A single star destroyer emerged from hyperspace at Donadus, it was a small relatively insignificant planet by galactic standards, it had a sordid history with piracy and a relatively small population. Still their fledgling navy was being formed and they had reached out to The Directorate as well as other factions to supervise their wargames and at the same time assist with security. Razanil walked onto the bridge with a datapad in his hand before he handed it off to his second in command. He looked out the window at the small fleet, it was humble beginnings much like The Directorate for the moment. He turned his eyes to the small space station where they would be observing from and then turned to to address, he who would command in his absence.

“Any approaching ship is to be allowed access unless our hosts object, in which case you are free to deal with at your discretion. Remember we are guests here follow their rules”

With that he turned and left the bridge making his way to the hangar, it took only a few minutes before a small shuttle took off and approached the station, transmitting its codes before it was allowed to land aboard the station. One of the locals had arrived to greet him as he disembarked the shuttle.

“Admiral, welcome to Donadus” the being extended a hand to him, Razanil reached out and accepted the gesture. “Thank you for the invitation, I would very much like to see what your forces are capable of and how we may assist in your endeavors to defeat the piracy in your system” not everything had to be decided on a battlefield at times a simple dialogue would be enough to sway allegiances, something not everyone understood, however Razanil did. “Tell me more of your people. To be frank, I have not much of you before we received the invitation.” The alien began to prattle on and he listened, knowledge was never a bad thing one should always make informed decisions and know who they are dealing with, in truth he knew more than he let on but hearing things first hand was always much more practical also it was easy to see the ones who liked to talk.

The Confederacy would not involve itself in the affairs of others without cause or invitation. It just so happened, Donadus was interested in larger organizations or governments than themselves in learning how to present a greater deterent to local pirates. Supply lines did not at present warrant extending a formal offer to the system, but that was not a death kneel to the idea. Sending an advisor would hardly be considered a move of aggression by anyone. So the task was, eventually, handed down to Fleet Marshall Tyrias Aran. Commander Jamieson would be quite capable of handling Dauntless mobility affairs in her absence -- a matter that should be relatively short lived.

Ferried aboard another vessel, the Chiss officer stood aboard the Destroyer's bridge as it dropped out of hyperspace. A flurry of reports about another Star Destroyer being in the system and assessing its tactical disposition toward their arrival were flung about. After it was confirmed the Directorate ship was not locking weapons on them or demonstrating an intent to engage in battle, however, the Fleet Marshall stepped forward. "Captain."

With a nod, Tyrias was given leave to depart the ship. Plans would be drawn up for rapid extraction if what was supposed to be a humble advisorship turned 'messy.'

One leg crossed over the other, hands atop her knee, the Fleet Marshal watched as her shuttle departed and made straight for the nearby space station. The Directorate's presence and that of their Star Destroyer hadn't altered the blue woman's countenance. She didn't want to disappoint people by being anything but a picturesque Chiss woman, after all. Though some seemed a touch unnerved by the light mirth that graced her lips, as though the Fleet Marshall were perpetually amused by something, but refrained from any outbursts.

Dressed in appropriate Naval attire, Tyrias strode off her shuttle once they had landed.

"Fleet Marshal, we're pleased you could come." The man extended a hand as Tyrias spared a moment to visually survey her surroundings.

The Chiss woman returned the gesture, only her grip held fast after the customary period. "Will there be others joining us today?" Question asked, she released the captive hand not wanting to progress from intimidation to outright threatening.

A slight hike in the lip gave away the man's feelings. "Well," he gestured for them to proceed into the facility, "we weren't entirely sure the Confederacy was coming, and we thought commanders from two governments facing off might provide a deeper educational benefit for more of our personnel."

"Of course."
Well, no matter. If they wished a more chaotic experience of two experienced commanders ordering inexperienced personnel about so be it. "I look forward to learning more about you, your assets, and the other Commander you have invited to join us," Tyrias replied graciously. There was no need to withdraw because of such a minor alteration in their collective expectations.

In short order Tyrias was escorted into the briefing room where details about the engagement could occur. Nothing was out of place except for the equally blue male. A Chiss man. The Ascendancy... No, he must have been with The Directorate. But why would he be so far from home? He might have the same thought about her, but she knew her own backstory. Already the shape of things to come was becoming clearer... Undoubtedly the men and women of Donadus' naval fleet were not prepared.

"A pleasant surprise." It certainly did not hurt to see one of her own so far from home. "I am Fleet Marshall Tyrias Aran, here in an advisory capacity only to aid this system in bolstering its ability to defend itself against pirates and if necessary invading worlds."

Razanil stood in the conference room talking with one of the Donadi that was to take part in the exercise, since he had arrived they had been discussing at length the Donadi culture as well as their government on the surface at least they seemed more than happy to discuss things with people, in short they were far too trusting which would explain the piracy problem. He was listening intently when a curious sound took him out of his conversation, another voice, female, curious he raised a hand to the man he was speaking with "One moment I believe and introduction is in order" turned to investigate and was a touch surprised at what he saw, a young chiss woman perhaps twice his junior he was not exactly sure but regardless seeing another Chiss was always a pleasant surprise..

“Fleet Marshall? ah yes the Confederacy” he smiled at her for a moment before he moved toward her and extended a hand in greeting. “It is so rare to meet another of our kind out here, pleased to make your acquaintance Fleet Marshall Aran. I am Admiral Razanil with The Directorate. I assume you have found out as well that our esteemed hosts are keen on seeing what we can do as opposed to having us simply observe. I have assured them I am more than happy to take part. I do so hope you will take up the challenge, it’s been quite a long time since I have faced one of my own.”

Like the woman his thoughts were the same, the Donadi were not ready for what was about to transpire, they were about to see something outsiders would rarely see two Chiss, species who are renowned for tacicts and strategy match wits in a wargame representing two totally different political ideologies an interesting turn of events that Razanil was more than happy to explore.

Tyrias accepted the man's hand as she met his eyes that were a hair higher than her own. "Admiral Razanil," she echoed in acknowledgement. Best they use the names outsiders could pronounce in their company. Besides, it was something personal to keep to themselves. Not that the Chiss ascribed to some archaic belief like Name Magic or some equally foolish notion.

"I gathered as much." Two factions represented with advisors well versed in actual combat? Yes, they undoubtedly thought this would turn out in their favor. They weren't wrong -- it they were prepared. This, however, was not a year-long assignment where they'd whip an entire fleet into shape, discuss the finer points of evaluation and documentation, and cap the entire affair with a lengthy analysis ship-by-ship. No, instead they'd have a few hours (perhaps) to discuss the general scenario and hope the crews were no so inexperienced they were left asking 'how do I do that?' every time an order was given.

"Have we already begun discussing the particulars of the exercise? They must be anxious to begin," Tyrias replied, accepting her participation in whatever form. Being an 'advisor' after all was a political notion meant to assure anyone else in the surrounding region the Confederacy wasn't invading.

More to the point, she added, "I look forward to discussing the outcome." Perhaps some Donadus personnel would be equally capable, but Chiss-to-Chiss they could talk at length about what they did or did not do and why. Under the circumstances victory or defeat did not matter. Learning from the exercise was the entire point; they could save a matter of pride for genuine combat.

Not that Tyrias planned on going easy on Razanil. He most certainly wouldn't.
