The Huntress, The Beast

She stood still, looking towards the ground as he inspected her. She'd only look back up when he touched her cheek. She was sure he knew she was approaching, a smirked formed on her face when he went to kiss her forehead. It seemed like it had been forever since she'd last seen him, and he'd been in her thought ever since. They both knew she despised him for that...it made her feel powerless in a way.

"No, I'm glad you came. I thought you wouldn't..." She let go a breath before walking a few steps past him. "I suppose your wondering...right?" she spoke before she turned around and looked upon him.

"Sempul, my father, is a cultured man...but he is also understanding. He called off the ceremonies...I am no ones wife." she said looking over at him.

Of course they argued each other down, but he was her father first and foremost and so he could understand her will to do others things. In that regard he noted she was similar to her mother, so he chose not to hold her back. However, he wasn't a fan of Leos...at least not anymore. She wished things had transpired differently...then maybe they could have....

She slowly walked back over to him, coming a foot away.

"Tell me again...when you look at me, what do you see?"

Good, he hadn't been stupid. Leos wouldn't have to go back there and do more threaten the old man. Yes he'd sacrificed any chance he'd had of making her his wife, but in so doing he'd helped make her father realize his daughters wishes, and gotten her to stand up for herself before him. In the end that was what mattered. They would still have each other, just not at all times. That was to be their life from then on out.

She came back to him then, stood there, and asked him what he saw when he looked at her. It was the real her now, confident, albeit a bit on the lady side because he was there. She was still just as deadly as she would ever be, and she was not struck with the feeling of dread at being made to be something that she didn't want to be.

"I see the huntress, free of her shadow. The woman who thrives on the danger of the wild, rather than the shackles of leadership. Your chains are gone now, and you are free to be you."

A shame indeed that things had not gone differently. Though they could not be wed, he supposed they could still be lovers. This place their secret meeting spot whenever he could come back to see her. Would she like that? Was she willing? He didn't know but he didn't want to have to let her leave. It was a strong and strange emotion. The last time someone had been taken from his life it was his younger brother who was taken away and lost to the annals of the Jedi world.

In a swift motion he moved towards her and swept her into his arms, cradling her close to him.

"I am sorry we cannot be married, but how I feel towards you will never change. You will always be my huntress."

The feel of her skin upon his hands, her body close to him. It was enticing, but he was a man of principle, even though he was a Sith. He would not seduce her unless she wanted it. Holding he r close was enough for then.

She closed her eyes when he told her, nodding slowly with a smile on her face. Just then she felt herself being swept off her feet and into his arms. She allowed this to happen with no problem at all, she was hoping he would have...she knew he wanted to and he knew she wanted him to. She wrapped her arms around him and clung to his shoulders.

He said he was sorry, but there were no coincidences. She was content with knowing this was how it was suppose to be. With them being together, it may have been a fight constantly but at least now they had one another' hearts. At least he captured hers, she was sure he had something else to return to and maybe even another who he found interest in. The latter she wasn't quite sure, as it didn't seem like him but...

"My heart will always be yours...I just hope you keep it and hold it close when your away...until the next time you see me."

She wondered what would become of this, were they to persist with meeting when they could or was this goodbye for now...of course she wanted this to be something more, where they could see one another after being held apart by their very different worlds. She wondered of where he was from and what he would be returning back to.

"Will this be it...the last time I see you?"

Such a tragic love story.

He held her in his arms for quite a while. She weighed little, even for him. Muscular though she was, she was incredibly lithe and he couldn't help but to enjoy the feeling of holding her, having her arms around his shoulders. This Togruta was something special. There had only ever been two women he'd had affections towards, and one had been beyond his grasp from the get go. The other was like a daughter to him. Only Paa'lee was afforded the true affection that the heart could desire. Only she was special enough for such. And yet he knew that they would never be together in the way that one would want. It was a sad reality.

"I will hold it close always."

A promise. Her love would be near to him even when she was far away from him. Nothing would ever be able to take away that feeling of closeness. If anything, the further they were apart, the stronger it would grow. The desire to be near to one another would be hurtful, too. He knew that. He wouldn't let it distract him, but he would worry about her every moment that she was away from him. If anything happened to her, there would be nothing to stop him from seeking vengeance on those responsible, and his heart would break in the process.

"No, this will not be the last time. I will return soon. Though we will be far apart, we will always see each other at some point."

He leaned forward and kissed her lips gently.

"I promise you this."

Setting her down again, he kissed her forehead once more. A smile was offered, a brush of fingers against her cheek, and then he turned to walk away, the Maalraas appearing at his side as he moved away from her. He glanced back once, just to see her again, affording his mind a final image of her, before he departed and made his way to where his shuttle would pick him up. There was work to be done or he'd have remained longer. For now, however, he'd promised he would be back, and he intended to keep his promise. She would see him again soon, and they would discuss much when she did.
