The Freaks Come Out At Night

Location: Outer Rim
Members: Chi'Yun Xhao'li, Thalia Kaia

Cruising along the outer rim was a corvette ship, no more peculiar than the rest, only unalike the rest this one carried dangerous and equally precious cargo. The person responsible for this cargo's shipment was none other than [member="Thalia Kaia"], a pilot ,and even more important: A smuggler. Her client placed high hopes in the smuggler, and even higher precautions as Thalia was temporarily granted a Corvette ship to transport the cargo alongside a group of responsible for ship maintenance atop a separate group of mercenaries responsible for aiding Thalia ensure a successful shipment. Thalia could hear gossip on board, "You gone bonkers, man?" -- "You still on about it?" -- "Hell the kark yes, man. If somethin' goes wrong, we're all as good as dead." -- "Relax, Kyle, it's just a alien." -- "An Alien that could waste everyone in this--" The mercenary stopped, lowering his tone and shaking his head. "What about pirates? Word gets out we're smugglin' that monster and they'll be on us harder than a hutt on twi'leks." The two continued, their voices dimming to the point their words become incomprehensible. The ship's commanding station posted numerous surveillance screens of a large cage positioned in the lower chambers of the ship. A faint outline of a slimy creature, hunched in form and void of movement was seen in the dark computer monitors.

A woman aboard the ship gazed out the window glass, "Damn, man. This sight always gets me. Space, so cold .. so unforgiving yet so..beauti-" Her eyes bulged, her voices being choked on as she noticed a translucent outline of a massive ship de-activating its cloaking device and revealing itself to be beside the ship. The design was rugged, marked with skulls and swords. "P-.." She muttered, stepping back and falling over in sheer disbelief. "Pirates," She whispered. A nearby Mercenary helped her, "Aye, what'd you s-" -- "PPPIIIRRRRRATTTESSS!" Her voice boomed throughout the ship, passing through the corridors and sectors with ease. Fear is a powerful microphone. Harnesses shot off from the pirate ship, latching onto the corvette ship and reeling it closer before they connected.

The corvette ship's entrance door would blast open, a small ball rolling into the ship and finding itself next to the woman who previously called it. "H-..Huh?" Her brow rose, smoke erupting from the grenade and filling the vicinity as war crys were heard. "Aye, fellas! Take every single last valuable! Shoot anything standing, or crawling and knock the boots of every perty queen ye' eyes stumble upon!" Almost viking like in attire, horned helmets and ill-refined men rushing in the ship with blasters. Thalia's mercenaries would rush to the scene, red and blue blaster shots exchanged the heat of battle. Meanwhile, Chi'Yun Xhao'li, a captured servant of the pirates was given a blaster and thrown in to aid against her will. She cursed beneath her breath, taking cover while her heart beat soared to new heights. From the life of a fisherwoman to a subjective pirate, life was unforgiving. She refused to fire, taking to various spots of cover and waiting for it to all be over like usual. "How much longer will this go on.."

As soon as the blast struck Thalia would reach for the respirator that was on the wall to her left but finding it would prove harder than she thought. It took her over a minute and a half to reach it so once she reached it. But in that time she realized she could still breath so she didn't grab it instead she released the controls and ran for the corridor thinking Kark this is it we've got pirates and a dangerous alien could things get any worse? When she reached the corridor where the fighting had begun bodies had began to pile up so she lunged for cover and then began returning fire with her twin blasters

Destruction ensued between both sides, bodies dropping, cries heard and blades withdrawn to take the battle into more physical means. Mercenaries were sliced down, pirates equally blown to pieces and blasted into the afterlife. A particularly stealthy, slim and cloaked woman was seen flying into battle, utilizing acrobatic means to maneuver her way through the battlefield. She broke off into a sprint, aiming to reach the ship's control room. She sliced effortlessly through the opposition, two daggers seen within her hands. The control room door would slide open, silence meeting the assassin. The woman crept in slowly, ambushed from the left and sent into a wrestling match with an oversized pilot.

The two rammed against the control room, grunting even. "You karking pirates! I ain't goin' down so easily!" The pilot declared, picking the woman up and running her into a wall. Little did he know the woman's body was cracked over the buttons that were used to either open or close the ship's lower chambers. Atop this, her body was electrified from the exposed wiring and thus the lights throughout the entire ship began to flicker on and off. The assassin was dead, but a far greater threat emerged. "Kark.." The pilot whispered, looking into the computer monitors and finding the massive creature inside its cage.

Meanwhile, the battle below pressed on as the body counts continued to stack. Both Mercenary, Smuggler and Pirates had met their end on this day. "Don't stop, ya lugs! Fight 'till the very e-" The pirate's words were suddenly overshadowed by a horrendous shriek that echoed throughout the entire ship. It rattled the ears of every living organism, the lights continued to fade in and out. Brief moments of complete and utter darkness. Both Pirates and Mercenaries paused the battle, looking about. A cry was heard nearby, a trail of blood splattered across the ground. The lights would vanish again, more screams heard. The herd of people continued to thin as each second passed. Something was doing this, better yet..Some monster. Dripping was heard from the distance, Chi'Yun's body forced to lift upward and into a crouch as she desperately looked around. The girl would walk past [member="Thalia Kaia"], barely noticing her due to the lack of light on the ship. "poodoo .. poodoo .. poodoo. What's goin' on?"

When Thalia heard the cry of the beast she knew there was only one place with any chance of survival the ventilation system. So she grabbed the closest person to her the girl and began to run "It's ok I'm not gonna kill you." She says as they make there way to a vent.

Chi'Yun felt herself being tugged by [member="Thalia Kaia"]. "You? I'm more worried about that monster." Through common sense alone, the common whispered. She stepped lightly, as opposed to running. Sound attracted many things, and monsters were certainly one. She forced Thalia to stop, raising her free hand to her mouth and telling the girl to "sshh.." The lights would flicker off again, the two meeting near complete darkness once more. Behind them was a table, and Chi'Yun was adept at using the environment to her advantage. Gripping Thalia's wrist, she dropped to the ground and moved herself underneath the table, aiming to take Thalia with her. She'd hear a loud thumb in the near distance while she did this, her breath becoming shaky. When underneath the table with crates around it, she'd hold a hand over Thalia's mouth, silencing her own breath as well.

The lights would flicker back on for a second, Chi'Yung and Thalia met with this sight:

The alien would pause just before them, only it's feet seen from underneath the table. It's tail thrashed about, a melodic snarl heard from the monster before it looked left and right and slowly walked away. It'd leap into the ventilation system, slithering its way out of both the girl's sight. Chi'Yung would remove her hand from Thalia's mouth, looking over toward her. "I-..I'm Chi'Yun, I was captured by pirates. We're gonna need a plan if we want to live, and quick."

With the ventilation system out of the question she knew they would be taken without warning unless they got the lights on and fast. She crawled out from under the table pulling Chi'yun out with her. "Shh we're going to head for the backup generators." She whispers

[member="Chi'Yun Xhao'li"]

Chi'Yun Rose to her feet, nodding. "Right .. Light." Chi Yun allowed Thalia to lead, a section of the corridor they tread past closing off with a door. A mercenary, though leaned cleaned against the wall and bleeding profusely, used his silenced pistol to shoot the terminal, causing the door to close. He'd look toward the two: "Well I'll be. Someone managed to live. You t-" Chi Yun cut his speech off, whispering as per usual: "We haven't the time to talk. We're gonna hit the backup generators to restore the ship's light."

He grunted, holding his side in pain before nodding. "Right then. I'll spend my last breath accompanying you little missies then." The desperado-esque mercenary adjusted his hat, limping toward the backup generators. "We're either gonna need to lock that beast back up, or torch it to death. Problem is, the only person with a flamethrower was killed off by the beast while guarding its cage. Meaning, we'll need to enter the lower chambers to find his flamethrower." The mercenary walked infront of the two, panning his surroundings with his silenced blaster pistol.

Within a few minutes, they'd reach the back-up generators, the mercenary entering the room with the generators and looking from left to right. He'd signal Chi'Yun and Thalia to wait, a sudden silence overcoming the scene. He'd find saliva spilling over his face, his hand used to grab some before looking at it. "What in the k-.." He'd look up slowly, finding a ventalation hole in the ceiling with the alien's head snarling towards him.

All Chi'Yun and Thalia would see is a black, long tail wrap around the mercenary before being yanked up and into the ventilation system. He cried aloud, squirming before vanishing like the others. It seemed the monster slithered off into the distance. Two grenades would drop from his pouch, rolling onto the ground in the generator room. Chi-Yun gasped, silencing her breath. "...poodoo." She'd slide herself into the generator room, looking over toward Thalia. "How do we activate these? We need light A.S.A.P," she insisted, body shivering in fear.
