The Grim Reminder (The Galactic Republic and I)

Korriban... Oh Korriban... How I miss thy use.

In the wastelands of Korriban near a former Sith temple, there was a 5'8" droid that looked strangely like Brock Lesnar. It was deactivated by the long dead Sith Lord named [member="Velok"] using Mecha-duru. But as the current owners of The Galactic Republic may learn soon... leaving it on the planet of Korriban and not reactivating it for the use of war was an error... and it's very presence is a grim reminder of The Sith Empire thanks to a crystal rumored to have been left next to it untouched.

Korriban... a world of darkness, of evil, of intrigue. Over the years dozens of factions and governments had claimed it as their own. Due to this, many relics could be found scattered about the planet. Somehow there always seemed to be something to be found there. Even after hundreds of years of sackings, invasions, and looting. Not that Svarin was complaining, really. On this planet she had a chance to find something to help her in her adventures. Something more than just a silver lightsaber. Yes, that was why she was here. Korriban had wonders to be plundered be people such as her. Well... the Republic had called this more of an exploration mission. Which explained the dozen or so other people with her. They were searching for something. Anything, really. The whole time they trudged along a Master was telling them the history of the area. Nothing to special. So far it didn't really sound like this place was worth searching. Rin frowned slightly as she walked along. Why couldn't they- SWOOSH! Sandy stone gave away beneath her feet, casting her down into the dark. Above her she could hear her companions calling for her. In response she threw a rock up to them. What? She was a mute, it's not like she could tell them she was moderately okay. They accepted the signal and started to look for an easy way to get her out. One of them suggested she force jump her way out. But at this point she wasn't listening anymore. Because there, right in front of her, was a very, very shiny object. A crystal of sorts. With a grin the Echani girl moved towards it, not noticing the droid nearby. For a moment she stood there, hand outstretched, wondering whether or not to grab it. It was then her gaze shifted to the metallic creature. He looked... familiar. Somehow. Quietly she turned towards it. Her right hand gently moved to caress it's cheek.

Who are you? She thought.
Something told her she'd soon find out.

Almost as if the crystal read her mind, it started to glow and bath the room in a sinister red light. Then a small lightning bolt came from the crystal and struck the droid! It's eyes began to glow white with a new life to them and the droid started to stagger as if very groggy and attempting to get it's bearings back from 2 full years of being inactive. Looks like she'll have her chance to find out.

Such a shiny thing. A marvelous little gem. One that Rin couldn't help, in all her broken-minded ways, could not keep her hands off of. Despite being unsure of what it was she snatched the crystal up just after it unleashed the energy. Quickly it was slid into one of her many pockets. Some sand, of course, got in as well. At least she wasn't wearing her best clothes. Just some unimportant robes she had been supplied with. Not even her official Jedi ones. Oh, yeah, the droid was activating. That was probably more important than her sandy garments.... Okay, it was, by far. Staggering back she eyed the metallic being with curiosity. And a pinch of fear. What was it? Why was it here? How had it activated? This was far more than the girl was capable of handling. Svarin was but a lowly apprentice. The matters of such a discovery were for those smarter than her. Which was why she latched unto several nearby rocks with the force and shot them back up out of the hole. Or at least she tried. Poor girl was still working on controlling herself. Instead of a few pebbles... a large chunk of rock leaped up into the air. It hurtled into the distance, landing with a loud thud. Everyone was rather lucky that it did not hit anyone. All suggestions about her leaping out of the pit were then put aside. Who knows how badly that would go? The master who was with them was, for the most part, a scholarly sort. They didn't really feel like jumping down any time soon. So they shouted at Rin, encouraging her to stay calm and stay put, before quietly looking for another way to reach her. Several of the padawans went with them. A few others stayed to help the Echani in whatever ways they could. Once more she did not seem to pay them any attention. For she was, for once, opening her mouth to speak. At the same time she signed her words, as she always did.

"What are you?"

A... mute padawan. The droid had never been in this predicament in it's 107 years of being active... then again, it was stuck in a factory guarding it for about 7 years. It then opened it's mouth, then closed it after not realizing it didn't know what to say to the Padawan... after a while of thinking, it opened it's mouth to speak again, this time to state what exactly it was.

"I am VAD001, a Vyperion Assassin Droid made by VyperTek Industries 107 years ago-wait... is it me, or did 2 years pass while I was inactive here?!"
