fleet, assisting to compose the tremendous, living body of the Imperium's galactic navy simply through its own presence. Each vessel, on its own, is made up of a crew, potential marines, an officer hierarchy, and, potentially, a new caste involving the Starfighter Corps. Living organisms require a brain to function, directing the individual purposes of the body to their utmost capacity and ethic, and so do ships, whose individual workers look to the captain to direct them. While a captain may not, in title, own the ship itself -- especially in the condition of the elite flagships -- their fate is tied to the vessel and, in military law, the captain is never to be separated from their craft. In the course of decommission, the craft is often smelted down and rebuilt into the newer models to bypass this, but in the case of its capture, or its destruction, a captain is expected to go down with the ship. They also compose the Captain Pantheons within the fleet, which operate under the fleet Commander.

Starfighter Corps:

1. Brigadier - Brigade [Total Starfighters in a Task Force/Fleet]
Brigadiers oversee all Starfighter strategies in a single fleet, directing orders through the various Wing Commanders of the naval force and acting as an independent entity to the chain of command, answering only the Commander himself. They live a rather luxurious, underestimated life aboard the fleet’s command vessels, stationed along with the Captain, Wing Commanders, the Commodores, and their might Commander, in addition to the legendary admirals, should the ship be helming a tremendous fleet.

4. Pilot - Wingmen [2 Starfighters Paired]
Often compromised entirely of clone soldiers, the legions of pilots who compose the Starfighter Corps serve beneath the overarching hierarchy of Naval Command, serving little more than cannon fodder sub-humans. However, emotional attachment is promoted between the Squadron Commander and his pilots, though the relationship is treated as one would the loving attachment one would have for a pet.
