The Force is Inside You[Hecate&Siobhan]

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Her Mistress certainly made some incredible points. Anyone else with a lightsaber would easily overpower her with her distinct lack of resistant armor and weaponry. The Echani wasn't sure whether she should laugh or wince at the comment that plenty of people had resistant armor themselves. It was funny because if such were fact it would nullify many lightsaber users little advantage at all. . . . .she could wince though because she was obviously not a person armed with such equipment and thus not among that number either.

The white haired woman's eyes widened at the remark that her Mistress had several spares. Needless to say it was both a confusing and remarkable statement that Siobhan had such a number of. . . .trophies. "A-are you offering me a lightsaber Mistress? Don't force users usually make their own? I'd love to learn from you regardless though. . . . . . . do any of these come in light blue?"

[member="Hecate"]

"Jedi Padawans use a sabre their Master's given them initially, then eventually build their one as part of a rite of passage and all that. You'll make your own in time. It's intense work," Siobhan responded. She did not care much for Jedi traditions, though she had given Tempest Adril's lightsabre, which Siobhan had been carrying with her like a relic since the Eldorai's death.

"As for colours, I know there's a blue, don't know whether it's light. Probably don't take red since for some reason alignment comes colour coded for convenience and all the Sith use it. Most unoriginally," she said randomly.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Hecate grinned to keep herself from breaking out laughing at the the comments of color coding. Honestly that was about the dumbest reason ever to pick the color of your lightsaber if you wielded one. "Actually Mistress I wasn't all too serious about the color all that much. I was just thinking in a rather silly way it'd match my hair and uniform if I carried around a blue blade. You're probably right about avoiding a red one though, it does seem like all the Sith do is use red lightsabers. I definitely wouldn't want to be accidentally attacked by the Jedi or someone out for their blood just because of the color of my blade. Heck probably might get flak sometime just having a blue blade too if anyone is after Jedi.

Yeah people in the galaxy were certainly stupid. It was such a lack of intelligence that made the Echani woman weep for her homeworld and for sentient races as a whole. Everyone bickering over the dumbest of issues seemed to be the common norm. "So does that mean I'll be learning to make my own sometime or will I be ok so long as I don't break the one you give me Mistress?"

[member="Hecate"]

"You can make your own in time. Good rite of passage. But I don't use these ones much."
For her part Siobhan liked red. For some reason it was a colour that had become associated with the Sith. Probably for some ridiculous theatralic reason like red being the colour of blood, except a green lightsabre killed just as readily! Besides, lightsabres cauterised wounds and thus technically no blood was spilt!

It was probably best not to overthink it. Anyhow she made a casual gesture through the Force and one of the unignited lightsabre hilts rose from the table and flew into her grasp. She pressed the activation button, close enough so that Hecate could see, and a beam of green energy shot forth, casting her scarred face in an emerald light. Based on its craftmanship it was a traditional Jedi blade, though not Sio's own.

Naturally she was smart enough to hold the pointy end of the lightsabre away from her face, unlike a certain farmboy. Deactivating the weapon she handed it over to Hecate so that she could try it out and get a feel for it.

"A 'Jedi's weapon' some would say, except they and the Sith have long stopped having a monopoly on it. You may have heard the stories about General Grievous, who I guess was trying to compensate for something by having four arms, but that's besides the point. I've seen non-forcers and assassin droids wield this weapon with skill. You'll find a number of things will take some time getting used to, such as the weapon's weightlessness. With skill it becomes less about brute force and the weapon becomes an extension of yourself, with the Force as your ally. But then you're an Echani, so that might actually be easier for you," she spoke.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Nodding at her Mistress' words about constructing her own lightsaber in the future as a good rite of passage, the young Echani admittedly wasn't well versed in the knowledge of the weapons specifically. For example while she admittedly would rather have a blue blade, she actually didn't know how many different hues and shades of colors lightsabers could take on. She knew it had something to do with the crystals used in their creation, but what kinds and where to collect such material from was not something Hecate knew the least bit about.

The white haired woman wondered how cortorsis blades held up against Lightsabers too. They were supposed to be able to withstand them, but how did they do so? She wasn't a geologist, but it had to with something like that right? Great now she was wasting time worrying about all that. Although now she couldn't help considering if it would just be better to wield a cortorsis woven blade rather than a lightsaber. . . . .although it certainly wouldn't be as effective against droids or heavily armored individuals like a lightsaber she supposed.

Lost in thought Hecate almost didn't notice Siobhan lift a lightsaber from the weapons table over to them. Upon seeing the weapon the Echani winced in pain at having both missed it and the ion cannon on the table earlier when she had simply grabbed the first familiar weapon she saw as she fought the training droid. She had certainly just made things harder on herself back then hadn't she. . .

Watching as her Mistress activated the blade, a vibrant shade of emerald green, casting them both in its glow, Hecate felt a tension staring at the weapon. A tension that grew as Siobhan offered it towards her, and even more as she took it. She wasn't afraid of the weapon, but it certainly was something that was deadly with just its existence. At the mention of weightlessness the Echani turned it on, pointed away to the side of course, as she held the blade. The only weight was in the pommel, much lighter by comparison with standard blades. It was rather unnerving in a way. Having fought with physical weapons and blades especially all her life, Hecate was used to fighting knowing the weight of the weapon in her hands to guide it through momentum and deft movements of her arm and hand. This lightsaber would only require a small flick to carry out the damage a vibrosword could accomplish and with much cleaner cuts.

Hecate couldn't help but stare at it as she pondered its applications and the time it would take to wield such a weapon. It would be best to master it for efficiency's sake, yet she had some distaste as she held it. It didn't feel real, and yet with the smallest of hand movements she could end a life more easily than before. She supposed she had something of an idea why she heard most jedi used the weapons with two hands, to better grip and control the weapon to avoid mistakenly cutting oneself by twirling it about too fancily and elegantly. . . . . . .

"I see Mistress. . . .what is harder to master then Mistress, wielding two separate blades or one with two ends? Such would be the pinnacle of swordsmanship would it not? Or could one become most skilled wielding one and ousting those who use either of the other styles? There was likely a feral grin on the Echani's face by this point. She was an Echani, her mistress was right. The height of combat mastery was an art, part of the Echani culture. Any challenge to ascend to its heights stirred most of their people Hecate would think. The only real question to her now was what her goal needed to be. She had much to learn, she wanted to start right away.

[member="Hecate"]

Siobhan shrugged. "Honestly I've always seen sabre-staff as tremendously dumb. Sure if pulled off properly it gives more slaughter per swing and looks flashy in motion, but anyone using one is just asking to bisect themselves. Far as I'm concerned the best technique is the one that kills your enemy and makes you get out alive with your limbs intact. Ashin Varanin conquered twenty thousand worlds and she used a single blade and Shii-Cho, the simplest form of lightsabre combat."

Well, she also had a rampaging horde, the best mentalist in the Galaxy and lots of shiny ships, but the point still stood. There was an element of very guarded, grudging respect in her tone when she mentioned the former Sith Empress.

"But if you want to master Jar'kai, the art of dual wielding lightsabres, by all means work towards that. It takes plenty of strength to maintain a good defence while dual wielding when a tough opponent is battering you with a single blade. Traditionally many Jar'kai duellists use a shoto, a light-dagger, as their second blade in their off-hand because the shorter weapon gives them a greater range of motion. Also good for stabbing fools in the groin."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

"I suppose you're right. To be honest I don't even know the names of the proper lightsaber techniques. I know only the names Soresu, Ataru, and Shii-Cho which you mentioned." Either they were common enough she supposed it wasn't hard to hear about a lightsaber user using such a style or they just happened to be ones people were speaking about when she overheard them in a bar telling stories about historic figures and what not.

"Mistress I'm not foolish enough to seek out the most difficult style if I start using such a weapon, though I know none will be easy to learn. I don't even have much training in using a pair of normal blades, let alone double ended ones. Besides for now I'll also just be using what you can give me. So with these in mind, which style you believe I should try to learn Mistress?"

Hecate had laughed at the mention of stabbing someone in the groin, but the more she ended up thinking about it, the more she wanted to learn to become the height, the pinnacle, of wielding a single blade. The idea in her head to wield the weapon to such a degree to overwhelm practionners of double or dual blades was simply too enticing a mountain in the Echani's eyes to not pursue.

[member="Hecate"]

"We start with a single blade and the simplest form, Form I. Basic Jedi training consists of learning the basics of the first five forms and I think that's one of the few of their training concepts worth applying. Ataru, with its emphasis on aggression through agility and Force-assisted acrobatics, might suit you, but you shall determine that as you become proficient with the blade," Siobhan responded, not at all being biased.

Well, there was also Form Zero, which was all about practicing restraint, only using a lightsabre as a last resort and practicing diplomacy. For obvious reasons Siobhan would not be teaching that! It was doubtful Adril had given her any lessons in it.

Incidentally the emerald lightsabre Hecate now held had a bit of a history. To be specific it had once been wielded by a Jedi Knight called Cevaril, who had been Siobhan's parole officer of sorts when she had been exiled to a Hoth-like colony called Bartusk. Her penance for having murdered two Jedi while being possessed by an ancient Sith lord. Cevaril had fallen in battle when pirates attacked to raid the colony and she had taken up his blade, slaughtering corsairs and then pursuing the scum to Nar Shaddaa.

Apparently she was the sort to carry mementoes around with her. "So with that in mind, ignite the lightsabre."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

"Yes Mistress." Nodding and doing as requested, Hecate activated the blade and stared at the length of emerald that shone forth. Ataru sounded nice, although the Echani cringed at having to learn five other forms in addition to it beforehand. Oh yeah, none of this was going to be easy, hopefully the training wouldn't be all that more exhausting than training with her mother or the military had been.

In all honesty though the young Echani did feel a little uncomfortable with the blade in her hands. It had certainly been made with someone else in mind. A standard blade in the military felt more comfortable, it was averaged for all users. Plus she had owned a few vibroswords herself with grips that fit her hand more. The pommel was longer than she'd have liked and the hands meant for it were bigger than her own. She would have preferred something more deft and flexible for her normal blade movements. Still, considering she was going to be very careful with a lightsaber until she had sufficient training, a blade that was more comfortable two handed and forced her to grip it with care to avoid losing her hold properly was useful perhaps?

"Is this the one you think I should wield? May I ask what is your's like Mistress? Did you make one yourself or do you carry one your master gave you? What is its handle's shape and the color of the blade? I would like to compare the blades you have if its alright. I'd like to understand a little how one created their blade for themselves in the differences between those available to examine." It was merely a life of living as a warrior that prompted the Echani's questions. She was riveted in these weapons as she studied the one she held. It was definitely a weapon far different from a physical blade, and yet the personal touches made it feel quite real and alive as compared to her initial thought when holding the weightlessness. For now she would likely stick to a normal vibrosword until she could grow accustomed to whatever lightsaber Siobhan gave her, but she felt very eager to further her training so she could actually use these weapons, and craft her own. She nearly felt like laughing at how badly she desired to increase her strength so that she could move with a speed and grace and strength beyond others and dance with death with a glistening blade. Time was such a fickle and cruel foe. Still, time was all that was needed, she had a good teacher in Siobhan, and Kaeshana and Firemane was a good home and environment to work from as well. She only hoped she could prove to be a worthy employee and student.

[member="Hecate"]

Presumably they would not be going through every style in this thread because that would be tremendously tedious. Besides, for instance Sio was not that good at Soresu because she lacked the patience! Likewise she thought Makashi was sort of whimpish.

Incidentally Firemane had a couple of virtually indestructible Sith chainswords that could absorb and then unleash force lightning. They had been acquired by Siobhan in a Rebel raid during the last days of the old Sith Empire.

Regardless Siobhan unclipped her unignited lightsabre from her belt and passed the hilt over. "No, it's not the original. That one got destroyed way back. Blew up my hand in the process." To be more precise this had happened during a duel with a Jedi Master while she had been possessed by Darth Shadow and driven to madness, shortly after being Knighted, which led to her exile.

"I used to be Ataru. Guess if I actually used a lightsabre more I'd be Djem So these days. It's the straightforward, brute force style based on dominating your opponent. Tempest favours it." As far as lightsabres went it was a conventional blade, though much like Adril's it was inscribed with detailed and intricate Eldorai runes. The grip had a flowing feel that made it feel natural. If activated a beam of blue energy would shoot forth from it. Truth be told it had been a while since Siobhan actually used the sabre in a serious combat situation.

"The style we'll start with is Shii-Cho. It's simple and its simplicity is its strength. When utilised it is based on seemingly, random fluid movements. Not my preference, but the basis for all the styles. "It has basically three types of attacks, long swipes, short cuts and stabbing jabs. There are no set combinations, but almost infinite ways to combine your attacks in a sequence that works best for the current situation. "

"Ah, that sounds like an interesting story. You'll have to tell me about it, considering your reputation maam it sounds like maybe you hit something too hard if that's even possible with these." Hecate wasn't trying to make light of an incident that sounded rather rough and difficult, especially since her Mistress had just admitted to losing a hand during the process. That was probably a bad memory for Siobhan then, but at the same time the Echani didn't feel like sounding as if she was showing pity by feeling bad would please her Mistress and teacher.

Accepting the hilt from Siobhan, Hecate looked over the technological wonder her Mistress had crafted with her own two hands. All the while listening as the more experienced woman described to her how once she had been Ataru but had transitioned to the Djem So style which apparently was also wielded by Tempest as well. The thought quickly passed to pursue that as her Mistress used it, but Ataru sounded right to her. Igniting Siobhan's lightsaber revealed the brilliant blue blade. The white haired woman smiled softly at the beautiful glow the weapon gave off and the intricate but unfamiliar runes that ran along the hilt.

"Alright Mistress." Shutting off Siobhan's lightsaber and standing up, Hecate offered the weapon back to her Mistress as she held an eager yet content expression on her face. "So shall you show me where to begin then Mistress?"

[member="Hecate"]

These days Siobhan barely used a lightsabre and as such lacked an actual style. Presumably if she actually put more effort into duelling she her form of choice would be Djem So due to her natural aggression, focus on brute force and offence.

There was a flicker of something on Siobhan's face as Hecate commented on the incident, though she made nothing of it. The memory was still...rather painful. Not because she had lost a hand, since she was used to that by no! Now, what was painful was the fact that Shadow had managed to use her and turn her into his meatpuppet. Little did she know that he was still out there and would strike soon...with terrible consequences.

However, that was neither here nor now and so she took the offered lightsabre. She took the sabre she had given Hecate earlier and pressed a button, powering the sabre down. "Set on stun now. If you hurt yourself it'll only zap you on this setting," she said after handing it back. Then she ignited the blue beam of her own sabre in a flourish, stepping further into the centre of the room towards a training dummy.

"As I've said there are no specific attack combinations in Shii-Cho, but an almost infinite way to combine the strikes to form your own sequence. To better classify attacks Shii-Cho users created six body targets that carried over into other lightsabre forms."

She tapped her head. "The head is target area number one. A zone one attack consists of a vertical chop at the head with the goal of vertically bisecting an opponent. The appropriate parry is a horizontal block. This is the attack position," at that she settled into a high guard position, with her blade held high above her head. "This is the parry one." She assumed a horizontal guard with the blade held at head-height and angled across her body.

Then she reassumed the high guard stance and suddenly brought her sabre down in a shattering strike upon the head of the dummy. Since it was set on stun said dummy did not get its head chopped off! "Imitate the two positions, then try that."

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

The flicker didn't go completely unnoticed by the Echani, trained to key in on physical emotions. It made Hecate wish she hadn't made the comment on the subject as she had, though she had meant it to lessen the effect the words might have. She hoped silently that Siobhan didn't take any offense or feel any indignation towards her for it. The white haired woman truly had no idea of the depths of the incident that had occurred, she would not have made her remarks otherwise. Hecate considered apologizing but was not sure if that would make things better or worse.

So instead she returned the lightsabers her Mistress had given her as the other woman took them from her. From there Hecate watched intently as Siobhan fiddled with the one she had been given before and set it to lower power setting, enough to sting a bit but nowhere near enough to kill apparently. That was a certainly useful setting if one didn't intend to kill a target but had no other weapon to whack them with, also for training purposes she supposed.

Still she was taking the tool well renown because of the Jedi and Sith quite seriously. For one thing she doubted Siobhan would take the time to teach just anyone these sorts of things, clearly she was being given a great opportunity and had chosen an excellent time to join Firemane. So Hecate wasn't about to waste a second of the knowledge and teachings that the veteran warrior and master force user was imparting to her.

Watching her Mistress' demonstration and listening enraptured by her explanation, the Echani woman kept her eyes on Siobhan as the blue blade struck the dummy's head and left it intact though the strike was well made. Igniting her own lightsaber now, carefully of course, Hecate stepped toward the dummy as well as she was instructed, holding her blade in the defense posture first as she had seen Siobhan do, then quickly bringing it above her head and delivering an overhead blow to the dummy's own top as her mistress had done. "Shii Cho sounds like an effective style for fluid movements and allowing a variety of counters Mistress, but considering there are other techniques and teachings I'm assuming it has a few weaknesses. I'm guessing while fluid it doesn't provide very consistent and practiced swordplay?"

[member="Hecate"]

"Point. In the hands of a raw master the bladework is described as being 'like watching water flow over the falls'. Its wide, sweeping motions make it ideal for engaging multiple opponents, but less suited against a single one who would have the mobility to find weak spots in Shii-Cho's more clumsy bladework," Siobhan responded as she approached her student.

"What's important to keep in mind is that it was created by the ancient Jedi during the transition from metal swords to lightsabres, back when they did not have lightsabre-wielding opponents. As such it does not address lightsabre-to-lightsabre combat." She settled into the usual ready stance, with her feet shoulder-length apart, blade held at a 30 degree angle away from her body and then began going through a series of motions that Hecate would presumably imitate.

This writer thinks it a bit tedious to write a post about every single zone attack and corresponding parry, especially since it would probably be more interesting to get to Hecate practicing against an actual target that could hit back. Moreover, the Echani already knew how to use a metal sword and the principles of blade contact remained the same for Form I.

So Siobhan would demonstrate horizontal side swipes against the right arm and side of the dummy, with the counter being a vertical parry position. Likewise the appropriate attack against the back, which was zone four, with the counter being a drop parry position with the blade angled downwards behind the duellist's back. Zone five and six were low sideswipes aimed against an opponent's right and left leg, with the corresponding defence being drop parries with the hilt held at waist.

And to visualise this better than this writer's rather dry description, here is a pic!

Shii-ChoBodyZones.JPG

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

And what a gorgeous picture it is! Very simplistic yet also informative about the areas in question regarding the Shii Cho style of lightsaber combat. Hecate did indeed get the idea watching her Mistress carry out the motions, feeling them very similar to standard bladework. The minor nuances in the movements she noticed the Echani could likely attribute to the weightlessness and ease of motion for the weapon she was holding in her hand. It made her understand why such a tool required a very different feel for handling than a regular sword as she carried out imitating Siobhan's actions. It was very simple to do so as she watched her Mistress' movements, the tensing of the other woman's features and muscles just prior to moving a limb explained much about the mechanics. Likely to outsiders many would consider an Echani warrior's upbringing to be excessive hard, but in a culture where such is the norm Hecate hardly thought about how she could read the body and apply it so much easier than others.

Keeping silent as she took her training seriously, the white haired woman focused on the movements of the lightsaber in her hand, the angles she held it, the positions she alternated between, and the differences in their applications as she reached them from one place to the next. Learning the appropriate zones and the corresponding attacks and defenses for each required more thouhgt and consideration of what light to exactly look at them under, so far it did feel very much like plain and straightforward swordplay, which the Echani was already used to, but then that wasn't a bad thing. After all as said before she did need to get used to the feel of the lightsaber which acted and moved unlike a normal blade.

This was likely why these exercises were necessary before moving on to other styles and techniques. Where actual strikes specific to a certain form and series of motions would require intensive control over the weapon, reaching a level of familiarization with the lightsaber as a normal sword with the Shii Cho style made much sense when thinking about it that way. Especially when it would turn into forms crafted for other lightsaber wielding opponents, who would move with the styles and techniques of one familiar with the weapon. The prospect of such clashes excited Hecate as she became lost in the training, following after Siobhan's instructions and imitating her where needed until such time as her Mistress decided they would break or that training on another subject would take precedence.

[member="Hecate"]

Time passed as Hecate went through her motions on the training dummy and Siobhan watched. The girl was showing promise, though of course the true test would be when she would have to apply these movements on her own and against an actual opponent, finding her own style rather than imitating.

Eventually Siobhan aborted the exercise. "Alright, that suffices for now. Keep up with it and you'll become proficient. All the other forms draw upon Shii-Cho, so it's the place to start. It's time to give you something to hit at that actually fights back," she said. That was always her favourite way of training. Hitting on a dummy only got you so far. So at the press of a button a door opened and one of those skeletal droids that Hecate had by now become familiar with entered. Only instead of an electrostaff it carried a lightsabre.

"Defend yourself against its attacks and try to block them," Siobhan spoke as the crimson beam ignited with a snap-hiss. Needless to say it was set only to stun. Siobhan was in a nice mood and so she had actually given Hecate some warning beforehand, but the droid would attack aggressively and with great speed, though it would use the same form to keep things more balanced.

Naturally Shii-Cho had been made before lightsabre combat became frequent, but the ancient Jedi would have still trained in it! Having assumed a high guard position, the droid would initiate the sparring duel with an overhead blow directed against Hecate's head. Should the Echani succeed in parrying that it would alternate between zones of contact to knock her off balance and try to disarm her. The Disarming Slash was a move common to Shii-Cho, which in theory emphasised victory without injury, and revolved around knocking an opponent's weapon out of their hands.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Well they said imitation was the greatest form of flattery. . . .

Hecate continued the exercises until Siobhan told her to give the practice dummy a break. She was well aware she would need to develop the motions to fit her own style at some point, but for now the white haired female was content with her progress. There were many benefits to being from Eshan and growing up under the Echani culture, certainly when it came to physical prowess. Anything requiring bodily motion just came so much more naturally than any of the metaphysical understanding that likely was necessary to overcome mind over matter obstacles with the force like mental influencing and lifting objects that would impose even the strongest weight lifter.

"Yes Mistres, what sort of opponent did you have in mind." Of course the Echani woman hardly needed to ask that question, she felt rather dumb for it even the moment she lowered her weapon to her side as she began to relax. Why would she expect anything else than for her Mistress to release another combat capable training droid, this time armed with a lightsaber though.. . . . .which was honestly more to Hecate's relief. Because honestly a single sided blade was hardly as frightening as a twirling staff that would come from any direction since it was nearly impossible to track a machine's movements without the force.

It wasn't a surprise when the droid went on the offensive either, and Hecate wasn't going to fool herself into thinking she had the gall or preparedness to go toe to toe still. So instead she was already retreating when its weapon came down, her own in the high guard position only to intercept and slow its lightsaber's motion downward enough for her to back away. A close call deserving of one not paying attention. It made Hecate grit her teeth in frustration at having let herself relax when Siobhan had said she was done hitting the dummy. Gathering the force around herself the Echani brought her lightsaber up as she stepped forward and to the side in a counter offensive aiming for the zone on the right side though her objective was more to use her attack to carry momentum to move behind the droid and strike its back and head if she could get the opportunity around its guard.

[member="Hecate"]

Since Hecate loved droids with electro-staffs so much she would probably be delighted to know that there was one waiting for her. It would assuredly come to attack her once she had beaten this one. Or perhaps attack while she was still busy if she took too long! After all, Shii-Cho was good for fighting multiple opponents!

It all depended on how mean Siobhan was feeling today. Generally a good foot masage put her in a generous mood. Anyhow Siobhan watched her student's display, though she did not intervene. This writer shall leave it to Hecate's to determine the droid's attacks, though suffice to say it was quite strong and fast. It would probably not just use its blade, but also its superior strength.

Siobhan pondered for a moment whether to tell Hecate that her lightsabre was still set on stun or to simply reach out with telekinesis and change the setting, but decided to see how her student handled the situation.

[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

To be fair even Hecate knew her weapon had still been set on stun, However, what she wasn't certain of was if she was supposed to be aiming to utterly cleave the droid into little pieces for easily, or if she was supposed to try and merely outperform it until her Mistress was pleased by her displays and exertions. Although considering the droid's superior artificial strength and speed over her own physical body, though using the force leveled things out more equally, it wasn't going to be a simple or clear task on her part.

Still, she did have the advantage in ingenuity and having an open mind not singularly programmed. The young Echani grit her teethe as the defense she had taken to lead into her attack held with a lot of strain put on her arms as she tried to use the training droid's own strength to provide her with the momentum for her series of strikes. Which she did, her feet light on the ground touching off and pushing away as she flicked her blade out to tap the machine's arm, then stepping forward to get behind the mechanical opponent as the tips of her toes pressed on the ground and she lashed out at its head.

Sadly the droid turned so the blow wasn't as solid as it moved and she moved to avoid a counter, but still she believed had she been aiming to kill a normal opponent the blade would have penetrated enough to be lethal. Raising her guard as the droid advanced once more, Hecate groaned slightly as she feinted a counter and then moved around looking for more openings. "Mistress how many touches do I need to land on the droid to count a victory?"

Plainly the white haired woman was unaware of the need to utterly dismantle the machine, but to her it seemed like a waste of equipment. Then again she wasn't someone with vast wealth and resources who could brush off such an expense. Even though she'd be hesitant of wasting or breaking something she owned just because she could get another.

One wondered just how many droids of this type Siobhan had and where she got them from. Perhaps this Galaxy really had an equivalent of IKEA. "Disarming it will suffice," Siobhan said simply as she watched the display.
