- Nexus Name: The Heart of Lothal
- Nexus Alignment: Light
- Location: Lothal
- Affiliation: Mahporeem Imperial Remnant
- Size: Large
- Strength: Strong
- Accessibility:
- The nexus can only be accessed through an excavated breach in an ancient half-broken stone spire, carefully opened by engineers of the Mahporeem Imperial Army after the subterranean chambers were uncovered. Beyond the breach lies a narrow stone spiral staircase descending deep beneath the surface, its worn steps disappearing into the darkness of the cavern system below. The staircase eventually opens into the chamber containing the nexus, where the ancient presence of the Heart of Lothal permeates the surrounding stone and air.
- Description:
- The Force nexus lies within the cavern like a living sanctuary, its ancient presence flowing through the crystalline waters, roots, stone, and vegetation that have grown undisturbed beneath Lothal. Pale shafts of natural light descend through the cavern ceiling, illuminating the spring at its heart as though the Force itself is drawing the heavens inward, creating an overwhelming sense of serenity and renewal. Yet beneath that tranquility lies an immense and ancient power, a Light Side convergence so profound that every living thing within the cavern seems subtly bound to its presence.
The Heart of Lothal possesses a profound concentration of the Force, its presence exerting an almost tangible influence upon every living sentient that enters its reach, while those attuned to the Force experience its effects with nearly triple the intensity. Most sentients, including those aligned with the Light Side, are enveloped by an overwhelming sense of peace and serenity, happiness and warmth, as though the Nexus gently strips away the burdens of the outside world and leaves only stillness behind.
Those aligned with the Dark Side instead perceive the Nexus as an irritating, almost invasive presence accompanied by a gnawing nausea, while those who walk between Light and Dark are often caught within conflicting emotions that may shift from confusing to strangely lucid; in extreme cases, Force-sensitive individuals may suffer sudden fluctuations of prophetic visions, glimpsing fragmented possibilities of the future with little warning or certainty.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Wellspring
- At the center of the cavern rests an ancient wellspring, its clear waters unnaturally still, serving as the primordial root from which the Force Nexus derives its immense strength. Every current of the nexus appears to converge upon this hidden source, as though the surrounding stone and the Force itself were merely extensions of its existence, carrying its influence outward through the caverns and into the land above.
- Interlocking Cave System
- The interlocking cave system stretches beneath the ruins in a labyrinth of immense chambers and winding passages, their walls covered in ancient hieroglyphics, faded Jedi inscriptions, and remnants of the Order that once stood watch over the nexus. Scattered throughout the darkness are broken statues, weathered training relics, collapsed chambers, and other intangible traces of the Jedi presence, as though their memories have been absorbed into the stone itself. The deeper one ventures, the farther the cavern system seems to extend, its passages disappearing into blackness until it becomes difficult to believe the tunnels possess an end at all.
- Meditation Chambers
- The meditation chambers that survived the collapse remain remarkably intact, their ancient stone walls standing in quiet defiance of the ruin surrounding them, yet each chamber carries the palpable sensation of an immense Light Side presence. A profound stillness permeates the air, pressing gently against the senses with an almost overwhelming serenity, as though the Jedi who once meditated within these sanctuaries never truly departed. Across the floors, however, broken holocrons, shattered meditation relics, fractured statues, scattered lightsaber components, and other remnants of the Order lie beneath layers of dust, transforming these once-sacred places into solemn graves of a civilization long gone.
The history of the Jedi Temple is fractured, scattered across fragments of damaged inscriptions, incomplete archival entries, and half-remembered accounts left behind by an Order that vanished into the passage of centuries. What survives suggests that the Jedi Temple was constructed upon an ancient convergence of the Light Side of the Force, though the true origins of the site, and the identity of those who first discovered and guarded it, remain obscured beneath layers of ruin and time.
The convergence itself appears to have been older than the Temple, its presence embedded within the stone and caverns beneath the structure like a buried heartbeat. Much of its history remains unknown, preserved only in broken fragments that offer more questions than answers.
The current history of the site begins with Shae'ri Mor, a Junkyard Knight of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, whose exploration of the ruined Jedi Temple led her into the depths beneath its foundations. Guided by the Force ghost of Jedi Master Zor Wieto, Shae'ri descended through the ancient caverns until she was shown the wellspring at the heart of the Light Side convergence.
There, confronted by the immense serenity and power of the place, Shae'ri made her decision without hesitation; the wellspring would not become another weapon for those who sought power through the Dark Side. Its sanctity would be preserved, even if doing so required the strength of an Empire.
Acting under the orders of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant's Minister of Science, R'ayne Asara, Mahporeem forces secured the ruined Jedi Temple and the wellspring beneath it, placing the site under Imperial protection and ensuring that its power would remain guarded rather than exploited.
