[*]Classification: Personal Mercenary Outfit of the Black Sun Cartels

[*]Army Symbol: A Noose outlined by a yellow line, a modified symbol of the now defunct Gallows Inc. Though many within and outside its ranks see it as a representation those that fight the gallows are walking to their own death.
[*]Description: Well internally it started out as the remnants of the Gallows Inc after the death of its former boss, given its new leader lacked knowledge in the field of business. It fell into a decline, to counter this the group took the weapon and armor stashes that had been the primary products of the company and produced a mercenary outfit that was well equipped for its new state. The core members having been the those trained to protect the companies assets under Tesari Nuema, but after it threw in its lot with the Black Sun Cartels its numbers were increased by the loose mercenary forces that had also fallen in with the Black sun. With the outfits large amount of gear and equipment it was capable of becoming a well established force within the Black Sun and one of the first formal fighting forces within the group. Though not all mercenaries that serve the many Cartels of the Black Sun, it is one of the best organised and equipped thus far.

[*]Reputation: Prior to their formal merger into the Black Sun Cartels, the Gallows were renown for fighting under the Hutts who permitted them to exist within their territorial and to recruit from their worlds. Often recruiting from the Hutts slave population, which most were Jilruan given the planet acting as a HQ for the group. To the Hutts the group was a well coordinated, equipped and trained outfit capable of easily bumping heads with most other outfits in the region. Given their leaders zealous loyalty nature, it was also well trusted to keep it word with the contracts it took up and several smaller units could be found operating through out the outer rim territories for several groups. When the Black Sun Cartel formed, the group initially kept itself neutral to the group though worked under them several times, their loyalty being prized by the Black Sun they were offered exclusive contract and decided to throw in their lot with them.
Since than the group has continued to persist as a loyal, well trained and well equipped outfit within the Ranks of the Black Sun Cartels and seen by its fellows within the group as a effective fighting force. External groups know the group simply as hounds of the Black Sun Cartels which often casts a darker shadow upon the loyal group. With its numbers increasing since throwing in their lot with the Cartels, they have kept a strict recruitment policy in a attempt to ensure they can continue to exist as a strong and orderly fighting force when compared to the loose mercenaries that make up the Cartels thus far.

The Gallows currently lack any form of armored support or air support elements having to rely on either commercial transportation to move around during peace or use pirate or freelance vessels that align with the Black Sun Cartel. This makes them slow to move and rely almost completely upon infantry based units the be mobilized to counter either attacks on Black Sun territory or assets. If being used to strike against a foe beyond the territory of the Black Sun they often have to work closely with either the Suns of Darkness or several freelance vessels to assist them in making such operations possible, greatly decreasing their response time.

  • 13th Training Company - The 13th is made up mostly of new recruits going through the 3 month training cycle to join the Gallows on Jilrua. On the off chance of a invasion the unit is prepared to take defensive measures but due to its unit being mostly recruits it expected to only hold out until other forces can converge and assist in the defense. - BASIC EQUIPMENT - SPC-1 "Protector armor", EM-10 Assault Carbine
  • 4th Training Company - Unlike the 13th the 4th is compromised of senior members tasked with training most of the 13th. They also act as the primary defense force of the Jilrua assets that stand under Gallow control such as their training grounds and estate that acts as the primary HQs of the Gallows.   • 9th Mobile Company - This unit acts as the personal outfit attached to the Suns of Darkness, protecting the crews from boarding actions alongside other mercenary units within the fleet and a marine force capable of being used in either boarding actions or land battles.   • 17th Defense Company - The defenders tasked with protecting the Ego which given its position as a mobile HQ of the Suns of Darkness this unit often works alongside the 9th as counter boarding force on the off chance a force attempts to board and take over the Ego.   • 19th Defense Company - Tasked with defending the capital world of the Black Sun Cartels Nar Shaddaa though only one outfit of many that defend the world under the banner of the Black Sun, they act as one of the most well coordinated unit currently defending the planet. They work closely with the 21st which also is tasked with defending Nar Shaddaa. Given their garrison status they also carry out operations handling unwanted forces present on Nar Shaddaa such as groups that might not align with the Black Sun Cartels or even oppose them. - BASIC EQUIPMENT - SPC-1 "Protector armor", EM-10 Assault Carbine, EM-2 "Pegasus" Blaster Pistol, 7SX Necrosis Edge -OFFICER EQUIPMENT- GI-6 "Thunder Armor"
  • 21st Defense Company - Tasked with defending the capital alongside the 19th, though they are often kept defending buildings and assets of great importance to the Black Sun Cartels.   • 23rd Defense Company - Given the fact that the Gallows are still a small army within the Black Sun outfits, the 23rd is tasked with being a mobile defense company moving to worlds that are deemed of importance to the Black Sun Cartels needs. These means they are trained as a versatile group that often digs in to worlds they are tasked to defending creating fortifications and defenses well waiting possible attack and policing the surroundings to ensure unwanted forces are dealt with. - BASIC EQUIPMENT - SPC-1 "Protector armor", EM-10 Assault Carbine, EM-2 "Pegasus" Blaster Pistol, 7SX Necrosis Edge - OFFICER EQUIPMENT - GI-6 "Thunder Armor"

  • 1st Veteran Company "Standard Bearers" - The core and first company of the Gallows, its members are the oldest, best trained and often elites of the Gallows. Given its status, its squads are often broken up and embed within other companies to act as support and elite troops. Though during war time it will reform and carry out operations as a single body. Its also seen as the personal company of Tesari Nuema and a good percent of its members are made up of former slave gladiators of the Jilruan race.   • Ranks:
Given its attempt to assert itself as the primary fighting force of the Black Sun Cartels, it has chosen to adopt a more formal ranking system that could be compared to regular armies of nations though its naming convention follows the logic that they are all dogs of war. Also given its attempt to stay a well trained and coordinated force, this means its new members must be introduced to their methods of fighting leading to a 3 month training course meant to help increase coordination and permit evaluation of new recruits. Upon the end of their training cycle, pups are promoted based off performance and given dog tags that have their rank, company and name written upon it. If they fall during combat, a member of the Gallows will go to great lengths to collect such objects to safe guard the memory of the fallen within each company.

  • Pup - Well known as a pup, its simply another name for new recruits within the Gallows, all members go through it as part of their 3 month cycle. Those who show a great deal of experience or leadership qualities from this rank have a chance to be promoted to War Hound or Pack Leader were as individuals who are new to mercenary work will often be set in as simple Hounds to be later promoted when they gain enough experience. Also during this rank recruits "Pups" can also be discharged from the Gallows with their contract being voided due to them lacking the qualities required to function within a Gallows unit.
  • Hound - Considered the rank and file troops of the Gallows, these members create the basis of most companies. With their training during their pup phase combined with additional training from War Hounds within their company, they are turned into cogs to function in perfect sync with the rest of their brothers. Squads of Hounds are known as Packs, which are often made up of 5 Hounds and 1 War Hound to act as a leader and teacher to his juniors. Their equipment is often limited to the most base line gear that the Gallows can get, making them less than ideal equipped in less they belong to a small company that has better gear.
  • War Hound - Seen as the backbone of the Gallows, they act as small unit leaders with more experience members acting as platoon divisors helping assist Pack Leaders with the management and leading of platoons. Often tasked with the teaching of new hounds in the way of their companies tactics and methods, they have a teacher and student relationship with many of their juniors until the day that they finally join the War Hound as a peer. Given their position, they are afforded the best equipment and gear that the Gallows can permit to be used in large scale.
    Wolves - Well the Gallows dislike any that might cause the harmony of their forces to be broken with individual thought process, they also know that skilled scouts and troops capable of working alone for long periods of time in support of their companies is required. Those that during their training phase as pups show a great deal of individualism but also show a great deal of skill or talent will be taken into the Wolves after graduation, joining a company as part of their recon forces. Performing duties as scouts, snipers, ambushes and elites they often act alone or in small groups that has no direct leader. So long as they complete their task higher cares little how they accomplish it.

[*]Elder Hound - Often the chief of the hounds in any company, they are few in any company and act as the most senior members among the basic grunts. With their experience in war they act as advisers to the higher tier pack leaders with organizing and leading both companies and sometimes platoons. They are also considered some of the best troops available to a Pack leader on the off chance that the Wolves are unable to do something a group of Elder Hounds can break it.
[*]Pack Leader 1st Class - The lowest tier officer within the Gallows, they are often tasked with leading platoons or smaller special augments, most are taken as pups that show a some ability with leading and are sent to a special extended 2 month course of on top of their 3 months as a pup. The only people that are promoted to Pack Leaders from the basic hounds are often special forces that are given the promotion to showcase their excellence though they often never fill a billet in regular companies as platoon leaders. Given their rank all Pack leaders are permitted to be equipped with the best gear, nearing the level permitted to special forces within the Gallows.
[*]Pack Leader 2nd Class - ​Company commanders or leaders of special expeditionary forces within the gallows these officers are both experience and capable leaders, acting as teachers to their lower ranked siblings. Some are sent into rear positions or special billets handling the large and necessary supply line for the Gallows so they can continue to operate as a formidable army. They are permitted the same level gear as their 1st Class siblings often simply carrying the same gear they had during those days. Special Force operators that achieve this rank act as Pack leaders of small units filling a similar roll to War Hounds in the lower ranks. Sometimes even leading War hounds or Hounds if they are found lacking the manpower to make a complete Elite Pack.
[*]Pack Leader 3rd Class - The General and Commanders of the Gallows forces, they are the highest tier standing just bellow the Black Hound which acts as the single supreme commander of all Gallow forces. Those that achieve this rank often act as coordinators and commanders organizing and leading large scale operations that might require more than one company. Their gear is often at the same level as special forces given the importance of keeping them alive. Special forces that achieve this rank act as platoon commanders and company commanders of elite units compromised complete of special forces.
  • ​White Hounds - A special rank only obtained by one or two members of the Gallow forces who act as the most elite commanders, most often lead elite companies like the 1st Veteran company or fill special billets such as body guard of elite figures within the Black Sun Cartels. Few of these soldiers are ever seen and in the unlikely chance you cross their paths you might find its the last mistake you make.

[*]Black Hound - A rank only obtained by the supreme commander of the Gallows, given this its a rare rank to see given only one person at a time ever carries it. They will often be attached or in the very least protected by a Veteran Company like the 1st.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Prior to the Gallows that persist today, there was Gallows Inc a company that had existed since the fall of the Galactic Republic in 19 BBY. Owned by the Sliv family who had founded it through the underhanded purchasing of Phase II clone armor from imperial supply officers after the Phase II was replaced. Using this armor as the basis the company modified and customized the armor reselling it to mercenaries, bounty hunters and pirates operating in the outer rim. It continued this business during the days of the Empire and when the rebellion appeared it even payed them for stormtrooper armor collected off the dead foes they had killed. After the fracturing of the empire it continued this, one a group collapsed or armor became obsolete to major powers it continued to buy and modify the armor for reselling. The Stormtrooper armor staying a prime product given the feared appearance it had created from years of use. Collectors would even approach them over armor they had gained for their private collections, all this permitted the Sliv family and their Gallows Inc to persist until a few years ago. During which internal strife between the current head and his sons lead to a conflict of interest turned shadow conflict. With both sides gunning for one another, armor that had been meant to be sold like the GI-6 "Thunder Armor" was used by the fathers faction and his chief commander Tesari in her attempt to eliminate her masters foes. This lead to a large mercenary build up for almost a year as new members joined in to help fight on one side or another, those that had guarded the companies assets even before the conflict joined Tesari out of loyalty. This greatly hurt the financial situation of the Gallows Inc and that same year with one son dead, his daughter a broken shell of what she had been the head Kharic Sliv was killed by a assassin becoming a casualty of the conflict. With her final order and the last of her group still remaining loyal they pushed to finish the conflict, killing the second son and forcing those that had turned the sons against the father into the shadows. Leaving Tesari, a slave without a master that had served for a decade, with nothing aside the men who had fought for her many of which had been her kin.

But Kharic in preparation for the worst and to ensure his daughter was cared for had made preparations for such a situation. His last friend who had been taking care of his daughter who had been rescued from pirates a year earlier arrived with a data pad that held all the companies information. Bank accounts, stock piles of gear, and property owned by the company along with hundreds of contacts that had been used to keep the business running. Left to care for her ward the last living Sliv and to keep the memory of her masters company alive, Tesari who lacked any proficient business knowledge turned to the only thing she knew fighting and killing. Retreating to her home world and a estate she bought with what resources she had left, it became the HQ of a new Gallows, shedding off its corporate trade it became a mercenary outfit. From there she molded the company into a fighting force, using what resources were left and the numerous supplies hidden away. Intent to defend her ward, it became a tool to create more money to keep herself and the company alive as she deployed squads of Gallows across the outer rim as mercenaries. From this she continued to build and promote herself, with the assistance of the Hutts on her home world who also often hired her and permitted her presence there she expanded the company it a well established outfit. One that garnered even the attention of the Black Sun Cartels upon their rise, offering a exclusive contract as a fighting force for the Cartels, given they own large expansion she saw this as a chance to further expand. For she knew if she gained enough power, her ward would be forever protected and if she got enough resources she might get her the care that she required.

Since then the outfit has expanded into Black Sun territory helping protect major assets and gained a large flux of new recruits well holding its HQ's on Jilrua.
