STRENGTHS
Built-in Stem Pack: The bugs granting the wearer enhanced healing capabilities, as well as heightened strength and agility, means an extra dose of survivability and power for the host.
Pump it: Capable of pumping adrenaline into the host’s systems, these bugs aid in increasing the host’s hold on the dark side.
+8 Shield: The Orbalisk carapace providing extremely resilient protection, while all parts of the host’s body not covered by the bugs remain as susceptible to attacks as normal, that pauldron specifically is extremely capable of defending against lightsabers, blasters, and various other weapons.
A Force to Be Reckoned With: Coupled with Terentatek leather, this pauldron is extremely resistant to Force-based abilities.
WEAKNESSES
Fork in a Toaster: Extremely vulnerable to lightning, an otherwise tolerable dose of electricity can be debilitating and even lethal if the Orbalisks are targeted specifically.
High Price for a Small Defense: While most sets of Orbalisk armor cover the entire body, save for hands, feet, and the neck up, having the Orbalisks sectioned off to merely a pauldron means experiencing nearly all the drawbacks of the armor with only a small area of coverage.
Under Pressure: These bugs are first and foremost parasites, feeding off of the Dark Side. Their constant feeding and the influx of chemicals they produce makes the host prone to bouts of rage and nearly incapable of feats that require long periods of concentration.
Beacon of Bug: Gaudy in both the Force and to the naked eye, the bugs make stealth a near impossibility.
Free Real Estate: Should the alchemized leather binding the Orbalisks ever be removed, they will continue to spread to cover Melydia’s entire body.
We All Fall Down: Upon the death of the Orbalisks, they emit a toxin into their host’s body. If they die, it’s only a matter of time before the host follows.
Long-Term Commitment: Quite literally attached to the host's skin, to try and remove the Orbalisks would be to undergo a painful and extremely dangerous process.
DESCRIPTION
While on Dxun, it’s expected that one picks up souvenirs, though sometimes whether or not the tourist is willing is another question entirely. Melydia, however, was all too happy to add a couple of Orbalisks to her collection of friends, even adding them to be a more permanent part of her ensemble.
