The games begin

He stood in the elevator as it took him to the entrance of the arena; gripping a vibrosword in each hand, he held his head down as he focused for the upcoming fight. The roar of the crowd as they chanted his name grew louder as the elevator continued to rise; to him they were singing the end of his opponent. He was letting the crowd thirst for blood fuel him, empower him, allowing there chant to give rise to the blood lustin him, and drive his humanity deeper in his psychosis. He didn’t want to feel an ounce of sorrow or pity for his opponent, when he drives each of his vibroblades into his opponent body.

The elevator stopped with a slight rumble, Rowen opened his eyes, and let out a deep breath. Using it to blow away the last of emotions, he wanted to be dead emotionally for this fight, like all his other fights. He didn’t want to feel anything as he striped his opponent of his life, lest he be hunted from this experience and all others. That in the end was what Rowen did to cope with the lifestyle of a gladiator; the booze had also helped him drown away his emotions whenever he got the chance to drink. The last thing he wanted was to lose his edge, and with it his life. He couldn’t afford to lose his life, though he had been in this lifestyle for as long as he could remember. He did dream of freedom, he wanted to live the life that he wished, but he didn’t know how to earn his freedom other than from his winnings.

He would pay for his freedom the first chance he gets, but as his mind dwelled on the chance for freedom, so his desire to end this fight quickly flourished within him. His passion to survive, to live, began to drive him deeper into a blood rage. The doors of the elevator opened exposing the arena, he saw the massive crowd that encircled the arena itself. It was a sea of different races of humans, aliens, and near humans. All of them there to quench their thirst for blood, and Rowen was more than happy to quench it for them. He would spill all of the blood his opponent had, and appease these vultures. Stepping out from the elevator shaft, he could feel the sand underneath his boots, despite how heavily armored he was.

As he stood looking on strangely, an earthquake erupted, shaking the arena itself, Rowen in shock stood where he was as he tried to make sense of what was going on. As the earthquake continued he began to hear a voice.

“Sir? Are you alright? Do you need help?”

He looked around, to see who was speaking to him, but where there was the elevator and the arena, now he stood utter darkness.

“Sir, are you ok? Is everything alright?”

The voice said loudly accompanied by a violent shake, and with it Rowen began to fall in the void he was floating in, fear swelled in his heart as he fell. Soon he became surrounded by a white light; next he saw himself being shaken by a stranger. In a panic Rowen grabbed the stranger arm, and snapped it in two. As the stranger started to scream out in pain, Rowen stopped panicking. He quickly got up from the floor; his face at first in shock soon gave way to a stone cold expression.

“Next time leave me alone.”

Rowen said though he could feel the cold sweet on his face. He looked at his datapad, and saw that he had arrived on Coruscant. Grabbing his belonging he started to exit the transport ship he was on, soon he would begin a new journey, and hopefully bring peace to his past.

Coruscant

A blue-haired Jedi Knight was tinkering around her Starfighter on the public-level landing pad only a few dozen meters above Rowan. Tasking her Astromech droid towards menial tasks as she operated on the port engine. She turned her head and spit down the ladder. Noticing that Rowan's transport ship was arriving on the public pad beneath her. Of course, she simply rubbed her glove against her brow and set back to work. She was paying for parking by the hour. Ugh. Good grief.

Xardus rested in a nearby cantina, sipping on his drink in silence. He looked around at the other sentients, all seemingly uncaring of anything but their alcohol. This really wasn't his type of crowd, but he told himself he needed a break from his training anyway. Finishing his drink, he payed the bartender and walked out, heading to the landing platforms to check on his ship.

As the stranger continued to scream, and at times hurl profanities towards Rowen. As a crowd started to gather, Rowen went to gather what little of his belongings that he still had. Aside from the clothes he was wearing, his data pad and a leather jacket. He left the transport ship, only to be greeted by the darkness of the landing pad. He had expected to see the lights and glitz of the planet, instead he saw darkness. It didn’t matter, to him at least, looking around he saw a sign that pointed to the top floors as private landing pads.

He shrugged his shoulders, he was technically new to the planet, the only other times he came was when he was a gladiator. The first couple times he never saw anything, but the arena’s that were at some of the lowest levels. He knew that hitching a ride with someone could help with him getting to the Jedi Temple quicker then him getting their himself. How dark the landing pad was, reminded him the first couple times he came to Coruscant. Which was in a glorified livestock trailer, at the time didn’t bother him. Yet now he wondered how his owner wasn’t caught. He walked down a corridor making his way to the private landing pad; he made some leeway when someone had stopped him.

“Give me all the creds you got.”

Rowen heard a voice said from within the shadow of the corridor. Rowen was taken back at first, wondering what was going on.

“Hey I said gime all your creds.”

Rowen looked around, to see a near human holding a pistol at him. Rowen let out a sigh, this guy wanted to die. Even though Rowen was unarmed, and this person had a blaster, in Rowen eyes this was going to be an easy fight. With a smirk Rowen lunged at the stranger, and then the corridor echoed blaster shots.

Xardus walked casually to his ship. Checking the externals, everything seed to still be in order. He was about to enter it but heard a sound... Listening for another second, he recognized it as blaster fire. He grinned and took off in that direction. Finally, some action on this planet. Sprinting toward the sound, he saw two men wrestling for a gun. He ignited his orange blade and charged the both of them, leaping into the air.

Karen raised her head as her astromuch offered a beeping reply,

"I don't know R2? What could it be?"

She seemed puzzled and confused by the ensuing altercation. Though it was the Force Energies of Xardus that perked her curiosity even higher. Something was happening nearby.

"Look. Trouble over there. People are sprinting. ...Here. Finish the pre-flight without me. I'm going to go look."

She summoned her double-saber to her belt and went chasing off to try and locate Xardus' combat focus. The Force was swirling now.
