PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Generator is a unique device that allows Vash to greatly exceed his own strength in the force. And is the only thing he has created that allows him to truly stay focused for an extended period of time. First, by using it which is a process of its own, the Generator actually takes his focus, and gives it back to him but with a constant push on it influenced by his intentions at the start of using it, and then keeping that push until he is done. This also results in abnormal use of the force. Already as a Vran it is common to use the force without the use of external body movements. The Generator heightens that even further. Nearly separating his use of the force from his body entirely. And, if he is focused enough, nearly his own mind. When he goes that far, he obtains considerable awareness through the force seeing through it rather than his actual senses.
  • Vash’s blood is an important part of the device. By using his blood it allows him a direct connection to it, especially when near it. The closer to it and more focused on it, the more it grants him power. At the same time, should another person use it, a portion of that strength it gives out, goes to him instead.
STRENGTHS
  • Increased strength in the force considerably
  • Helps Vash focus considerably (helps others as well but to a lesser extent)
  • Grants him strength in the force no matter who uses it
  • Tendency to grant greater awareness through the force when sufficiently focused in it
  • Due to its connection to Vash he can essentially locate it no matter where it is, and has greater influence over it inherently.
  • Heavy focus on dark side power.
  • Can have lasting effects of dark side corruption, thus potentially increasing the power in it.
WEAKNESSES
  • The item itself could be broken by most weaponry. Even cutting off one of the steel sides would utterly disrupt the Generator. Vibro blades, blasters, even a strong enough wookie could simply bend it out of shape causing it to become disrupted.
  • Technically can be used by people other than Vash. While this does grant him power, it still means it could potentially be used against him.
  • Vash has to begin his connection while near it, and looking or touching it. If he loses that connection, he’d have to repeat it again to get it back.
  • The further he strays from it the weaker the connection can get. If he gets far enough away, it may simply sever.
  • Can be vulnerable to being “purified” by some lightside powers.
  • Is reliant on the force to be used. If there is a reason that the force cannot be used, than the Generator is no more than a nice decoration.
  • Does not inherently grant greater insight into the force. While he may be able to grow better by using it, he would have to learn those powers or gifts while using it, rather than just gaining them by using it (aside from those already mentioned)
  • The Generator is something that can be detected by force users. While at rest it may be relatively easy to miss, when being used it would be very noticeable to those used to detecting such things.
  • Could corrupt a light sider using it, or begin to limit someone to the darkside more than they were before.
DESCRIPTION
The Generator is an orb made out of a Force Crystal, inside of which Vash put his own blood, he then surrounded that with steel. During every little step of this, Vash used various methods of alchemy. Rather than creating one thing that he used alchemy on, each part of The Generator was made using alchemic processes that were entirely useless on their own and only when connected together created something far more powerful. The Generator grants focus and strength in the force whenever used, which must be done nearby it, and while Vash gains most greatly when using it himself, no matter who does use it he will still gain a portion of that which it gives in return. As a result the Generator is of great use when more proficiency and power is necessary, at the downcost of potentially limiting the users movement as they either must protect it should someone realize it’s the source, or are focused entirely on it, and as a result are likely either motionless or not moving fast to maintain the utmost efficiency with the Generator.

Unlike most weapons in the force that are designed to increase the users skill, the Generator lacks the weaponized capacity that they do. In fact it is barely more durable than it was before being alchemized. As a result The Generator is best kept away, or at least out of reach, of actual opponents. Leaving the user reliant on the force itself primarily to fuel their efforts. In Vash’s case, it is an excellent tool for actually making even more alchemic designs faster. Or to maximize his telepathic abilities to reach far beyond where he normally could. Or, should it prove necessary, use it in battle, often by focusing almost exclusively on telekinesis and similar abilities, and sensing through the force more than through his own eyes and ears. In a sense it acts as a push for a being closer to the force than they were before.

However, much like Vash himself, The Generator is an exclusively dark sided creation. Limited to the dark side, with the same strengths and weaknesses of the dark side. And, one of those, is corruption. Whether or not it shows on a person, The Generator pushes an individual closer to the dark side through its use.
