The Duchess and the Expeditionary Fleet

Greetings. ​

I am posting this as I meant to do so earlier in the week, however due to my Birthday and Easter being so close together, I had to push it back until this moment. ​

This idea is one that I floated by [member="Vassara Raxis"] in the PMs. ​

​

The outline of the idea was slightly hammered out, and there is a bit of work to be done still (mainly a planet and species submission that I will take care of). ​

​

The idea itself is meant to garner activity for not only the Expeditionary Fleet, it is meant to do so for the Duchess and the Avidonian Dominion as well. With the penultimate goal of creating a rivalry between the two factions. ​

​

In the guise of an interested citizen of the galaxy, using a middle man to remain anonymous, the Duchess would be sending a bit of funds (mainly credits, vessels, scientists, teams, etc etc) to the Expeditionary Fleet to discover undiscovered worlds in the Fringes of the Galaxy. This would be done for the sole purpose of the Duchess taking advantage of the discoveries later, all while under the guise of an anonymous benefactor to the Fleet. ​

Through multiple threads, and over time as these missions continue, the Fleet would begin to glimpse the face of their benefactor, and by the end the Expeditionary Fleet and the Avidonian Dominion would be at odds, each feeling slighted by the other. ​

​

The Fleet for being used by the Duchess and the Duchess for the Fleet taking her last payment and withholding the location and vital information on a few discoveries. ​

I know that Vassara had said there was interest in the idea, though I wanted to ensure first that there is a solid foundation to build off of before putting the work into a house (as it were) that would be left with nothing to stand upon. ​

If you could PM with a list of questions, I may be able to provide for precise information, beyond throwing out the overall whole idea, which may help in the long run. At this moment I've also a few notes jotted down for worlds, species and the like for the Expeditionary Fleet to run into, though I would have no problem collaborating for future ideas to broaden the core concept and push for a longer storyline. ​

I like the enthusiasm and hope that there are more members of the Expeditionary Fleet that would like to take part with this idea as it would be drumming up activity for both of our sides. ​

I am still interested in going forward with this, that is if there are those whom are still likewise, interested in the idea. While the past few weeks have seen my activity drop due to a few events that were out of my control, I am active once more. I would like to push forward, I just want to ensure that there are those that are just as interested. ​
