The Empire Strikes Back [Imperial Remnant, Others PM to join]

Tanomas Graf

Guest
Graf observed quietly as the fleets began to unleash broadsides upon each other, tearing shields and the like up with heavy turbolasers and projectile weaponry. He felt a lump rise in his throat as the engines failed on one of his Victory IV-class Star Destroyers, causing it to become caught in the gravitational field of the planet, but through some sheer luck and intervention by the Force, it happened to crash into one of the Venators, piercing it as they both fell the long distance before impacting in the ocean.

Soon afterwards, in the midst of the battle, three more Venators were destroyed at the cost of several of the Remnant's smaller vessels. Tanomas knew already that the battle was won. "Inform Captain Krane to take command, mop up the rest. Prepare my shuttlecraft for departure." He ordered, directed at his first officer, before marching off of the bridge towards the hangar bay.

A shuttlecraft descended and unfolded its wings, before entering the atmosphere of Kamino.

Max went to a console on the bridge to confirm the status of the planet below him, then made his way to follow the Emperor. Turning on his communicator, he entered the shuttle and adjusted his armour. First impressions for the new citizens would probably be of some concern to his leader, and, of course to his wishes to fulfil his ambitions.

As the shuttle descended, Max gazed out the window. What some people may have see as a desolate planet with nothing to give, he saw potential in. He remembered reading through Imperial archives that the population around the time of the old Empire was around one billion.

"There is much we can do with Kamino, other than just cloning. Their technologies and habitation I suspect are fascinating."

Although they had supported the Galactic Alliance and other against the First Order, he believed relations were still somewhat shaky. Taking territory like this may be seen as quite antagonistic to others.

As the enemy Venator fled and the bombers closed in, Talyn's ships switched to a hail of turbolaser fire, shredding the enemy ships as best they could. A few bombs rocked Line Group Kohuun, sending flickers of pale light along the frigates' shields, but it was largely a futile effort. The enemy pilots barely had time to begin coming around for a second pass before they were cut to ribbons and the transit corridor was clear once more. Scanning her sensor screens, Talyn surveyed the rest of the battle. A corridor was practically unnecessary at this point. The battle had been short and vicious, but entirely one-sided; the Imperial Fleet had control of Kamino's skies, with only a few of the cloners' defensive vessels remaining to contest that near-total dominance.

"Captain," Commander Kayl told her, a new level of respect in his voice, "Grand Admiral Graf has left you in charge of the fleet while he proceeds to the planet, and requests that you mop up any remaining enemy forces. Your orders?" Talyn smiled, feeling her heart swell within her. This was power and authority, the very thing she needed to wield effectively in order to gain the respect of the men. She was up to the challenge. "Move all vessels into Offensive Grid Jenth," she calmly commanded, preparing to form up the fleet like a single scouring wave. As the frigates, destroyers, and cruisers moved forward in an aerial simulation of lock-step, anything that crossed their path could be easily focus-fired and obliterated. No shred of the enemy would escape her wrath.

The wounded Venator was among the first victims, its bridge bursting into bright flame beneath the concentrated barrage of the gathered Imperial ships. Several more vessels followed, until the space above Kamino was littered with scattered scraps of durasteel and the frozen corpses of the planet's defenders. All too easy. Talyn opened a channel as the fleet took up a defensive position above those stormy skies, contacting the Grand Admiral's shuttle directly. "My Lord," she began, with a salute and a half-bow, "we have secured the target area. No enemy resistance remains; their defensive blockade is broken, with no survivors. We are prepared to support the ground forces with targeted bombardment as needed." If the Kaminoans would not bow, fire would rain down upon them from on high.
