The Gulag Virus

I haven't been able to find any information about the virus other than the timeline. Can someone far more knowledgeable be able to tell me if infection means automatic death? If not, could it possibly affected a species in different ways? Had a cure ever been found? Has a PC ever found a cure? Do certain species have an immunity to it? Is there a probability that there is a 1% who is immune to it? ( Like in I am Legend)

Any input would be appreciated! Just wanted to write some background on my planet and I've some ideas tossing around in my head. No, it's not a cure or anything. :p

Alright, this is pretty simple. This was a board made thing, so you won't find it in wookieepedia. If people are immune, then that immunity was never discovered because no cure was ever produced. It just kind of faded out. Infection meant death, though how it was spread is unknown as it was never declared. People do not just get it and then get better. The symptoms might be different (don't know there) but the end result is death. I am confident in saying that no species is immune to it. Some planets did quarantine, but even that did not promise survival.

According to the Timeline, there have been no cases of the Gulag Virus in over a century. The mainstream theory is that contemporary galactic society has grown immune to the virus. Documentation was also bad up until recently, so knowledge about the Gulag Virus is about as hard to come around as the history of the galaxy in the past 400 years.

Ok, I knew it was a board made virus, but I just wanted to double check in regards to how folk can say how their planet's history was affected; Either by death, that small percentage who are immune to it, or whatever.

^_^ Thanks for the info though! So the general consencous is that nature simply fixed it xD
