Private The Edge of the Known

Iandre once again found herself on the search for information. Her first endeavor had ended in almost a failure. However, she had learned of a place that might provide her with something. Just off the northernmost point of Diarchy territory was a place called The Worlds Within—a multilayered station floating in space.

Once again, she travelled out on her own. Leaving behind the people, she began to consider her family. She'd never had one but felt she was connected to each of them in ways she had never imagined before. Five men always travelled with her. They were becoming something of an honor guard, but they were also friends.

Moose, Childs, and Night were among them, along with Shifter and Crash. The group had undergone training together and bonded during that time. Iandre was their leader, but they were equal in rank within the Lilaste Order. As usual, Shifter piloted the craft, and the others were her company in the crew area.

Weapons were holstered and ready to go. Once they got clearance, they landed on the first layer and started their journey into the past.

Travelling just outside of Galactic Alliance territory inside of a Jedi starship that Jedi Apprentice Kas Larsen had been given loaned access of. He hadn't realize that the flight path taken was within Diarchy territory of space. Something in the Force drew him to this floating space station. Kas had never been here or studied anything related to this space station.

Unsure where to dock in the station the Jedi Apprentice attempted to raise communications in requesting a docking bay to use in his descent to arrive in the space station. Letting the droids situated on the Jedi starship take the reigns to guide the shuttle to a docking bay once granted permission to dock in the station.

A Jedi exploring further regions of the Galaxy might be both dangerous and rewarding. However, Kas was following the Force. He couldn't ignore it and wouldn't. Potential alliances could be made or scouting for potential threats from any enemies to report back to the New Jedi Order and Galactic Alliance. Someone had to do take charge but needed to be cautious in their approach.

"This is a strange Station to come across. I'm unsure why the Force is leading me here. An artifact? Disturbance in the Force? Can't sense the Darkside having a strong presence here."

Dvyqx9E.png

She and her men exited their ship once Shifter had it landed. This first level was idyllic and a place where she could feel comfortable staying. However, it wasn't what she was looking for. Her master had told her of the Rakata, and she hoped to traverse to some lower levels to find out about them. That was her hope.

They walked along in nature, and they noticed there were only droids on this level. Returning to the central hub area, there was an elevator. Here they came across people. Their group got a few odd looks, but nobody approached them. Nor did they approach anybody.

Pushing the button to call the elevator, the troops and Iandre waited for it to arrive. She wished there were a map she could have. They would have to visit each floor, one by one, to try and find what she was looking for. That was fine with her, and she had time to spend on this station.

Communications between Kas and the station crew were successful where Kas departed from his ship leaving the droids inside of it. Walked down the ramp after the door unsealed and unlocked. Kas began to venture further inside the Space Station moving out of the Docks to the many corridors for the level he was located within.

Kept his wits about him remained alert and sharp Kas continued to explore the Space Station. Trying to uncover why the Force was leading him here. Something odd, no proper indications.

On his own despite his twin sister and younger brother were wanting him to let the pair tag along. It wasn't until he realized that his ship doors sounded off again. A sigh escaped from his mouth. They did follow him; Caden and Seri managed to sneak on board his ship unnoticed.

"Alright you two. I knew you weren't letting go out here alone. Might as well join me." Kas said.

Caden was more of a Jedi Consular, Jedi Sage classed type of Jedi. He hurried along to be by his brother's side and then Seri, Kas' twin sister, she had taken up the role of a Jedi Guardian, a duellist. Looks like the trio consisted of a Consular, Guardian and Sentinel quite the team.

"C'mon Kas. Since your last time going alone on Tython and ending up in a coma. Can you blame us for wanting to be with you and at least keep you outta' trouble?" Seri said to Kas.

"Yeah Kas! Sis is right. We're a better team together. C'mon." Caden followed up on what Seri said.

Kas accepting their points and sighed. "Alright. You've both made your points but we stick close to each. Any signs of trouble we don't get tangled up into it if we can help it. Got it?"

Caden and Seri grinned to each other then glanced back to Kas. Nodded their heads to him and returned a nod of his own. The trio of Jedi students made their way through the long corridor keeping to themselves while droids and some people on the Space Station watched the three.

The three Jedi Apprentices felt this strange pull in the Force. It wasn't revealing much besides to explore this Space Station. What could be so significant here? Of all places.

Walking onto the elevator, she pressed the following button, and it flashed red at her. They wouldn't be visiting that floor. Shrugging her shoulders, she noticed another group heading in her direction. For some reason, she held the door for them. Something told her they weren't native and were going to be joining them.

Three people. All of them were younger than she was, and two were considerably younger. Waving her arm in a friendly manner, she hoped to get their attention. They were all similar, so Iandre assumed they were family—possible siblings or maybe cousins.

Her men waited with her. On guard but not hostile. With their helmets on, they weren't showing emotion. She wasn't wearing hers, but she was looking friendly. She wouldn't say anything until they got closer. No sense in yelling across the distance.

Kas was leading the trio along through the corridor as Caden and Seri followed on behind him sticking close to one another not wander off. The three noticed another group stopped by the elevator to go to different floor levels in this space station. They got inside of it.

Kas and his siblings politely waved in response to Iandre as she held the elevator door open for them to get inside of. It seems the two groups were now going to form quite the taskforce together.

"Thanks for holding this for us. I'm Kas. Kas Larsen and this is Caden and Seri." Kas said.

He noticed this group weren't apart of any crews or teams he'd recognise. Although the Force rippled through and between them all. Not of the Darkside no. It seemed neutral which was rare.

Caden and Seri went to stand at one side of the elevator while Kas stood in front of them. Examining the men that accompanied Iandre curious but wouldn't be rude while wondering in thought.

"So what's your business here? If you don't mind me asking." Kas trying to stir up a conversation.

Dvyqx9E.png

The elevator was large enough to hold all of them comfortably, and Iandre gave each of them a nod as Kas introduced him and his siblings. He didn't tell her that, but they all looked similar enough to be related.

"I'm Iandre Athlea, but you can call me Ian. These are Moose, Childs, Night, Shifter, and Crash."

As she pointed out each of the helmeted men, they either nodded or gave a slight wave. None of them crowded around her, but it was clear they were guardians. She wasn't wearing her uniform, but she was carrying her weapons. Instead, she wore what could be grey Jedi robes. A lightsaber was clipped to her left hip, and a blaster was on her right. Her men had their blasters on their backs. All of them held themselves with confidence.

"It's nice to meet you all. It's easier to show than explain."

Taking out of a fold of her robes was an information chip. She plugged it into a small device, and it showed the video of the fight between her master and Zara. When it got to the part where he blew black flames out of his mouth, she paused it. Pointing at the flickering image, she gave him a few moments to look at it.

"I'm trying to find out about that. Learn more about him and his people."

Unless he wanted to watch it again, she put the crystal and device back into her pocket.

Kas stood in the elevator with Caden and Seri just behind him, close by too. All while accompanied by Iandre and her associates as Kas likes to acknowledge them as. He doesn't know that Childs, Crash, Moose, Night and Shifter were Iandre's guards.

He listened to the young woman introduce herself and her fellows to Kas and his siblings.

"Nice to meet you too. Looks like we're exploring this Space Station together hah." Kas chuckled.

Kas examined Iandre and her guards to get a sense of what they were like. All of them seemed friendly and had that confident presence within them all. It showed really well among the group.

He noticed the grey Jedi robes, the Lightsaber hilt and the blaster being on either of her hips. Next Kas spotted that the men accompanying Iandre had their blaster weapons on their backs. He wondered if they were expecting hostility while venturing this station.

Kas motioned to Caden and Seri to up their guard since anything and anyone could possess potential threats against them while here. He was being cautious and mindful.

"Huh. This is a first I've seen this kind of sentient species and those... Are those flames? Black flames? Who are those two Ian?" Kas folded his arms and hands over in thought.

He studied the duel between Laphisto Laphisto and Zara Saga Zara Saga this looked serious as well as dangerous. Kas and his siblings watched the feed being displayed to them. Concerned faces among the trio.

"So you want to learn more about him and that ability he used against the woman he fought?"

It raised more questions than answers for the time being with Kas. No darkness can be sensed among Iandre's group or herself. Why look into a potentially dangerous individual and on top of that a potentially destructive ability. Flames may create fires to bring warmth and light.

This ability however, the Black Flames didn't look as if there'd be any light in being produced but heat maybe. It seemed more damage focused than being capable of alternative uses.

Dvyqx9E.png

Childs took his helmet off when he noticed the kids had changed their position slightly. He was the youngest of the group, but still older than those two. His face was friendly, and he gave them a warm smile.

"I'll keep you two safe, just stick close to us and you'll be fine. I'm Childs."

Replacing his helmet, it clicked into place, and he moved a few inches closer to them. Unless they expressed that they didn't want him there. Either way, his stance remained relaxed, but his attention was now more focused on the young ones.

The recording was playing as he did this, and Iandre listened to Kas's questions. Pointing to the two of them, she gave him the answer.

"He's my master, Laphisto, and she is my friend, Zara. We are all a part of a government called the Diarchy. He is a race called Kiev'arian, and she's human. Yes, those are black flames. His race can blow normal flames, but this was odd, and I hoped to understand more of him, that ability, and his people."

If he were still reading her through the Force, he would be able to sense she was truly seeking knowledge and nothing evil. Her desire to know more was her sole reason for doing this exploration. It would also be neat to learn more about the station they were on, but that took a backseat to her first question. What was that skill?

The trio glanced towards the gentleman that removed his helmet off his head to reveal a friendly and smiling face. Didn't seem a lot older than them as they stood together. A reassured smile on each of their faces was briefly seen. Caden and Seri didn't mind Childs moving closer to them.

Kas on the other hand was closer to Iandre as they were discussing the matter at hand and her reasons for coming to this Space Station with her entourage of guards. No threats or darkness could be sensed through the Force as Kas did take precaution before engaging more with Iandre.

A hand rubbed along Kas' jaw as he was in thought about the ability Iandre's master used against a friend of hers. This was rather strange it looked quite dangerous and serious. The duel itself.

Now Kas had some data and intel to go with. Laphisto Laphisto was the master and Zara Saga Zara Saga being a friend too.

"Those flames do look dangerous. Hmm. Is this the first time you've seen those?" Kas asked Iandre.

"Nice to meet you, Childs. We'll look out for each other, yeah? Make it easier for everyone." Seri grinned to Childs as she glanced over towards him as he puts his helmet back on.

"Seri's right. We're better helping each other out. Stronger our chances are." Caden nodded his head agreeing with his older sister. Gave Childs a thumbs up of approval.

Meanwhile Kas was going through the information Iandre shared with him. The Diarchy government? He has never heard of this faction or organisation before. Maybe a totally different Sect of Force Sensitives. It wouldn't surprise him there are a few of those out there.

"You're from the Diarchy government huh. Can't say I've heard of it before 'till now. Your master and your friend. Are they alright since that duel they had?" Kas valuing others' lives.

Dvyqx9E.png

"Yes, it is the first time I've seen the flames, and I don't think it'll happen again. You never know, though."

She glanced over at Childs as he introduced himself to the younger kids, and she gave him a thumbs-up sign as well. Returning her attention to Kas, she knew her agent would watch them carefully. He exchanged a few pleasantries with him and resumed his relaxed but observant stance. When they got back from this mission, she would make sure to put a note of this in her report for Laphisto.

He is from an ancient race that is essentially extinct. Neither of us has encountered others of his race who are alive. He has faith that there are others, though. So who knows?"

Kas mentioned he hadn't heard of the Diarchy, and she shrugged before answering.

"I was not familiar with them either until one of them rescued me. You see, I'm not from this time originally. I'm from the Clone Wars and was a Jedi in the Grand Republic."

Glancing up from the display to look at him, Iandre hoped he would believe her. Once again, if he tried to read her, he would sense the truth of her words.

Kas briefly turned his attention to where Childs was as he introduced himself and kept close with the Larsen trio. The young Jedi Apprentice nodded his head to Caden and Seri relieved they were alright and comfortable. His mind reflecting back on Iandre's master Laphisto Laphisto on the Black Flames and his species.

Kas hadn't seen others like Laphisto in his times or travels within the Galaxy. Gives the impression of there is a beast that could breakthrough if control is lost.

"You don't think it will happen? How come?" Kas asked Iandre the answer left him curious.

"I can't say I have heard of your master's species or seen it anywhere else." He added.

When Iandre mentioned she wasn't of this time coming from the Clone Wars era and had been a Jedi in her normal timeline. It left Kas confused how did she go from one time to another ahead of her original one.

"Rescued? What happened? How did you go from one time to.. Another? Time travel?" Kas questioned not out of doubt but never having heard or seen such things before.

His instincts and senses around Iandre did guide him that she wasn't lying. All the details she shared so far with him was the truth. Quite a bewildering situation to stumble upon.

Dvyqx9E.png

It was going to be a long day, Iandre could tell. At least, Kas didn't seem not to believe her which was good. There was no reason for her to try to deceive the young man. When he asked if she could time travel, she shook her head back and forth, indicating that wasn't right.

"A ship I was on had its hyperdrive malfunction, and we had to get into escape pods. To keep myself from...well, panicking, I started meditating. I think I sailed through the cosmos for a while, and eventually my escape pod landed on the planet of Chiron. From there, I assume it was buried in the ground. The next thing I remember is seeing the faces of two people and the crew that dug out my pod."

As well as her emaciated body, but she didn't include that detail. The young children's ears didn't need to hear that.

"He told me he grew up on Ossus, and he took me to visit the world his people came from. All of its life was annihilated even before my first life. That's why I think he might be an endling. But he had hope that it wasn't the case. Oh! Why do I think this won't happen again? He has been battling for control of his mind and body, two of his gods. I think he finally defeated the one that caused the black flame."

Time would tell, and she didn't have that information. It was why they were here, and she was glad to have the extra company and another mind to help work on the problem.

Kas glanced and listened to Iandre once the two had established further trust between each other. Likewise with Caden and Seri being able to put some faith in new company that joined the trio.

Now he was learning about Iandre from her time as a Jedi in the Clone Wars era from the Galactic Republic history records known. Sounded like what Iandre had gone through was intense for anyone.

"Kept in your escape pod and under a meditation trance to keep yourself sane. Sorry to have asked and brought that up for Iandre. Two people and a crew got you out? The Diarchy?"

The planets mentioned by Iandre he only recognised one of the two. Ossus. Kas was certain that world was where the Skywalker Praxeum was founded in reading up and remembering Jedi Order history records. Iandre was referring to her master while speaking about Ossus and her life.

"Two gods controlling his body and mind? Sounds like there was darkness and light conflicting within your master. I hope he is alright and in better form. So another god cause the black flame?" Kas raised questions out of respect at the same time. All while learning more.

Caden and Seri were ready to help Kas but also to help the squad of guards and Iandre. They did overhear what Iandre and Kas were discussing. It didn't frighten them but had their guard raised.

Dvyqx9E.png

"I don't remember meditating, so it must have been exceptionally deep. It kept me alive for over 900 years. My master has said it's something like Morichro. I'm not sure how it happened, honestly.

"Yes, Gem and Zinayn. Gem is a Cathar with the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order. Zinayn is part of the Diarchy. The archaeologist crew belonged to Gem and the Alliance.

"I didn't feel like I was ready to be reintroduced to the current Jedi, so I went with Zinayn. I joined the Lilaste Order and the Diarchy. They are Lilaste Order men and travel with me most places."

Tipping her head at the troopers with her, she was also part of them and slowly going up in the ranks. With her next promotion, she might become Sargent, but she wasn't quite there yet.

Listening as he spoke for clarification and understanding, she nodded.

"Yes, his people have two gods. Saura'vix and Dra'ko. One is the god of death, and the other is life. To keep things simple. He and the Diarchy went to visit his people's planet, and he returned like that. It happened before I was discovered, so I wasn't there."

There was a report he could read, but would need to ask for it. He wasn't a part of the Order or Diarchy, so she didn't offer it to him.

Location: Outside Alliance territory | Diarchy Territory(?)
Objective: Find out why the Force guided him here

Kas stood in the elevator as it was travelling in the direction of the selected floor to begin their little adventure within. Continued to listen to Iandre as she explained her background.

Learning every piece of information in how she came to this time and Galaxy. Sounded quite the journey for one to experience. She must have felt out of sync and shell-shocked.

Mentally he noted the names being mentioned of the ones who found her. Along with where she ended up. Affiliated formerly to the Jedi Order of the past didn't feel comfortable in joining the New Jedi Order that was branched under the Galactic Alliance government.

"Hmm so both parties from the Alliance and Diarchy did discover you. Joined the Diarchy and Lilaste Order? Huh. First I've heard of the Lilaste Order. Interesting." Kas said while wondering.

Watched Iandre tip her head to the troops with her. Seems her order wanted to make sure she was safe and not at further risk. Against anyone or anything in her journey for now.

Kas taken back slightly when Iandre mentioned the two gods of her master's people had taken presence within his body and mind. Fighting for control apparently. All happened a long time ago.

"Hmm so your master went to his homeworld with fellow members from the Diarchy accompanying him and he returned in that state? That's a bit questionable no? Risky to others if you ask me."

With Kas commenting on what Iandre had shared to him about her master. It didn't seem quite right where an event like that was a possible, major risk to others. In his mind Kas always puts others before himself that was how he had been brought up by his Jedi parents. They were masters.

It was time to focus more on the present he deemed that the past for either party here had shared enough information. Allowed Kas and his siblings - Caden and Seri to continue on with intel obtained that can be useful further down the line.
