He stood in the elevator as it took him to the entrance of the arena; gripping a vibrosword in each hand, he held his head down as he focused for the upcoming fight. The roar of the crowd as they chanted his name grew louder as the elevator continued to rise; to him they were singing the end of his opponent. He was letting the crowd thirst for blood fuel him, empower him, allowing there chant to give rise to the blood lustin him, and drive his humanity deeper in his psychosis. He didn’t want to feel an ounce of sorrow or pity for his opponent, when he drives each of his vibroblades into his opponent body.
The elevator stopped with a slight rumble, Rowen opened his eyes, and let out a deep breath. Using it to blow away the last of emotions, he wanted to be dead emotionally for this fight, like all his other fights. He didn’t want to feel anything as he striped his opponent of his life, lest he be hunted from this experience and all others. That in the end was what Rowen did to cope with the lifestyle of a gladiator; the booze had also helped him drown away his emotions whenever he got the chance to drink. The last thing he wanted was to lose his edge, and with it his life. He couldn’t afford to lose his life, though he had been in this lifestyle for as long as he could remember. He did dream of freedom, he wanted to live the life that he wished, but he didn’t know how to earn his freedom other than from his winnings.
He would pay for his freedom the first chance he gets, but as his mind dwelled on the chance for freedom, so his desire to end this fight quickly flourished within him. His passion to survive, to live, began to drive him deeper into a blood rage. The doors of the elevator opened exposing the arena, he saw the massive crowd that encircled the arena itself. It was a sea of different races of humans, aliens, and near humans. All of them there to quench their thirst for blood, and Rowen was more than happy to quench it for them. He would spill all of the blood his opponent had, and appease these vultures. Stepping out from the elevator shaft, he could feel the sand underneath his boots, despite how heavily armored he was.
As he stood looking on strangely, an earthquake erupted, shaking the arena itself, Rowen in shock stood where he was as he tried to make sense of what was going on. As the earthquake continued he began to hear a voice.
“Sir? Are you alright? Do you need help?”
He looked around, to see who was speaking to him, but where there was the elevator and the arena, now he stood utter darkness.
“Sir, are you ok? Is everything alright?”
The voice said loudly accompanied by a violent shake, and with it Rowen began to fall in the void he was floating in, fear swelled in his heart as he fell. Soon he became surrounded by a white light; next he saw himself being shaken by a stranger. In a panic Rowen grabbed the stranger arm, and snapped it in two. As the stranger started to scream out in pain, Rowen stopped panicking. He quickly got up from the floor; his face at first in shock soon gave way to a stone cold expression.
“Next time leave me alone.”
Rowen said though he could feel the cold sweet on his face. He looked at his datapad, and saw that he had arrived on Coruscant. Grabbing his belonging he started to exit the transport ship he was on, soon he would begin a new journey, and hopefully bring peace to his past.
