Eighteen Years Ago
Dathomir

Kamon strode wistfully through the village, looking at everything as he went. As an outsider there were people who did not wish his presence near them, and he gave their wishes the utmost respect. Still, he had good reason to be there. This was the home of his Padawan, Satara Hawk, who was now a Jedi Knight in her own right. The young woman was, by all accounts, a rousing success. He was proud of her.

Now he was searching for her with another purpose in mind. He'd had a dream. When Kamon had dreams as vivid as the one he'd had, which had only happened once before when he'd had an alternate reality dream which led him to a Sith Master whom he brought to the light, he knew that there was something important with them. For that reason he wasn't going to ignore it.

Knowing that she was there, he could feel her, he walked along and waited for her to come out to meet him. This topic he was going to broach with her was not one that would likely be easily accepted. He fully expected her to reject what he was going to propose, but she was the only person that he could trust with this task. She was his closest friend and confidant. No one else fit that bill in the slightest. This would have to work.

The Clan Mother had just finished a meeting the elders of her clan. It was one of those exhausting ones where the old Witches kept pushing the issue of Spider Clan that lay deep within their mountain. There were often times of peace but time and time again, the issue would be revisited. Though the Singing Mountain Clan was a good clan, its Witches were warriors. After everything had had transpired, generation after generation, the issue of the Nightsisters on their territory was often revisited. Satara listened to them all and addressed their words. There were times when it was hard for her to explain to them, and this was one of them, that now was not the time to strike. The losses from the last attack on their clan had been great. Not just for her family but for the entire clan. They were of course fueled by all of it.

When the meeting finally came to an end, Satara retreated to her home, finding her mate with their youngest. The child reached out for her and brought a smile to the woman's face. "Come, Elayne, let's have a walk you and I. Lets leave Pa'tre back to his work," Satara suggested and planted a kiss on her mate's cheek before she picked up the three year old, carrying her out. The two found their resting place in the field, in the very edges of their territory. Satara sat in the grass and sat her daughter beside, letting her entertain herself for a bit with nature that was around them. After so many children, Satara knew what to do with a child at this age, knew that talking to them was important. She intended to do just that today, just as she talked to her each day, telling her stories and educating her on what a Witch was. Of course, she was young, too young. But her voice was what would guide her, teach her. She also needed to learn from her voice about their language, make it her own.

But before the woman could do it, she felt a presence not to far from them. Reaching out into the Force, Satara focused on the presence and felt its familiarity. "Elayne, you get to meet Ma'dri's trainer," she said then and picked up the little girl, walking towards where she felt her Jedi Master. All the while she walked, she whispered to her daughter in their native language about things they passed by, things they would. It was important to her that her children could speak both Paecean and Galactic Basic. The times required of them just that.

Finally seeing her Master where he stood, she whispered to Elayne one last time, this time to tell her in Pacean that the man was a Jai, an Elder of his people. Then she approached him with her brown haired and brown eyed daughter, speaking to him in Basic. "Welcome, Master. What brings you to Dathomir?"

Eventually she came as he knew that she would. He knew her. She was often busy dealing with things amongst her people and that was why he had not been in a hurry to draw her out to meet him. The reason he was there was not so grievous or important that he had to draw her from her work in order to entertain him. Besides, this woman was his friend and he would never force her away from what was important to her.

The much younger Kamon walked towards her and her child with a smile on his lips. He loved children. They could make the toughest times in ones life enjoyable by doing the simple things that children did and bringing a smile to your face. It was, indeed, children that had brought him to this world to seek out Satara.

"Hello, Satara," he said, bowing his head to her before he looked to the little one in her arms. "And hello to you, too, little one."

Reaching out to the child, he tapped her lightly on the nose with a smile. If all he did was get a little giggle out of her or a smile then he would be happy. Of course he couldn't linger on the child. If he wasn't there for something else, he wouldn't have minded playing games with the little one. But Satara had asked what brought him to Dathomir so he focused on her, smile wavering just a little.

"I've come to talk to you about a favor. It's a very... odd favor. Not something I would normally ask of someone, and not something I would ask of anyone but you. Is there somewhere we can go and talk where there are no extra ears that might hear?"

"Hello, Master," the Witch greeted the man once more in return, as per the traditions of the Jedi with whom she had trained. On Dathomir, there were no Masters, only Mistresses but she had spent time with the outsiders enough and the man had earned her respect to carry such a unique title, the differences in titles were irrelevant in the fact. "This is Elayne," she told Kamon then, rising her daughter just enough for him to have a better look at the child but also for Elayne to see the man a little better. As soon as he reached out for her nose, the three year old reached out for him, catching his finger for a second before releasing it, giggling in the process, causing her mother to smile.

He had come for a favor, a very odd one. Satara titled her head slightly, listening to the man as she adjusted her daughter in her arms. Could they speak somewhere more privately? Satara looked around for a bit and reached out with the Force, feeling they were alone here. Her Witches were further in, some within and around the stronghold while others in other open fields. "We can talk here. Less ears in open fields then around curious trees." Did she mean trees were in fact curious? Satara had a regard for nature, quiet a bit so but at the same time, she knew anyone who tried listening to them here would have to come close enough to listen. "Best we stay here," the female offered and put Elayne down, letting her play with the plants around them.

"What did you wish to talk about?" Satara asked then.

Here was fine? Alright, well, he trusted her. And the little one's name was Elayne. Beautiful. Just like her. He'd smiled when she grabbed his finger, and then she'd giggled and let go. Adorable. Just plain adorable. There was nothing he knew that could make him happier than children. He really, truly, hoped that she would take him up on what he had come to ask of her. Satara was the only fit for this.

"Please try to think about this when I ask it of you. It is difficult for me to come here even to speak of it."

It was, too. He knew that she was married to someone else, so this was not something he could broach lightly. That and he'd had to spend a long time researching how it was even possible to do what he intended to do. Because she was married, he couldn't have her do this the old fashioned way. It would be wrong. He'd had to see if there was a way to do it through the Force. There was, but it was unlike anything he'd ever attempted before and he honestly didn't know if he could make it work.

"I am going to be leaving for a long time, Satara. I have to go to the Outer Rim for a very extensive mission that I may never return from. It will be dangerous. I am also the last of my family. There are no heirs. I have cousins, but they do not carry my family's name. I've come to ask if you will bare me children. Not in the traditional sense. There is a way to conceive without sex. You are the only person I could trust with this and the first person I thought of. Will you be the mother of my children?"

The more he spoke, the more Satara felt what he'd come to ask was highly important to Kamon. Because of that, Satara remained quiet, listening to him. The talk of leaving made her sharpen her expression, brows arching lower in confusion. But it was really the sudden mention of children that made her eyes go wide.

"Wha...," the Witch suddenly said, unable to even finish. Had she even heard him right? Had her Master just asked her to bare him children? Her eyes darted down to her daughter. She was young but impressionable, hearing thing, repeating them. Even if she couldn't remember much of this age, these were not things she wished for her to hear.

Abruptly, she looked back at the Jai and grabbed him by the elbow, pulling him a few steps away from her daughter. There was a set of curious eyes she didn't think ofo a moment ago. But she was still unable to speak as Kamon kept talking, explaining he didn't mean by normal means. She didn't understand now more than before. He spoke of ways of creating children without lying down together. Satara had heard rumors, of children without one or the other parent or both, simply existing without normal means of conception but they were just stories without endings to the Witch.

What the man spoke of, she did not know. "How can there be children without two people lying together?" Of course she would ask. Though she wasn't required to, Satara had claimed a single man and that was the only man she was faithful to, for over a hundred years now. She was not like other Witches, she didn't keep males for breeding. So what was the man suggesting?

Clearly she didn't want such things spoken about in front of Elayne. That was understandable. The girl was young, but she was no babe, and that meant she could remember what she was being told. He let Satara steer him away from the girl and stood beside her as she asked how it was possible for them to bare children without lying down together. Truth be told, he wanted to lie with her, but he refused to ask such a thing of her.

When she asked, he opened his hand to her. There was nothing within his hand, of course, and that would be rather easy to see.The only reason he did it was because he wanted her to focus on her palm.

"There is a way to do it through the Force. It is surely not what you think of for conception, but it is possible. I... sought information on it."

His eyes darted back to the little girl in the grasses, ensuring that she was alright and playing still. Though not his child, he still wished to ensure that she was safe on this world. There were, after all, dangers lurking on Dathomir. Turning his eyes back to Satara, he focused on her eyes, looking deep into them. Yes, she was the perfect choice of mother for his children.

"It can be done if you would allow it. Here and now. I wish you to be the mother of my children, Satara. There can be no better than you."

Her eyes darted to his hand as he reached it out, listening to him speak of the Force. Different from what she knew, but possible. He had sought out information on it. Her gaze rose back to his face. Through the Force, that was what he asked of her. But he spoke in plural. All the time.

"Children. Plural," Satara spoke her thoughts out loud. And it could be done right now. Eyes, one green and one blue, looked at his hand again. But this time only for a moment before she looked up at him and blinked slowly. "How many?"

"Twins."

It was the custom in his family. Kamon had been the oddball, not a twin, but the youngest child. His older siblings were twins. His father had been a twin. It was an anomaly to have a single child in his family. Though he believed that he could give her only a single child, that was not what he wanted. Twins made sense to him for more than just the simple family fact.

"Twins run in my family. I was the anomaly. But I know of being alone, Satara, and I could never wish that on a child. I know you and your family will accept a child, but I would prefer for them to have one another beyond even that. One set of twins. A boy and a girl."

He hoped he wasn't asking too much of her, and he hoped that she would accept. If she did not, there was no one else that he could go to. He could very well be the last.

A boy and a girl, twins. Not quite customary in her family, at least, as far as she knew in the generations around her. It wasn't before her great grandchildren that twins appeared, and it was just a single set though a boy and a girl. Though now that he had mentioned twins, it made her think of TiCira and Ahote, made her miss them, the way they were to each other, to their other siblings. Satara suddenly found herself smiling though her eyes spoke of sadness.

"I do miss the sounds of twins in the house. It's only been a while since my great grandchildren have been missing but I miss them so," Satara confessed even though she didn't have to. Putting the experience in perspective, Satara realized she wouldn't mind having twins and raising them again. But even more seeing their dynamics. "Aye, you're right. Twins are very connected. It's a powerful bond."

There really was no denying, after the family she had been raised into, Satara loved being a mother. She loved all her children equally. Her age didn't matter in this, she considered them all her children, all the children of her children and their children and so on. But she couldn't really deny his request nor herself. "Very well, twins it is. What do I have to do?"

She... she agreed. How interesting. Part of him didn't think she would, but he was glad that she did. Satara Hawk was going to be the mother of his children. If there was one thing he knew, they would be raised by a woman who cared more than anything for her family, and that was enough to put him at ease with leaving them in her care. He might not ever see them, but if he did, he would at least know they were safe.

"Thank you, Satara. This means a lot to me, I want you to know that."

He leaned up and kissed her lightly on the forehead. A quick glance was offered to the girl, but she seemed to be enjoying herself, playing around as she was. She wasn't paying them any visible attention. Turning his eyes back to Satara, he lifted a hand to rest against her cheek lightly. His other hand reached to rest against her lower stomach, though he was careful of just where it rested.

Feeling within her, he nodded to himself. She was ready for this. Or, rather, her womb was ready.

"You are ready now, physically. If you are ready... I will impregnate you."

Oddly enough, he kissed her forehead. It was something nobody had done in over a century now. Satara instantly got hit by a memory, that of her Pa'tre who always planted a kiss on her forehead. Goosebumps spread all over her skin at that point as every good memory of her father was connected to the worst one, the one where she took his life and he willingly gave it up, all the while telling her about her corrupted Aunts. She knew not of his words being true at that point but she would learn that very night.

Thankfully, Kamon spoke again before the memories continued and Satara blinked, feeling his hand for a moment on her stomach. He told her she was ready physically And he could do it right here and now. The female glanced at her daughter who seemed to be occupying herself with the flowers around her. "Hold on," she told him then.

'Cara mia, venite a me. Venite a me ora,' she reached out with the Force to her faithful rancor, summing her to her side. Nadie would hear her, as she always did and the ground began to shake a bit as the large animal ran through the field. When finally in sight, the female rancor stopped and glanced at Satara and the Jai first and then found Elayne. "Don't worry, Master. She won't harm you," the Witch quickly pointed out and gestured the rancor to her daughter. Nadie didn't need more than that, moving slowly over to the three year old before she sat down and licked the child's face, earning herself a giggle and a few words for the little girl. Now, the child couldn't see what was happening.

"I'm ready now," Satara told Kamon then.

Thundering footsteps caused him to look around a bit nervously. He was not used to being on this world, and the presence of Rancors always put him on edge. He knew that the Witches utilized them, but that didn't make it easy to accept them close by. When this one appeared, he tensed for a few moments, but it moved towards the girl, sat down, and licked her. He blinked at that, but it wasn't his place to say anything about it. Instead, he turned back to Satara.

"Alright."

One hand remained upon her lower stomach. The other hand moved around to rest against the back of her head. He honestly couldn't believe he was actually doing this. Mostly because he couldn't believe she would say yes to it under the circumstances. Still, he knew that she was his best friend and most trusted one. This made him happy, and he couldn't wait to be a father if he had the chance.

The Force flowed through his hands and he closed his eyes to concentrate. Things like this were very hard at him. He couldn't heal worth a lick, and he barely had any telekinetic control. Fortunately, this was not really either of those. The Force moved into her, reaching to her womb. Two eggs were moving through their cycle, he could feel them beginning to move down towards the womb. Through the Force, he accelerated this. When they reached their destination, they stopped and now came the tricky part.

He reached to the hand on the back of her head and nipped his finger so that a little blood flowed out. Then he reached to the small of her back, put his hand beneath her tunic and dabbed a drop of blood to her skin, holding his hand there. He willed her skin to absorb the blood, and her body to move it through to her womb. There, the blood disintegrated, leaving only DNA molecules which moved towards the two eggs and merged with them. Now the eggs possessed both of their DNA.

Forcing the eggs to begin splitting as if they'd been fertilized, he slightly accelerated the pregnancy by a few weeks, and then used the Force to make her body accept the two eggs. When it was done, he sighed and leaned his head against her shoulder, feeling absolutely drained of energy. He hoped he would never do that again.

Knowing that she didn't have to worry about Elayne anymore settle her slight more at ease. Though the whole process confused her a great deal still. Satara trusted her trainer though and that played a big part in this.

Satara didn't feel anything on a concious level and it wasn't for seeing him close his eyes, knowing what Kamon looked like when concentrating, she wouldn't think he was doing much. She didn't have to even reach to the Force to know he was doing it, she knew him well enough to see it in him. She did feel the cut in her lower back though but the pain itself was insignificant. Even her earliest training hurt far more than that, small scars over her skin could testify to that. She assumed it necessary and didn't protest because of it.

The surprise was how it simply did happen. Satara didn't reach out to the Force at any point, letting him finish his work, trusting him to do what he had asked her to do for him. When he leaned against her, Satara reached to his waist and held on to him, feeling him shifting his balance over to her. "Master?" The Witch called out to him then and knelt down, pulling him to the grass with her. Kamon seemed.. exhausted. Moreso than she had ever seen him. "Do you need me to heal you?" She asked, offering her assistance. The Jedi did look as though he needed it but Satara never quite rushed to act on her own without another's consent. It was his choice.

She slipped her arm around his waist to hold him up and he just continued to rest against her for a while. The feelings going through him were like standing in a fire. It wasn't because he'd done anything to himself, it was because he'd drained the reserves of the Force he had and his body was so physically exhausted that it felt like he'd just fought every single Sith in the galaxy one at a time, back to back. His body couldn't handle it.

"Just... need to rest..."

He slipped his arm around her waist to help keep himself steady. This was alright to him, almost seeming right, but he could not dwell on such things. Reaching his hand to her tummy, he felt within, just to make sure again. They were there. He was happy.

"Can you... feel them?"

Just needed to rest? He seemed more like he could sleep for days at this current state, to her. Before she could speak again though, she felt his hand on her stomach again and looked down at it.

Could she feel them? How could she possibly feel them now when the process had only been done? Satara often felt her pregnancies at a later time and most of them were normal pregnancy, other than the one with Kytarra when her child's visions haunted her day and night through the two trimesters. "No... I... it doesn't work that way." At least it didn't for her.

Perhaps these children would be unique in their ways as well. Though Satara kind of wished they weren't gifted with something like the visions. Having felt them on her own skin before Kytarra was born, she knew a portion of how hard her life was. As much as it was a blessing, one that was believed to be a gift from Allya herself in her eyes and the eyes of the clan, it was a curse as well in her eyes and Satara didn't wish it on any of her other children.

Still, as Kamon had asked, curiosity filled her and Satara reached to the Force, focusing inward. At first she sensed nothing but soon enough, she felt them. Their presence, their fast beating hearts, mirroring each other. They were there and strong. "I feel them," the raven haired woman finally said and smiled.

At first he didn't understand how she could not feel them. He'd accelerated the pregnancy to the point where their little ones already had a tiny heart beat. They were still incredibly little, but they were at least there and he knew that her body was going to hold onto them. That was all he could ask and all he had the strength to do. There were probably others, stronger than he, that could accelerate them to birth. He couldn't.

Then she drew the Force and felt, and he knew she felt them then. Two tiny little Force made beings growing within her. He was certain that they would be strong in the Force. Strong enough to make a difference.

"Good..."

His legs couldn't hold him anymore. Despite her arm around him, his fell away and he fell down to the ground unconscious. His body just couldn't handle the strain that had been put on it when he'd reached through the Force to impregnate her. He was certain never to do such a thing again. At the very least he knew that his family was not going to die out if he died. Small comfort. But he did know his children would have a good mother.

Only one more word escaped his lips before Satara watched her Master fall to the ground and pass out. The clan mother remained quiet, not wanting to upset her daughter with any loud words. Instead, she focused on the Force and applied telekinesis to him, raising him from the grass. Moving back to her daughter and rancor, she picked up Elayne and planted a kiss on the herd mother, before walking back towards the Singing Mountain, all the while carrying the Jedi Master through the Force, guiding him back. She would not wake him now, she would let his rest. Later, she would heal him but after what Kamon had done, Satara thought it best if he rested for a while and regained his strength.

Without so much as a word, the female brought the man to her house and let his rest on what he could identify a sort-of-sofa when he awoke. There, she let him sleep and carried her daughter, finding her mate so she could discus the new development with him.

He slept for hours on end. In fact, he slept for so long it was more than a day before he woke again. Clearly what he'd done had drained him more than anything. Fortunate, he was, to have a very caring woman for a padawan. The sofa was much more comfortable to rest upon than the ground would be and he wouldn't wind up some creatures meal there like he would if she'd left him out in the field.

When he did wake, it was slow and he roused gently, remembering where he was first. After a few moments of being awake with his eyes closed, he propped his eyes open and looked around the room. He didn't immediately see anyone so he just lay there. Satara wasn't far, he could feel her. He could feel her and the little ones within her.

She would no doubt feel him awake and come to check on him. He remained lying down for the moment, waiting for her to come. Though he felt rested, he wasn't particularly ready to move.

Satara had been up and about early the next morning. She had checked up on her Master a few times since then but all the while, he kept sleeping so she would go about her business. In light of the new development, Satara also had Madoc to deal with. While her mate knew his place in their society, their bond was different, more open then those of other Witches and their claimed slaves. He had been furious, to say at least when he heard about the pregnancy. Even if the Force had been in work and Satara did now lay with her Master to become pregnant, he was still hurt by what had happened. Moreso that she did not come to him first to discus it. Though Satara knew her mate well enough to know that even if she did, he would have the very same reaction, expect he'd attempt to forbid it. Attempt being the key word though which is really what upset the male more than anything else. He had no control over such things.

What made it worse for the Witch though was that once their argument was over, he left their home and didn't return until the morning. He'd never done such a thing before. Ever. So instead of resting for the night, Satara kept thinking about her unborn children and her mate's jealousy as well.

As the new day rose, the Witch went about her duties and Madoc finally returned to their home. When Kamon awoke, it was Madoc who was in the kitchen area of the cottage, working on his latest project. Golden eyes would glance up at the sleeping outsider from time to time from the table, only to resume his work on which he couldn't concentrate all that much, to be fair, with everything that had happened. When the Jai finally awoke, he felt it. Just as Satara did outside. "Nice of you to finally grace us with your wakefulness," the male spoke up, not lifting his golden eyes from the carving he was working on.
