  • Description: Cut deep into the crust of the planet itself, a result of Imperial hubris, and its desire to strip mine the world with haste and pettiness in mind, the Empire has so far left a continental-sized depression across the sacred planet of the Jedi. Seismic drills and their accompanying fleets of drones had thundered across the surface of Ilum, ruthlessly pillaging the world's supply of Kyber crystals with each passing hour. The strip mining of Ilum encompasses miles upon miles, with the most desolate and deepest trench being referred to as the Hollowed for its size, but also due to the concentration of Imperials who had been stationed there to protect their operation. After the Battle of Ilum, the Empire retreated, abandoning the operation in the process leaving a scar on the planet in their wake.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Control Hub: The brain of the massive operation. The control hub is the center where all operations are supervised and managed. The hub's workforce numbered about three hundred specialists, engineers, prospectors, and an administrative unit. The hub's height reaches just barely over the edge of the trench and is located in the most central position of the depression.
  • Seismic Drills: Numbering the hundreds at the height of the operation, a quarter of the drills had been completely atomized during the battle. The remaining three quarters remain either completely derelict or partially destroyed. Some of the drills had managed to dig a mile deep into the crust of the planet, as indicated by the molten lava visible from above.
