The construction of gates in the form of a Waystone Aperture powered by a Lodestone Sphere was something Braze needed to get done if they wanted to have any success. He'd asked Leos to come join him when his usual chores and up keep were finished.

For now, several pieces of material lay scattered across the wide open plains. What he intended to build would require a great deal of it, far more than was convenient, and Braze worried that having only two gates would prove a problem… He needed to ensure their escape from the planet, and knew all too well that if they relied on a single location, it could be destroyed leaving them trapped like fish in a barrel for the Sith.

But before they could get that far, he still needed to assemble the gates and ensure they worked. To that end, he had put out a request to other Jedi, asking aid in the endeavor. The gates would have to be sizable for what they needed.

novac had seen the request for jedi to come help build something called a "waystone"had no idea what it was and was at first going to ignore it until he saw braze send the request. 'hm a fellow jedi is wanting to build this? then its probably nothing bad, might as well help out' he thought. he loaded his e-b load lifter droids into his morat and headed down to the planet. he'd modified them a bit to also do maintenance around his frigate so they'd be perfect to bring along.

on landing all of the droids filed out and stood by the ship ready for orders. novac came out behind them stretching pulling his 4 arms up and behind his back. after the stretch he slithered up to braze "hey, heard you where needing help making something? i brought some droids with me to help as well. so whatcha making anyway?" he asked with a smile. novac always like to make stuff, usually droids or his ship, but he could most likely figure his way around a good amount of technology.

"Welcome," Braze greeted. "And thank you for your assistance."

"We'll be building five Waystone Aperture devices… or otherwise known as gates. They function in a similar fashion to hypergates," Braze explained. "Essentially, they are portals that let us fold space."

He let that sit for a moment, glancing over the gathered materials scattered across the open plain.

"We need a few of them to interact with one another for our operation, because the planet of Dromund Kaas is heavily fortified inside and out… so our real way in would be through a portal, or gate, like these." His expression tightened faintly,

"But… if they are found and destroyed, that will trap our team on the planet," he offered.

"ah i see, cant say i'd want to be on that planet. i dont really have experience making anything like this buuut im sure i can figure out some way to help at least do some heavy lifting if thats all, which i doubt. also im assuming you have some kimd of cloak or anti scanner for this thing right?" novac had never seen much less worked on one of these before, it was an impressive piece of tech thats for sure. "so, where do we begin?" he said looking down at braze with a smile.

Braze produced a simple blue and gold holocron from his person and held it up, activating it with a soft turn of his fingers.

“We’ll be using arcanistry for this,” he explained simply. “A cloak would help, yes… but not just an ordinary one. These gates can’t only be hidden from sight. They need to be hidden from scanners, from pattern analysis, from curious minds, and from anything that might notice a strange pressure in the Force... Location can help with this. ”

He shifted the holocron in his palm, letting the pale blue projection spill across the ground between them. Lines, rings, and layered sigils slowly arranged themselves into a hovering schematic.

“We need to assemble material gateways of roughly the same size for each paired set. I want six made in total, but in pieces that can be transported to their destinations and installed more easily. The stonework gives the aperture its body. The Lodestone Sphere gives it direction. The kyber and carved glyphs help anchor the Force into a stable shape, so the passage doesn’t shear, collapse, or bleed energy everywhere.” Braze crouched beside the nearest slab of stone and traced a careful circle above it without touching the surface.

“The carvings have to be clean. Not pretty, exactly, but deliberate. A sloppy line can make the whole thing drift out of tune, and I really, really don’t want one of these opening three feet to the left of where it’s supposed to. Or halfway inside a wall.” He glanced up at Novac, lips pressing into a brief, uneasy little line as pensive thoughts crossed his young mind.

“So… for the anti-scanner part... what do you think we should do?” He gestured toward the load-lifter droids.

“If you and your droids can start moving the largest anchor stones into six matched sets, I can mark where the grooves need to be cut. Try to keep the paired stones as similar as possible. Same weight, same size, same density if you can manage it. The more alike they are, the easier it’ll be for the gates to recognize each other.” Braze’s expression softened into something small and sheepish.

“And, um… thank you for coming. I know this probably sounds like a very strange arts-and-crafts project, but if things go badly on Dromund Kaas, these gates might be the difference between everyone getting home, and... everyone being trapped there.”

hmm seems like everything had been planned out well. good, the markings he might have a droid do, more accurate, his hands may shake or something and someone ending up in a wall sounds like a awful way to go. "you sure put a lot into this huh, cant blame you. its your people you want to make sure are safe, i'd be extremely careful and thorough to. as for making sure the stones are the samesize, could always a saber to get a perfect cut. but getting the stones in place should be a breeze. force and loader droids together will make this fast, or at least a lot faster then."
what about making sure they arent detected, he thought for a moment, "i know there use to be a type of anti scanner that was used for hiding jedi temples, that was ages ago though. have to look into it a bit. well that will be something to deal with later, for now" turning to his droids "lets get these stones moved into place, and you heard him about matching them up you can" all of the droids at once started to move, analyzing what stones would be best to put where and started to move them. it was going to be a slow process but it'll be steady.
as braze thanked novac he put his bottom right hand on braze's shoulder smiling, "of course, these are your people and you want them safe, i'll gladly do what i can to help with that. besides i've worked on weird stuff before, not anything close to this mind you but im use to doing "weird arts and crafts" as you put it" he said the last part with a bit of a chuckle then went to go help the droids. he made sure to check with the droids on which stone should go where as they could analyze and calculate far better then he could.

"Well… my people are more likely on Eshan," Braze offered softly, "but I think my people are more so the Jedi."

He let that sit for a breath before continuing.

"We will be rescuing slaves from the most dangerous and most fortified of all the Sith power bases. And we can't just hack through the stone with sabers. Sabers are amazing, but they would melt the rock; it wouldn't be a clean cut. They just aren't the best tool for this kind of work."

His gaze lowered, thoughtfully.

"I think we can come up with environmental projection domes to place over the top of them… or maybe just find a nice secluded spot to set them in."

as novac was helping move some rocks he looked over at braze "oh i didn't mean your people in that way. but saving slaves huh. that's a bit more serious then "weird arts and crafts". i see why you want to make sure this works." this was a bit more then what he thought. novac at first thought he had a team or something on the planet he was trying to get out safely, this was more, and more reason to not screw up."oh yea it'd just melt duh. hm environmental projection could definitely be good, though might need something else for scanners but still would be good."
