Intent: A way for Lanax Grayson to fix minor to moderate issues with droids, slice computers and technology, open most locked doors. (unless it falls into god modding territory) As time goes on it will have other handle functions. (after resubmission of course)

Development Thread: If needed

Manufacturer: Grayson Industries

Model: Droid Screwdriver MX-550

Affiliation: Grayson Industries

Modularity: Can receive upgrades to the software.

Production: Unique, 1 in existence

Material: Duresteel, Ionite from Mayferria, a focus crystal which makes the blue light and gives it more range and power to do what is needed.

Description:

Lanax Grayson created this shortly after creating his HRD Morgan to be able to fix her or correct data inside her without always opening her up as he wanted her to become more like a human than a droid and opening a human would be weird. After constantly locking doors and loosing his tiny key cards he added it with advanced slicing abilities that he uses to unlock doors. He gave it a memory core that can store and sort information using logical clues and logic to make connections. Over time it will be able to scan people, objects, starships and other items like this to get information about them like a futuristic google. It cannot be used as a weapon against organics, but can disable droids for a short amount of time if need be.
Functions:
Droid repair - Aside from repairs that require physical repair, this remote can access a droid's command panel and fix or change the software. While most control panels do require a password so Lanax can only do this to droids he knows the password to which are usually his own. Using electric waves from the remote to droid, it accesses the mainframe making downloads and moderation possible.
Disabling Droids - Lanax will send a spike through his device into the droid. He will then disable droids sending them into a reboot. Depending on the model this could effect the time. most Droids aside from HRDs take a minute to reboot. As the tech is updated, the spikes become better to disable droids.
Slicing- Just like repairing the droids, the device access a computer mainframe and able to slice through it. It's ability to slice is based on the user's ability and cannot do anything that the user couldn't normally do. The user needs to be within 15 feet to do this.
Unlocking doors- This ability accesses a door switching it from locked to unlocked. Unless the door is made to resist slicing.
Data storage and access- As he scans organics and other objects it accesses a Galactic database that if the information is public can be accessed and displayed on a small screen on the middle of the device. If it is not public it must have been learned and stored from a previous encounter.
Screwdriver- Uses magnetic waves to control screws and other things such as nuts and bolts to act like a real tool. Must be within a foot of the item. The magnetic waves use polarity to rotate and remove objects that binds it. This only works on Lanax control items, but not on tech that god modding would be in play if Lanax used this function. Does not work on wood.

Primary Source: While based off the Sonic Screwdriver, it is made to be a Star Wars item to give Lanax the ability to do things he could normally do just without opening the items off

Under Review.

I highly suggest elaborating on what this does; I have never seen Doctor Who so while I am aware what this is based on, I have no idea what this would be implied to do.

Well it isn't meant to be the thing from Doctor Who because that would break the rule of plagerism. It is basically a slicer, droid repairing tool, droid disabler, Google search engine screwdriver. It is made to counter balance that Lanax doesn't fight, fly ships or anything awesome, he just fixes things and builds things. It is meant to give him an edge of he needs to escape.

Is this better?

Also, would it be too much to call it a Sonic Screwdriver? I don't want to fall into plagiarism, but I wonder if this item would be bad to bring to star wars and call it a sonic screwdriver?

I know I have seen Sephiroth's sword and ships from other shows...

I'd like to see about a paragraph per subject to explain exactly how things work.

Also, I would shy away from such - the symbolism of the image and the name draw it a little too close to that unhappy border.

I can if need be, but is it absolutely necessary? I ask that because it is not your traditional AI not will it ever be. It is not intelligence that mirrors human intelligence, but instead it takes in information and using an AI it stores and develops the information stored. For example, if I give it I normative in one person and then that person's sister it can use logic to file away that they are possibly related.

Again I can do the requirement, just checking.

That is not artificial intelligence, simply change the name of what you are calling it.

Dearest me, I did not catch that and changed the one in the description, sincere apologizes for the pain I have caused with this submission.

Also, I am making temps for a bunch of different droids for mass production (a faction is spending 2 mil on a big order) How many submissions am I able to make at a time? I remember months ago reading something on that, but not sure where.

Three submissions are allowed in each section of the factory at a time. Congratulations on the contract, though.

Also, this is pending secondary - just don't expect this to be able to unscrew every screw or something like that.
