Nestled within a secluded mountain valley roughly five miles south of the Silent Voices, the House of Still Waters is intentionally removed from Anzat's population centers. Ancient roads, maintained footpaths, and a narrow repulsor-access route wind through the surrounding mountains, making travel possible but never convenient.

The academy welcomes applicants from every species, provided they arrive peacefully and submit to the school's admission process. Visitors are escorted beyond the front gate, where all weapons, combat stimulants, narcotics, toxins, and unauthorized technology are inspected before entry.

While not hidden, the academy is heavily monitored and only accessible through its fortified main gate. Those attempting to bypass the entrance often discover that the surrounding cliffs, patrol routes, and surveillance systems make infiltration considerably more difficult than appearances suggest.
  • Description:
The House of Still Waters resembles an ancient mountain monastery expanded over generations into a self-sufficient martial academy. Dark stone walls embrace numerous tiled-roof structures surrounding open courtyards, meditation gardens, training arenas, and flowing streams that descend from the surrounding mountains.

Modern security systems blend seamlessly with traditional architecture. Sensor towers rise from the cliffs alongside centuries-old watchtowers, while concealed blast doors and reinforced walls protect the academy without disturbing its tranquil appearance. Every building reflects the school's philosophy that discipline and harmony exist alongside preparedness.

Students spend eight intensive months living, training, studying, and competing beneath the guidance of Elder Meneso Ryevu and the Core Five Anzati Masters before their abilities are judged. Success earns continued advancement within the House. Failure requires the student to return home and reapply during a future training cycle.

Serving as the heart of the academy, the Grand Hall hosts ceremonies, lectures, examinations, and gatherings between students and masters. Its polished stone floors are deliberately left open, allowing the room to transform from a place of quiet discussion into a dueling arena within moments. Portraits and sculptures depicting legendary Anzati masters line the walls, reminding students that every generation builds upon the discipline of those before them.

Holographic Simulation

The academy's most technologically advanced training facility contains a network of military-grade holographic projectors, environmental generators, and programmable terrain systems capable of recreating an extraordinary variety of combat scenarios.

Students may find themselves fighting within frozen tundra one hour before enduring scorching desert heat the next. Simulations faithfully reproduce torrential rainstorms, hurricane-force winds, volcanic terrain, dense jungles, zero-visibility fog, urban environments, collapsing structures, ship interiors, and even Force storms severe enough to challenge concentration without posing genuine danger.

Entire platoons can train together against simulated opponents, while instructors freely alter battlefield conditions during exercises to test adaptability rather than memorization. Every encounter is recorded, allowing the Core Five to review mistakes with remarkable precision after each session.

House Security Station

Overlooking both the main entrance and the academy grounds, the Security Station serves as the central nervous system of the House. Equipped with long-range sensor arrays, security holocameras, encrypted communications equipment, life-form scanners, and automated alarm systems, the station continuously monitors every authorized approach to the academy.

Entry checkpoints utilize scanners capable of detecting concealed weapons, explosive compounds, combat stimulants, illegal narcotics, poisons, and unauthorized technology before visitors enter the grounds. One member of the Core Five is permanently assigned to oversee the station on a rotating schedule, ensuring that security decisions benefit from centuries of experience rather than relying solely upon automated systems.

Patrol schedules, surveillance feeds, visitor clearances, emergency lockdowns, and student accountability all originate from this room. The masters are particularly vigilant against students attempting to smuggle performance-enhancing substances or prohibited artifacts into the academy, believing that true mastery cannot be built upon deception.

The academy houses its apprentices in modest but comfortable residential halls designed to encourage discipline rather than luxury. Each suite comfortably accommodates up to eight students, providing sleeping quarters, hygiene facilities, storage lockers, and shared study areas.

While the House welcomes every species, room assignments account for long-standing cultural rivalries and biological requirements. Wookiees and Trandoshans are housed separately, aquatic species receive modified environmental controls where necessary, and species requiring specialized atmospheres or climates are accommodated through dedicated environmental systems.

This expansive training complex contains numerous practice floors dedicated to armed and unarmed combat. Movable walls allow instructors to rapidly alter layouts, while suspended practice weapons, sparring circles, climbing structures, and obstacle courses provide nearly limitless training combinations. Each of the Core Five oversees instruction within a particular discipline, ensuring students experience a broad spectrum of martial philosophies rather than a single rigid doctrine.

Fed by mountain springs that weave naturally through carefully cultivated gardens, this peaceful sanctuary offers students a place to recover from rigorous training. Stone pathways, meditation platforms, and shallow pools encourage contemplation, allowing apprentices to examine both their victories and failures away from the intensity of daily instruction.

Part library, part museum, the Archive preserves centuries of martial knowledge collected by Elder Ryevu and the Core Five. Ancient manuscripts, combat treatises, instructional holorecordings, historical accounts, and preserved weapons from dozens of cultures fill climate-controlled vaults.

Rather than merely cataloguing techniques, instructors continually expand the collection by documenting lessons learned from each graduating class, ensuring the House evolves alongside the galaxy instead of remaining trapped by tradition.

The House of Still Waters employs a High layered security system designed to protect its students and preserve centuries of Anzati knowledge without resembling a military fortress. Reinforced perimeter walls and fortified mountain approaches funnel all visitors toward the heavily monitored main gate, where weapons scanners, life-form scanners, and contraband detection systems inspect every entrant for concealed arms, explosives, performance-enhancing substances, toxins, and unauthorized technology.

A network of sensor towers, motion detectors, and holocameras provides continuous surveillance of the surrounding valley and academy grounds, all coordinated through the House Security Station. Critical buildings are protected by reinforced blast doors and an emergency lockdown system that can isolate sections of the complex within moments.

Security is further strengthened by encrypted communications linking instructors and patrols, limited turbolaser towers positioned along the outer defenses to deter raiders, and rotating patrols of senior students under the direct supervision of the Core Five. One Anzati Master is assigned to oversee the Security Station at all times, ensuring every alarm, visitor, and security decision benefits from experienced judgment rather than automated systems alone, while an on-site medical team remains prepared to respond immediately to accidents or security incidents.

The House of Still Waters was founded after Elder Meneso Ryevu Meneso Ryevu concluded that too much of Anzati martial heritage had become fragmented, forgotten, or deliberately hidden through centuries of isolation. Rather than establish another secret order concerned solely with preserving ancient traditions, Ryevu envisioned a living academy where martial disciplines could continue to evolve through successive generations.

To accomplish this, he sought out five Anzati masters whose journeys had taken them across countless worlds and countless battlefields. Though each possessed vastly different philosophies regarding combat, all shared a belief that discipline should outlast violence. Together they became the Core Five, transforming a remote mountain sanctuary south of the Silent Voices into a school unlike any other on Anzat.

Over the following years the academy expanded carefully. New halls were constructed, archives grew, modern defensive systems were incorporated into the ancient architecture, and advanced simulation technology was introduced to prepare students for the realities of warfare across the galaxy.

Today the House of Still Waters stands as both sanctuary and proving ground. Every eight months a new class arrives from across the galaxy, hoping to endure the demanding instruction of Elder Ryevu and the Core Five. Some leave as disciplined martial artists. Others depart humbled, knowing they must first master themselves before seeking mastery over others.
