  • Primary Source: Lightsaber, Force Pike, Vibroweapon, Zanpakutō
PRODUCTION INFORMATION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Two-Handed Weapon

  • Size: Large - Very Large

  • Weight: Heavy
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Force Manipulated: The weapon can be used as a Saber Pike Force Pike, or Vibroweapon this is decided by Srina Talon’s will. Through the Force, she can will this weapon to be one or the other. She may also be able to manipulate the plasma filament shaping them into ‘plasma blades’ at her will.

  • Exarch’s Heart: While it may be a secondary crystal it is perhaps the most powerful of the two crystals installed in the weapon. Allowing Srina to channel Tellu’s Banshee form and her ability to bend/channel energy.

  • Sunlight: The Hoylin Crystal is strongest when exposed to the sun, a fine Aurodium mesh with Girondium ensures that the sun is able to hit where it needs to most. This is simply an insurance mechanism to make sure the blade, when used, is at its strongest. There is a small solar energy cell that will hold the energy and slowly exposes the crystal to the stored solar energy at night.

  • Chambers: Ultrasonic Vibration Generator and Electroshock Generator are housed similarly to how they would be in a simple Force Pike. The difference here is that they have separation chambers allowing the Exarch to use either one generator, or both at her will.

  • Tibanna Filament: Traditionally trumporium gas would be used, but to give the weapon a more reliable ‘edge’. Mishel worked in a small concentrated amount of tibanna gas. This would be wired into the hilt/shaft, primary crystal mount and would be wrapped within a power field conductor. A separate line would be made to connect up toward the extended points and work within the telescoping mechanism.

  • Retractable Point: The very tip of the weapon has within it a discharge capacitor tip enabling it to be used as a Force pike. This can be retracted at will allowing Srina to further manipulate the weapon into a lightsaber-like polearm, or saber staff. It is beneath this retractable point that the focusing lens resides.

  • Corellian Glass: On either end of the weapon are sections of glasteel that are overlaid with polarized bloodsteel. This was more or less for aesthetic, giving the weapon a more unique feel.

  • Decorative: Ornate use of brass and electrum are also added to give the weapon a touch of elegance. The pommel was fitted into the shape of a crown with sharpened edges so that if the Exarch needs to she can use that end to deliver a mix of piercing and blunt damage.

  • Telescoping Staff: It is shown pictured in its standard form the extended, telescoped shaft. Gives the weapon a range similar to a lightsaber pike.

  • Emitters and Cells: Jolt and discharge cells have also built into the pike allowing for an increased chance of electrical damage as well as giving Srina the ability to modify the damage output of the blade itself. A disrupting emitter placed in a phobium emitter matrix was also installed to give the Exarch’s weapon a potent blade.
Strengths:

  • The Essence of Tellu: Carries the essence of Tellu Talon, allowing Srina Talon to tap into some of her sibling's well-known powers, such as her Banshee form and the ability to ‘bend’ or channel elements to her will via the Force.

  • Swiss Army Saber: Does a little bit of everything, at Srina’s will. Force pike. Vibroweapon and even lightsaber-pike? Got it all in one, a versatile weapon, indeed.
Weaknesses:

  • Vulnerabilities: Radiation, corrosion and emp/ion weapons may be able to get through some of the elements on the weapon. Doing so may result in the weapon not functioning properly, or may cause a chain reaction with the tibanna gas.

  • Catch These Hands: Force users may be able to manipulate the force pike, vibroweapon portion of the staff if they get their hands on it. Which may end poorly for those on the other end of it - until such time that Srina is able to regain the weapon.

  • Boom Bewm Time: Contains tibanna gas and should the right spot on the shaft be hit. It might be a good time to es-cap-e. May result in catastrophic losses for those around it when and if it goes boom.

  • Lightsaber Stuff: Lightsaber portion cannot cut through lightsaber resistant materials such as cortosis, phrik and songsteel.
DESCRIPTION:
The Banshee’s Wail is at first glance a rather ornate halberd, a polearm handcrafted specifically for the Exarch. A rather elaborate crown-like pommel with pointed edges certainly grabs attention as does specifically cut peridot gemstone in the center of the pommel. Songsteel is notable from pommel to mounted spikes. Aurodium-mesh with Girondium allows for solar energy to be collected and sent to a small storage/converter unit to ensure that sunlight goes to the Hoylin Crystal and most especially at night.
Electronics in the shaft are arranged to mirror that of a Force Pike with the exception of the separation chambers. As described they’re meant to separate the ultrasonic vibration chamber and electroshock generator. The saber staff is built not at the hilt of the weapon but toward the actual blade, with plasma vents in the pommel of the staff. Shielded by an elaborate songsteel design, elements that are commonly found on a lightsaber are built up toward the bladed section.

Between the pommel and shaft lay the telescoping section, while between the vibroweapon/force pike where the Aurodium casing can be seen is an ornate divider that includes a plasma vent. The ornate divider works to keep the lightsaber components and the force pike/vibroweapon components separate. One of the key elements of this weapon is that this weapon is completely Force manipulated.

So there are no outside adjustment knobs or even a pressure grip. There is a risk of the weapon falling into the wrong hands. Fortunately, the weapon works properly for only one master, although other Force users may certainly attempt to use it.

The Banshee’s Wail contains the essence of Srina’s sister Tellu. The two were very close growing up and remained close until Tellu’s final act on Hoylin. Through this weapon, Tellu shall remain at her sister’s side and perhaps during trying times, in moments of great adversity Tellu may even seem to appear before her sister. Whether or not this is the weapon or merely Srina’s own subconscious is unknown.

LORE:
Jedi Mishel Kryze had finally come to accept her role as an artificer. In doing so, she paid a visit to Monastery - one long overdue. When she visited the nexus, she came across [member="Srina Talon"] and gave the Exarch space. Tellu, Srina’s sister had fallen after cleansing Hoylin* of a dark plague. Mishel could see the bond that the two had, how it affected the Exarch that her sister was in a comatose state.

Mishel quietly made a vow to herself that she would find a way to honor Tellu. She ventured to Hoylin and found that a small nexus had formed where Tellu cleansed the land. Instantly she could feel the hope this woman provided, the heart, passion of a woman who so desperately wanted to find the good in everything.

A woman who also ached, and after collecting stone from this nexus Mishel forged a specialized container to keep its powers. She traveled back to Monastery where she began to forge the weapon from materials both on Monastery and from throughout the Confederacy. She knew what it was to have a sibling, but she knew not the pain of losing one.

It wouldn’t be enough to simply forge a new weapon, the Exarch had plenty of those. Mishel sought the woman out again and began a conversation that would lead the Echani to give Mishel, the Halberd. It was Tellu’s Halberd once but it no longer functioned and with that Mishel went back to Monastery.

She would spend weeks working on this Halberd. Reforging it, rebuilding it and transferring a small part of Tellu’s essence. For even as the woman laid resting there in the cave side retreat. Mishel could feel the woman’s life fading. Ever so slowly, Tellu was giving herself to the Nexus, charging it to even greater strength.

A Jedi Master once told Mishel to not fear death, for there is no death - there is only the Force. From the Force they came and to the Force they shall return. Perhaps the Exarch could feel her siblings death approaching, or perhaps she knew what Mishel had in mind. The Jedi Padawan had been taught to release this fear of death and as she worked on the weapon.

She realized.

If there is only the Force, then it was true.

They would not die.

More so for the Exarch, her sister would not die.

She would pass in her physical form, yes.

She would, however, live on for all eternity in the Force.

She would be there to watch over everything the Exarch does.

She would remain in the Exarch’s memory, in her heart and thus would not perish - but would have eternal life. It would not take away the sting of death or the monumental source of grief that death would bring. Tellu Talon had been the heart of Exarch and with this new weapon, Srina Talon could once again have her heart close by. Tellu would go on to live and watch over her sister, for one day. Tellu would not be there anymore, one day Mishel would not be there anymore.

Do not fear Death.

Dear Exarch Talon,

I cannot replace your sister, nor can I bring her back. Indeed, I fear there is no Healer great enough to bring her back to this realm. Have no fear, for there is nothing too great that a Jedi or even a lightsider cannot overcome. Have faith, for your sister lives on - your sister lives within the Force. When you go to the water and look upon your reflection, you will see the truth. You will see your sister, your sister will forever remain in your heart, and in your memories. When the wind passes by you might perchance hear her laughter again. Know that I have rebuilt her Halberd and that no matter where you are, so too shall be your sister. This Halberd may have her essence, but it will never truly be Tellu. I pray that it brings you some manner of comfort. Your sister’s resilience, her compassion, her heart - they all live on. In the Force, in the Nexus that now grows on Hoylin* and most importantly, in You.

I am truly envious of the time you’ve had with your sister. I have not been afforded such privileges, but I must not dwell on these things. Take heart, and take care Exarch.

Chaire,

Mishel Kryze, Jedi Padawan.
