The Holy Order of the Righteous Flame Q&A

Q: What is the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame?

A: The Order is a militaristic monastic order which is dedicated to returning the Galaxy to Order amid the continuing Chaos created in the wake of the ongoing Jedi-Sith conflict. They view themselves as the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' a title which the Jedi Order has in recent years failed to uphold.

Q: Is the Order of the Righteous Flame like all those other 'Crusader' Factions before them?

A: No. What stands us apart from those Factions and similar factions is our policy of No Force Sensitive individuals are permitted within the Order. There are multiple groups already that have been permeated throughout with their own Force Users. This is a group strictly for Non-Force Users.

Q: Why would I want to join the Order of the Righteous Flame when Force Users are so cool and make up the primary reason that many people roleplay in a Star Wars setting?

A: Why wouldn't you? Yes the biggest draw of Star Wars is the Force Users, the Jedi and the Sith and all those little splinter factions in between. Yet where does that leave everyone else in the grand scale? You've those whom aren't Force Users often relegated to the background as their work in a conflict is over shadowed by the 'nearly infinite cosmic power' beings.

The Order of the Righteous Flame seeks to change this by providing those whom are either tired of playing the Force User, or whom want something new, can come and enjoy themselves. Likewise the Order is a faction that is meant to prove that you can have just as much fun liberating a galaxy without the Force.

Q: What are your views on the Jedi Order, the Sith Order, and the other FU based Factions?

A: As the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame moves to serve as a Sub-Faction of the established Free Worlds Coalition, their views on Force Users and thus FU based factions is shifting. While they're still suspicious and weary of those that use the Light-Side of the Force or whom are Neutral, they still maintain a heavy Anti-Sith / Anti-Darksider FU view and policy. So while they would be willing to work with a Jedi (still keeping an eye on them), not so much in terms of working with a strictly Darkside FU.

Their view is thus shifting as well. They see the Sith as a destabilizing force on the Galaxy, and that those that focus on the darker aspects of the Force without the structure of an organization (such as the Sith) to be the most dangerous. However their view on the Jedi isn't much better. While they're becoming tolerant of Lightsiders, they believe that the Jedi Order has failed the Galaxy by splintering into numerous factions, thus draining and dividing their power.

The Holy Order of the Righteous Flame would like to see the Jedi Orders reunited into a single order to better serve the Galaxy and once more take up their proper mantles as 'Defenders'.

Q: Are you really going to focus on the destruction of the Jedi and Sith, as well as other Force Users?

A: This is a question that continues to change and evolve along with the faction. With the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame changing their views on many Force Users, it is not that they will focus upon the destruction of Force Users. Once more their focus is on Dark Siders and the Sith, as well as those Force Users that abuse their powers.

Q: What are your views on other Factions?

A: This is another question that is difficult to outright answer due to the myriad of factions that exist at this moment. For the moment they're focused on their own goals and do not think of the other factions unless they interfere with the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame (beyond their own focus upon the Sith, Jedi, and Force Users).

Q: How does the 'Severing' Ceremony work?

A: In the shortest terms, it doesnt. The Severing Ceremony is a ceremony to essentially serve an individual from the force, specifically a Force User or Force Sensitive being. It utilizes both the Yuuzhan Vong Embrace of Pain (or a similar apparatus) in combination with large quantities of Death Sticks. Many who undergo the Ceremony outright die. A few go mad and are either put down or they commit suicide. The few that do manage to survive the process and who are truly severed from the Force are brought into the Order as members.

Q: What if I undergo the Severing Ceremony and survive, do I have to join the Order?

A: If you managed to survive the Ceremony you would not be forced to join the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame. However, the Order would still keep a watchful eye on your character for security reasons.

Q: If I join, what is there for the kind of person whom doesn't want to be a soldier or always in combat.

A: That depends on the person. While there is the main branch of the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame itself; there are additional internal organizations (just as the Jedi Order had the service corps).

Those internal organizations (previously the Seekers, Enlightened, Armigers, and Hospitallers) have been condensed into the following.

The Expeditionary Corps (formerly the Seekers and Enlightened), which focus on the collection of dangerous artifacts, hunting down dangerous FUs, and serving as the eyes and ears of the Holy Order.

The Engineering Corps (formerly the Armigers), which focus on the Research and Development of new technologies, vessels and vehicles for the Holy Order; as well as ensuring the establishment of supply lines.

The Relief Corps (formerly the Hospitallers), which focus on the humanitarian relief operations such as aiding the sick and poor. Caring for the wounded and dying. Offering Relief aid to refugees and other survivors of natural disasters, etc etc.

Q: Well, what about those that join the Order but don't want to be part of those factions or internal organizations?

A: We still welcome you, as there are a myriad of stories that are just waiting to be written. Perhaps you're a Force Sensitive that doesn't like the fact that you are and so you seek out the Order to find a means to strip you of that curse. Or you could be a Pro Force Sensitive whom is seeking to infiltrate the order to try and hinder it (be reasonable with this though).

There are even those lost souls whom are displaced by the Jedi's inaction and the Sith's conquest that could just be relocating themselves, their family, or their business into Holy Order of the Righteous Flame held territory as a means to escape the Jedi and Sith. If you think it, we can probably come up with a compelling story to develop and play out.

Q: What happens to a Force Sensitive Child born to members of the Holy Order of the Righteous Flame?

A: That child would (at an appropriate age) would be sent to the Keepers of the Free Worlds Coalition for training in how to understand and control their powers while also being watched for any signs of corruption to ensure they do not fall to the Dark Side of the Force.

What would the Order of the Righteous Flame think of a race who 'disrupts'/nullifies the Force but has abilities of their own at their disposal? Would they view them as a threat like the Force Users, or something else?
