OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To create an augmentation to turn applicable droids into qualified assassins
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Keen-Eye Electronics
  • Model: N/A
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Electronic Components
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • "Hitman Protocol": Advanced close-range assassination programming.
  • Free Garrote wire with purchase
Strengths:
  • Unsuspecting Assassin: As it is meant to be used for models that are widely used for civilian use, this can create an assassin without any obvious design changes.
  • Hitman Protocol: The 'Hitman Protocol' programming creates a droid combatant equally capable of effectively assassinating a target in close proximity, through use of any number of tools.
  • Comes Standard: Comes with a free garrote wire.
  • Late addition: Can be added to a droid after it has been activated, by way of an external drive compatible with the droids that can have the augment added on.
Weaknesses:
  • Range: Despite being a useful alteration, should the new 'assassin' droid be caught anywhere not in very close proximity, it is about as worthless as a B1 battledroid without the master control signal. At the range of a blaster pistol is enough distance to render the droid's new upgrade all but worthless.
  • Program Only: The upgrade, while helping the defined mechanics of holding certain weapons, or handling an unaware target up close, it does not actually enhance a droid's physical capabilities in any tangible way. The droid will still move the same way as always, with all the limitations that come with it.
  • Obvious program: If engineers or programmers actually look at the coding on the droid, the programming is obviously altered.
  • Physical Requirements: The droid this program is installed on requires the manual dexterity to operate a knife or garrote wire.
DESCRIPTION

Knowing not everyone is willing to wait for natural causes to help their upward, executive grown, or for peaceful solutions to complicated problems, Keen-Eye Electronics began to design the "Hitman Protocol". This would turn the civilian droid into a threat by allowing it to not only understand how to kill someone with wire or a knife, or similar device, but the foresight to avoid being obvious about it. The programming didn't adjust anything with the design of the droid, but was made to be a deadly tool for assassins and criminal organizations. If installed on a protocol droid, for instance, it can spend days learning the patterns of the office, before striking its target, or on a 'bodyguard' droid it might take time to gain the trust of the owner. For people willing to put the effort into waiting, this augmentation can be a deadly tool.

In concerns that the droid would not have time to be trusted, the data was designed to be easily added to the droid, by way of an external drive. This meant the droid could be adjusted after any security check upon purchase, for those who wished to find a sudden promotion looming over the horizon.
