OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Kyle Raymus
  • Model: Vibroblade
  • Affiliation: Kyle Raymus
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Songsteel in the blade, Songsteel Handle covered in ergonomic rubber, Vibroblade components, Power Cells, Wiring
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Sword
  • Size: One-Handed (can be used with both hands)
  • Length: 90 cm blade, 25 cm hilt
  • Weight: 1kg
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Capable of shooting a bolt of electricity with about 1,5x the power of a spark projector
  • Ergonomic Handle
  • The blade "sings" when unsheathed in a quiet environment. It "sings" calm, beatiful humming music.
  • Shuts up immediately after being sheathed.
  • Power indicator on the guard portion (the circular thing on the image).
  • Heat level indicator on the guard portion (see last weakness for reason)
  • Balanced. Unlike lightsabers, the entire blade has weight. This leads to the blade being balanced and the feel is very different.
Strengths:
  • Lightsaber resistant
  • Very light
  • Vibroblade cutting levels.
  • Electrifying blade. The blade is covered by electricity. The power level can be set anywhere from a light shock to a painful zap.If left to contact the enemy for long enough (5 seconds or more) at maximum power, can render the oponnent unconcious.
Weaknesses:
  • Power hungry. It requires the user to change the power cells rather frequently, much more than a normal vibroblade, due to the electrifying nature of the blade. About once every 15 mins of active use
  • Vulnerable electronics. This sword is not so resistant to EMP/ION weapons, and can short out if hit more than once.
  • Attention required. This blade requires a lot of maintenance out of combat. If not cleaned and tended to for long periods of time, the blade will stop singing and the Songsteel alloy will start crumbling, and as soon as a single crack appears, the entire blade starts to fall apart shortly.
  • Prolonged combat: the blade heats up when it comes in contact with a lightsaber. As such, the blade needs to cool down after 10 seconds of direct contact with a lightsaber (Time accumulates as long as the saber wielder does not allow the blade to cool). The blade's scabbard contains a coolant which immediately cools the blade down once it enters said scabbard. This means that the blade needs to be returned to the scabbard after 10 seconds of direct contact with a lightsaber, which can be a serious hinderance in combat.
DESCRIPTION
A new type of vibroblade, and a very expensive one at that. Kyle barely managed to find the materials required to build this work of art, particularly the songsteel, which is rare to the point that even the head of the First Order probably wouldn't be able to find enough of it to cover a single TIE/fo 's cockpit in a 5mm layer. Kyle however, was very lucky. A bit of it had been stored away at the bottom of the cargo hold of his old, now defunct freighter. God knows how it got there. Probably his former partner stashing it there and dying before he had the chance to use it. A shame really, but now it served a different purpose. This blade was forged by Kyle, and god, it took him a while, in order to have a chance against force users in CQC and melee combat. While he was proficient in hand to hand, that would not be enough. Without the abilities to craft a lightsaber, Kyle produced a vibroblade capable of competing with lightsabers. This blade is a ferocious combination of Light weight, brutal cutting power and ridiculous toughness. A one of a kind weapon, it is very precious to it's owner, and is always carried in a decorated officer's sheath to keep it from "singing". While the tunes the blade hums are beatiful and very relaxing, they can be annoying in certain situations. The blade sings quietly, and can only be heard in quiet rooms, though it instantly shuts up as it is put in the sheath. a weird and amazing property. It took Kyle 3 days and 3 nights of non stop work to craft it due to Songsteel's annoying tendency to do the opposite of what you want it to do when being forged. But the work certainly paied off, and so, a magnificent blade was born. One problem with it though, was it's power guzzling nature. It always needed thorough maintenance and new power cells. But it's a good trade for something so magnificent. This one of a kind blade is ready to forge it's legend.

Okay, so props for coming up with a mostly good balance of strengths and weaknesses but we've got a couple glaring issues to sort out.

Typically, we only allow submissions utilizing more than one restricted material under very special circumstances. You can have either phrik or songsteel in this submission, but not both. Please choose one, and then remove all references to the other from the submission.

Cuts through most materials with ease (pretty much cuts anything a lightsaber can cut due to the toughness of phrik and songsteel and the vibrations from the vibroblade. Can even slice through Phrik and Songsteel, though with difficulty.)
A vibroblade might have impressive cutting power, but this is excessive. Please scale back to normal vibroblade levels, and remove any reference to being able to slice restricted materials.
