Private The Hidden Fortress

Junko was looking at her while she moved with a laugh to herself. "I will have to show you, the second bathhouse and the third is something that is important in all the palaces. it is the ones usually used by guests and family. It is made to be more impressive and showcase yourself and style. It is the same for the guest rooms, your main room can be as beautiful as you want but you want the guests to be able to see what you have." Junko moved with her backstroke through the gemstones as she held them up. "And you are spoiled, you will continue to be spoiled for all that you have done and continue to do. The battle of Atrisia had a lot of factors but you were with the fighters aiding us."

Supisy felt the warmth reach her cheeks before she could stop it. A blush. A genuine one. She hid it poorly. "You're really not helping my ego, you know," she murmured, smiling as she drifted alongside Junko, letting the sea of gemstones carry her.

"My palace..." She gave a quiet, almost disbelieving laugh. "I still catch myself thinking someone is going to tell me there's been a mistake." Her fingers idly stirred through the floating gems. "I never thought I'd have a real home." A beat. "Much less a palace with three bathhouses."

She shook her head, the smile lingering. "I think I need to set aside an entire day just to properly explore it." With an easy kick, she spun onto her back beside Junko, lazily backstroking through the jeweled sea. "And apparently I have guest suites to inspect."

Her eyes found the Princess again. "I'll have to make sure they're worthy of your visits."

At Junko's praise, Supisy's playful expression softened. "The Battle of Atrisia..." she said quietly. "I was only doing what anyone should."

She floated for another moment before turning her head toward Junko. "No." A small smile. "I was doing what I wanted." Her voice carried an easy certainty. "Atrisia deserves to be protected."

She nudged one of the larger gemstones so it drifted between them. "And I'll do everything I possibly can to make sure it stays that way." The seriousness lasted only a heartbeat before her grin returned.

"Though I admit..." She glanced around the glittering chamber. "Protecting a Commonwealth that pays me by spoiling me this thoroughly is a remarkably good arrangement. Especially when I get to take swims in gems with the beautiful Princess."

"You make your people rich and comfortable. Give them everything that shows their talents are wanted, their opinions valued and their skills praised. It is much easier to build loyalty with beauty and a higher quality of life then it is to just demand everyone do something to protect an elite few." Junko said it though while she was laughing. "Some don't understand that but some do and some like it. That Miyoung has developed a whole lot more that will appeal to a few people. The newest food items that we have been working on alone have shown being much better then some see. Shadowroot tea and then our zenkai implants."

Supisy nodded without a moment's hesitation, lazily gliding through the sea of gemstones beside Junko. "I couldn't agree more." She reached out, letting a ruby drift across her fingertips. "You can make someone obey with an iron fist." Her eyes found Junko's. "But they'll spend every day looking for the moment they can slip free."

A small smile tugged at her lips. "You make someone feel valued..." She gestured around them—to the jeweled sea, the hidden sanctuary, everything Atrisia had built. "...and they'll choose to stay." Supisy laughed softly. "I know which one I'd rather fight for."

At the mention of Shadowroot tea and the newest implants, her brow arched. "Miyoung has somehow found time to invent drinks and machines?" She shook her head with theatrical disbelief. "I'm beginning to think she's secretly three geniuses standing on each other's shoulders."

Her grin returned as she drifted a little closer to Junko. "And here I thought today was going to be about shipping manifests." She looked around the dazzling chamber one more time before meeting the Princess's eyes again.

"Instead you've somehow convinced me that beauty might be the most effective form of statecraft in the galaxy." A beat. "Which," she added with a playful smirk, "does explain why you keep sending yourself to diplomatic conferences."

"Oh it is about shipping manifests, we have all the new things that we will be shipping out into the galaxy itself. A benefit to all of us." The look that they would be able to have and idea for how to work with people was something that Junko respected and she strived for with Shoma. THey would change it if they could, they would try and make it so that the value and quality is what attracted the people as opposed to just declaring. That was why when she had met with the empire it had been such a curious thing at least. "And we saw it at the summit, those refugees were given supplies but based on what was said I am worried if they actually got it or that was just a ploy to get more."

Supisy chuckled, shaking her head. "So this was about shipping manifests?" She looked around the glittering chamber. "I'll admit, this is the most entertaining logistics briefing I've ever attended."

The smile faded slightly as Junko mentioned the refugees on Mahporeem. A small frown crossed her face. "I've thought about that."

She drifted a little closer, idly pushing a sapphire aside as it floated between them. "Those Imperials didn't have the right motives." She sighed softly. "But... I don't think they were trying to make slaves of the refugees."

Her voice remained measured. "I think they genuinely believe strength comes from marching in, taking control, and deciding what's best for everyone." A small shrug. "They don't really understand diplomacy beyond showing up with an army."

Her eyes met Junko's. "I hope those refugees got what they were promised." A faint smile returned. "They deserve to choose who earns their loyalty." She nudged a floating emerald toward the Princess with a playful flick of her fingers. "I have a feeling Atrisia would win that contest more often than not."

"Based on how he said it and made it sound. The refugees were a means to get all of us in there under the pretense of aid and then have our methods to solve their problems so that it could be used in the plans for conquest. There is a reason why most of the bigger companies and governments backed away from the plan." SHe said it though while relaxing there with a wide grin on her face though. "Still they were bold, I will give them that." Her amusement was high in many cases before she was rolling over with a bigger moment before she sank down and swam around a little popping up as she swung her hair around with a moment. "We would but only because Shoma made sure we had the time we needed to build the foundation to handle and protect the people who came to us."

Supisy gave a small shrug as she floated alongside Junko, letting a handful of gemstones drift lazily through her fingers. "I don't understand politics the way you do." Her smile turned sheepish. "I understand ships. People. Cargo. Occasionally smugglers."

She tilted her head. "The methods were... improper. I won't argue that." A small sigh escaped her. "But I'm not convinced the intent was anything more complicated than Mahporeem doing what Mahporeem has always done."

She looked over at Junko. "Either way, I agree with everyone pulling back. I'm not interested in helping anyone conquer people who didn't ask to be conquered."

As Junko slipped beneath the shimmering sea of gemstones, Supisy couldn't help but giggle. "There goes the Siren again..." She watched the rippling colors until Junko emerged, sending her hair back in a glittering arc.

Supisy blinked. "...That's unfair." A grin spread across her face as she swam a little closer, batting her eyes with exaggerated innocence. "You can't expect anyone to pay attention to serious political discussions after making an entrance like that."

She rested her forearms against a cluster of floating gemstones, smiling warmly. "And as much as Shoma deserves credit..." Her eyes lingered on Junko. "I'm pretty sure you had something to do with putting Atrisia in such a good position too."

A teasing smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Don't worry." She lowered her voice conspiratorially. "I won't tell him I admitted it."

She just looked at her. "Of course. I have done plenty and more, but humblebragging only goes so far. There is something to be said properly about a royal or court lady having the decorum to not say how awesome or pretty or cool or smart or sexy that they are. The goal is to get other people to be able to say that about them." Junko was back stroking while she looked over at her with a nod of her head. "That is the goal, it doesn't always happen but that is the goal. Shoma does a lot outside of the Commonwealth with diplomatic talks to the other governments and people that we get along with or try to."

Supisy laughed, rolling onto her back so she drifted alongside Junko through the sea of gemstones. "So your official strategy is to let everyone else do the flattering for you?" She nodded thoughtfully. "That's very dignified."

A beat. "And wildly inconvenient for me." Her grin grew. "Because now I'm obligated to keep pointing out how awesome, pretty, cool, smart..." She paused deliberately, her eyes drifting toward Junko. "...and, yes, sexy you are."

She smiled innocently. "I'm simply supporting Atrisian court etiquette." The gems shifted around them as she gave a lazy kick through the shimmering sea. "And Shoma does deserve a great deal of credit."

She glanced over. "But while he's convincing governments, you're convincing people." A small shrug. "I've met enough leaders to know those aren't the same thing."

Supisy drifted a little closer, lowering her voice playfully. "So I suppose I'll continue doing my duty as a loyal Court Lady." Her blue eyes sparkled. "Whenever you forget to humblebrag..." Supisy let her eyes wander over Junko for the briefest moment before meeting her gaze again with an unashamed smile. "...I'll happily brag for you."

"Yes, I suppose that you shall have to endeavor. The Struggle is real." Junko's voice was there with a lite laugh before she was checking on parts of it. She wanted to look. "And governments are not some monolithic thing, they are a group of people brought together to try and organize for the masses. If it was possible to do without them it might be fine but sometimes for meeting with other planets. One person can speak louder then a thousand in one room and the only real danger is getting them all to agree what is the best decision going forward." Junko continued to swim and within the sea she only stopped to climb up onto an island of a kyber crystals laid out with a laugh.

Supisy laughed softly. "I suppose I'll bear the burden." She placed the back of one hand dramatically against her forehead. "It won't be easy constantly reminding the galaxy how wonderful you are..."

A grin spread across her face. "...but someone has to do it." She paddled lazily after Junko as the Princess climbed atop the little island of kyber crystals, pausing for a moment to admire the sight.

"You know," she mused, "I'm beginning to think you deliberately find the prettiest place in every room before you stop." Her eyes lingered on Junko for a heartbeat before she smiled again.

As Junko spoke about governments, Supisy nodded thoughtfully. "I like people more than governments." She shrugged. "People can surprise you."

A small splash accompanied another lazy stroke through the gemstones. "Governments usually just surprise each other." She rested her arms on the edge of the kyber island, looking up at Junko. "But I suppose you're right."

Her smile softened. "If one voice can speak for thousands..." A playful glint returned to her eyes. "...then I'm glad Atrisia picked that of your family."

SHe shrugged with that and offered a wider grin. "Do you really think, that I would be so vain, so occupied with thoughts of looking amazing that I would scout and set up locations that would be used to emphasize my beauty and grace." Junko said it as she laid there and dangled a foot into the sea of stones. "Really, you gie me so little credit. I have had most places in my palace designed way before that and I use the force to make sure I know exactly how and where to be so that I am always eye catching." She said it with the widest of grins forming on her face.
