Private The Grim Adventures of Jonyna and Azzie

It wasn't often that Jonyna got to devolve into nostalgia these days. Talking with someone about her rebel history, showing off old war trophies.

But today she was excited to. Her fellow rebel jedi had agreed to meet her in the Temple Hanger, and Jonyna wanted to share her living space with her. The Reaper, a ship her group had stolen, and then retrofitted with the best credits could buy, at least on a rebel budget. The Cathar stood just outside the ship, the red starbird on the underside of the hull freshly repainted after all these years.

It'd wear off after a few trips, but she wanted Azzie to see she was still rocking the old logo.

Azurine couldn't have been more excited at the invitation to see Jonyna's ship, The Reaper. Despite her clear lack of sleep leaving dark black bags under her eyes and the paleness of her skin, there was an excitement radiating in her amethyst eyes. She hadn't really had the time, or sadly the energy, to see Jonyna since her journey to Illum, where she'd finally been able to earn her own Kyber Crystals—a cluster of three parts of the same crystal. Not long after, she'd received The Blades of Rebellion made from two of the three, a gift that had almost made her cry. The craftsmanship on them was stunning.

She was late, like with a good portion of things, but it certainly wasn't for lack of trying. Sprinting through the halls, she finally made her way to the hangar bay and skidded to a stop. Her eyes scanned for the Cathar, grinning when she spotted her next to the beauty of a ship. It was glorious, and it reminded her so much of The Outlyer, the old Nova Courier her team had used as their home base long before they settled on their little place on Utapau.

Azzie let out a whistle of amazement as she approached, though before she said anything, she quickly jumped forward and wrapped Jonyna in a quick hug. "I never got to thank you for the blades. They're beautiful!"

Taking a quick step back to admire the ship a bit more, she couldn't keep herself from staring at the starbird, clearly repainted. It brought sparkle to her eyes, whose edges had clouded to a smoky grey in recent days. "How's she handle? Is the maneuverability as good as the speed, or does one of them exceed the other?" She asked the questions before she could actually stop herself, lost in the possibilities of it.

Jonyna let out a chuckle, and a smile as she hugged the padawan back, suddenly being bombarded with questions. "She's fast, but she doesn't handle the best. She was never really meant to fight, more as a scout ship." Jonyna answered. "And it's no problem. I like making stuff, and I couldn't let a fellow rebel go without a few new tricks up their sleeve, yeah?"

Jonyna smirked, gesturing for her to follow. "Come on, let's get inside. I need to show you the Sabacc table we have. Just be careful, my racyon Guffy is a stinker who likes to steal whatever he can get his paws on. Oh, and Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze might be in the pool. Not sure, I didn't check. She sleeps in there sometimes." Jonyna chuckled, leading them into what seemed to be a small armory. A stormtrooper helmet sat next to a massive anti-tank rifle that seemed to be a hodgepodge of different imperial blaster rifles, as well as a handful of E-11s that Azurine were definitely the original models. In the back, A Quad Blaster sat unattended, next to a blaster pistol from Naboo. "These old puppies all have a story." Jonyna commented as she walked over to the latter. "Ask and I'll tell, if you'd like."

"If I was a fan of water, that would probably sound a lot more awesome to me than it did." Azurine joked, throwing out a tease at her own expense.

She grinned as she followed Jonyna inside, her fingers twitching slightly as she eyed the collection of weapons. "Fast but tricky to handle? Sounds like me on my worst days—or my best days, really." She quipped, running a hand along the edge of the anti-tank rifle. Her amethyst eyes danced with colors of mischief that made them look almost like a violet nebula as she inspected the hodgepodge of blasters, her horns glinting faintly in the dim light of the collections surrounding her.

"You weren't kidding about the stories," Azzie said, pausing in front of the Quad Blaster. "This one looks like it’s seen more action than a Mandalorian reunion. Did it always have that many barrels, or is that something you... improvised?"

She cast a glance back at Jonyna, her expression softening just slightly. "I appreciate you showing me all this. I wish I had this much left over from back then..." Pausing to shake away the pain, she pushed the sly expression back through her eyes. "And don’t worry, I’ll keep my eyes on Guffy. If he tries to swipe my sabers, I might have some strong words for him." Her smirk returned as she leaned against a crate, clearly eager to hear more about the tales behind the weapons with her raging curiosity burning through her—and maybe pick up a few tricks herself.

"That one, no. That was our den father's blaster. Bought it off the Ryloth Black Market for...probably triple it was worth. It's an old clone wars model that our group dad really wanted. Stormtroopers hated the thing, but it was a bit unwieldy at times." She chuckled, motioning the zabrak to follow her. Past a stormtrooper helm sitting along the mantle, claw marks dug into the front of it. "That's from a trooper I took the head off. Same day one of my crewmates revealed he was an imperial collaborator..." She growled at the thought. "That was a whole thing."

She led them over to a ladder, that led into a large living room area. Couches in a U shape placed in front of a glass table, and a holovision, while an old sabacc table set up, which seemed to be currently converted into a small dining room table. "Pop a squat wherever you want. I got a few snacks in the fridge." Jonyna smiled, wandering into a small kitchen attached to the living room, that also connected to a long hallway that led to the rest of the ship. "Speaking of credits, make sure to check if you had any accounts before you got frozen. They might've acrewed quite a bit of interest..."

Azurine trailed behind Jonyna, her sharp eyes scanning the room and taking in the stormtrooper helm with a soft snort of approval. "Nice touch," she muttered, a grin tugging at her lips. "Bet that guy had a real bad day."

The mention of an imperial collaborator made her expression darken momentarily, the fire in her eyes flaring. "That probably didn’t end well for them, karking idiot. No wonder you’ve got a few stories under your belt. We never had anyone stupid enough to try something like that, but back when my team had just met, Arch tried to turn Kynn in for a bounty because he was a Jedi. It didn't go well for any of us.” She stepped closer to the couches, turning back to glance toward Jonyna. "Luckily, he apologized for it, and they settled their differences pretty early. Arch was probably the closest thing to a little brother I had ... well, before Aris, anyway."

As Azzie entered the living area, her gaze scanned the setup. The U-shaped couches looked inviting, though the converted sabacc table caught her attention. “Nice use of space,” she remarked, her tone lightly approving. “Nothing says ‘home’ quite like a sabacc table doubling as a dining room centerpiece.” The faint nostalgic tone in her voice was softened by genuine curiosity as she stepped closer, running her fingers along the edge of the table before glancing toward the kitchen.

A sly grin crossed her face. She was never one to say no to getting to raid a fridge, especially when she could hear her stomach growl and she realized she had been too focused on other things throughout the day to remember to eat earlier. "As long as there's something other than pastries and fruit, that would be great. I would rather not have my guts wage war on me while on your ship."

She paused as she sat down, thinking heavily about it. "I didn't exactly have my own bank account. We pooled everything together and would pull what we thought we might need from there. We also did most of our dealings in chips rather than digitally. Less likely to be tracked." She said softly with a shrug. "I've been meaning to go back to Utapau again and actually make a thorough walkthrough. There were some places we used to hide credits in case we were ever raided that only the lead team ever knew about, and I bet 900-year-old out-of-print credits are worth a fortune now."

"It ended with him having to make a choice. Us or the imps. Kraden Besco Kraden Besco chose us in the end, but it was tense for a while. I think us adopting an old B-1 helped as a distraction enough for me not to want to stab the bastard. I was a lot more of a spitfire back then. Nowadays...I'm on a leash." She chuckled. "You'll be seeing a lot of Aris if you stick around the ship. He's got a room too, even if he's not as active as Rayia or Ko were. It's odd, ya know. I spent ten years living here, and my padawans...they have the luxury of having a temple to stay in. Still doesn't feel...right sleeping in the temple. Like I wasn't meant to."

She shook her head, trying not to dwell on those sorts of feelings. Fate had given them both the chance to have the life they were denied by the Empire. Why act as if that's a bad thing?

The thought of fruit knocked her out of that looping train of thought, causing her to let out a snort. "I'm making us steak, thank you very much. Steak and pasta, meal of champions. Just wait till the flavors start wafting, you'll be drooling from that couch."

It was nice. Having a fellow rebel in the ship for once. She'd invited Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah before, but it never seemed to line up for them. "I can head to Utapau if you want. We are in a ship. I started Si Tech off the back of my sudden fortune. Worst case scenario, you find out they're only worth a few and ya buy yourself something nice for the day."
