Private The First Duty (New Apprentices)

Coruscant
Jedi Temple

Jake's office on Coruscant was fairly small, though with the high ceilings of the design of the Temple. It contained a flowform hoverchair, a desk, several databanks and computer consoles with stools, a holodisplay, a couch, and two comfortable easy chairs.

The desk was arranged so that Jake's hoverchair faced the door, with the comfy chairs opposite his desk, facing him, databanks to the left, couch to the right. Behind the desk was a small refrigeration unit and food prep machine. On top of the desk were several datapads and a small model of a Corellian gunship, a gift from the crew.

Master Judah sat in his chair awaiting the arrival of his students. He would be taking on the heavy responsibility of training two padawans at once. Jake felt he had the knowledge, and experience to help them become Jedi Knights, or he would not have sought the task out. He felt, most strongly, a debt to his own Master, to repay his time, knowledge, and efforts, in guiding a new generation of Jedi as he had been guided; to pass on the things he had been taught.

Today they would meet properly for the first time, and Jake would inquire about each of them, so as to be the best teacher he possibly could. The bond between Master and Apprentice was deep and powerful, but it had to start somewhere. Building it would take time, love and discipline. His role was as a guide. He'd dismissed his droids and other associates for the day, so that he could focus entirely on the beginnings of what he hoped was a successful partnership in learning.

Nir felt a little annoyed by his new schedule. He'd been called by a jedi master, and yet it would mean skipping a show he had hoped to attend, not as a performer, but as an audience member. Maybe he was a bit sour from his last master leaving him out to dry. Either way, he wasn't in high spirits when he knocked on the door to the office.

"Um....hi?" He asked, slowly opening the door.

ryana was surprised when she got accepted by another master and he wanted to meet the trick would be keeping pip locked up so ryanas attention wasn't split. Between this new master and making sure her little trouble maker wasn't up to know good. Plus she didn't want pip making a mess of master judahs office even though Judah already knew about pip he didn't need to experience pip first hand on their first official meeting. Besides the group training course he offered of course as ryana walked down the halls towards master judahs office she felt confident about how she kept pip busy putting grapes in an unopenable box atleast for a racyon especially one as smart and mischievous as pip.

Walking up to master judahs office ryana saw the door close she also knocked "is it alright if I come in" she said walking in to master judahs office.

Jake stood up from his hoverchair when Nir Si Nir Si entered, managing a welcoming smile. He waved to the comfy chairs before his desk, and was about to introduce himself, when there was a tentative sound from the door.

"Come in!" the Master called, inviting Ryana mina Ryana mina in to join them. He'd wait for them both to seat themselves before he sat back down himself. He realized he was being a little stiff and formal, which usually happened when he tried to be nice. Jake shrugged it off and made himself relax. The padawans couldn't probably know it, but he was probably as nervous and anxious about the situation as they were. And he damned well wouldn't show it. Smile remained fixed in place and not too forced looking.

"Thanks for arriving so quickly. You're both wondering what the heck, right? Well, i've asked the Council for permission to take both of you on as my students."

He laid it out first up, best to get any misconceptions out of the way before things really got going. They would get the truth from him. Trust could only be built up that way.

Ryana was also surprised by this summons and interest in her and the other Padawan sure she wanted to learn and advance up the jedi ranks and she did training on her own. And attending any group training sessions she could to learn skills she could use on the battlefield and defending people or keeping pip in line was helpful as well he was extremely mischievous and too smart for his own good. As ryana sat there she felt a sense of satisfaction through her force bond so much for that box being unopenable for racyons.
