Public The droid assault on Nar Shaddaa | Open to all types and factions | PvE |

Introduction:

During the peace treaty between the Republic and the Sith empire, a hulking advanced battle droid kicks down the door to a hidden resistance base on Nar Shaddaa. The droid aims his wrist blaster at a citizen typing away at a computer and coldly orders him to submit to the Hutts, or he'll be removed. The unnamed hero smirks with a devilish smile as he retorts, "Killing me is just igniting the spark that will blow your whole cartel to pieces" as he presses his finger against a button on a remote; The droid opens fire and slays the man, but the damage is done and the ember is soon to turn into a flame.

Following shortly after, a global message is transmitted to every core and outer rim world, and to every spaceship worth it's salt. The news spreads like wild fire. The neutral world of Nar Shaddaa has been overrun by an entire droid army controlled by the Hutt Cartel. Republic and Imperial leaders decide to put aside their differences in order to stop a common enemy. People from all walks of life, from military commandos, and mercenaries, to devious scoundrels and spies, to even Jedi and Sith - they all come together to slaughter the droid army. Some volunteer for virtuous reasons; Others join the fight for more... selfish reasons.

Optional Objective 1: Storm the throne room
The Hutt cartel have set up their main base of operations inside of a fortified prison. They barged into the old Nar Shaddaa prison and took it over! The front entrance is the only way to get to the Hutts. The layout of the prison was repurposed into having four main rooms, and an additional, fifth room holds three thrones with power hungry Hutts sitting on them. Your job is to storm through the front entrance. Destroy the waves of droid guards and deal with the Hutts however you deem fit.

Optional Objective 2: Shut down the droid production
The Hutt cartel have repurposed an abandoned factory into a droid factory. There are droid guards everywhere. Your job is to get inside the factory by any means necessary and shut down the production line.

Optional Objective 3: Free the hostages
The Hutt cartel have taken multiple citizens as slaves and hostages. The open-air market on Nar Shaddaa has been repurposed into a slave camp where citizens are forced to work for the Hutts. Your job is to free the hostages whatever way you deem fit.

Aeron hears the iconic dinging noise of a transmission wanting to be patched through. He reaches over his ship's control panel and accepts the unknown transmission, expecting it to be another smuggling contract; to his surprise, it's an old acquaintance of his from one of his most notorious heists,

"Man, have you heard about all the chaos happening on Nar Shaddaa right now?"

"Unless the pay's good I'm not interested. I barely made it out of your last get-rich-quick scheme alive"

"Nah man, this job's legit. The republic is paying out credits for anyone who helps take down some droids, but what they don't care about is the Hutt's credit vault... Listen, while we pretend to be some goody-two-shoes citizens trying to liberate some doomed planet, we can use the chaos of the fighting to sneak into the Hutt's vault and walk away with riches beyond our wildest dreams"

Aeron pauses for a moment, before letting out a light sigh,

"If I don't tag along I'm sure you'd get yourself killed out there. Fine. I'm in."

"Good. You still have that earpiece I gave you from the last heist, right? Keep that in and I'll give you all the instructions you'll need. Head to Nar Shaddaa. I know you don't need any coordinates you've done enough deals there by now to know the place."

Aeron docks his ship inside a spacesport. As he takes a step outside his ship and assesses his surroundings he quickly catches glimpses of numerous Jedi, sith, and mercenary types. Shortly after Aeron gets approached by a petty officer,

"Are you here to assist with the defense?"

"Yeah, sure. Whatever. Just point me towards the enemy and I'll shoot"

The petty officer pauses, and searches through a small backpack and pulls out a datapad containing information about the suggested plans-of-action for the militia,

"Here: This datapad has all the information you'll need" he says as he walks off to greet another group of people.

Aeron places his hand against his earpiece,

"Alright. I'm on Nar Shaddaa. What next?"

"You have to make your way to the droid production factory. Inside there is a separate room with a terminal that holds the access codes to the vault"

"You expect me to take down an entire factory filled with droids alone?"

"No, no. You'll have some help from the locals. Plus the droids detection skills aren't enough against your stealth skills."

"This better be damn worth it," Aeron remarks as he walks out of the spaceport.

Walking down an empty Nar Shaddaa street, Aeron couldn't help but notice the lack of sentient life roaming around. Nar Shaddaa was a busling city stuck in the center of the galaxy. Security forces, gangsters, and just regular citizens trying to go about their day would be roaming around... but now, it's just an empty shell. Droid parts and blood lay shattered around the streets from battles between the two factions.

Just as Aeron's mind continued to drift he hears the distinct sound of blaster fire coming from the distance,

"That must be where the frontline for the battle over the droid factory is" Aeron remarked to himself.

As Aeron approached the various troopers, he quickly doved behind some cover and pulled a grenade from his coat pocket. With a hail mary throw he lobbed it over his head, and landed it directly in the center of a group of droids. The grenade's explosion shattered a few droids, and the rest were quickly cleaned up by the various helpers. As Aeron approached the entrance he flicked on his earpiece again,

"Alright, I'm entering the droid factory. Whats this special room supposed to look like?"

"Near the control panel for the droid factory, there should be a door marked 'security' you're going to have to find a way to open it yourself though"

Aeron hangs back as the others pass by him with their blasters ready.

The memorable sound of combat echoed throughout the factory, as waves and waves of battle droids came marching through. Troopers started dying, and a vile laugh is heard over the factory's intercom,

"You fools fell right into my trap. The droids near the entrance were just expendable pawns"

Just as the Hutt finishes his sentence, the entrance door locks shut. The codes to disengage the lock are deep within the factory. The door can be opened from the outside, otherwise. Aeron quickly activates his cloaking stealth field, and sneaks off. The battery for his stealth field slowly ticks down as the screams of the final troopers can be heard.

With the dead troops littering the floor, Aeron sneaks his way past the first wave of droids, and settles behind a crate. Briefly turning off his cloak, he takes a quick glance at the device and watches as the power for it regenerates. Aeron reaches into his pocket and pulls out a single metallic credit, and flings it across the room opposite to him. The noise attracts the attention of some droids, and Aeron continues through the factory slow and cautiously. Eventually Aeron comes across a corner, and slowly peeks around it. A hulking droid - about 8 feet tall - with shoulder mounted cannons, is set standing in front of a door labeled, "Security"

Aeron reaches his hand up to his earpiece,

"Hey, There's a droid here I need to get past. Any suggestions?"

"That's probably a XR-55. It's an experimental war droid fueled by isotope-5. You can't take it head on, but there should be a panel near the robot's backside that has a bunch of wires. You cut the red wire and the whole thing switches off."

Aeron quickly activates his stealth cloak, and sneaks his way towards the droid's backside. Gently, he pries the panel open, and as the door hangs loose the robot jerks around. There is nothing to be seen. Aeron slips away and pauses as the robot scans the room looking for an intruder. The stealth device's battery drops dangerously low, as Aeron continues towards the droid's backside once again, and quickly grabs a knife out of his pocket; With a single swift cut, a red wire is cut, and the droid's red glowing eyes drop dead.

Aeron disengages his cloak and starts picking the security door's lock with masterful tact. Inside the security room is a lone terminal. Aeron pushes his earpiece again,

"Okay, I'm at the terminal. What now?"

"The password is 'HuttParadise'. After that you should just look around until you find the access codes to the vault"

Aeron continues to click away at the computer. Once the codes for the vault, and the codes for the factory's doors are obtained, Aeron activates his recharged cloak and sneaks out through the front entrance. Aeron pushes his earpiece in,

"Alright. What's the next step?"

"Now that we have the access codes. We're going to need to get our hands on a 'Cartel identification card' - the problem is, this is only given to humans. Not droids, but lucky for us there are ex-cartel members being held hostage. Find one, dead or alive, and take their ID card off of them."

"Done."

As Aeron approaches the hostage camp, he quickly flips on his stealth cloak and quietly sneaks past a group of guard droids. Inside the camp there are numerous citizens with shock collars, but none of them look like an ex-cartel member. As Aeron's battery ticks down he quickly raises his hand to his earpiece,

"Hey, is there anyway I can find an ex-cartel member easier? This is like trying to find a needle in a haystack."

"Easy: Just look for a Gamorrean. Big, ugly, and mean things. You've been to a Hutt palace before, you should know what they look like, those guards the hutts always keep around with the big spears"

"Gotcha'"

As Aeron's battery dwindles, he spots a Gamorrean locked inside of a cage. Aeron quickly pulls out another single credit for his pocket, and flings it away from him to distract the guards; Immediately after he uncloaks and looks at the Gamorrean,

"Hey, don't yell. I'm here to get you out, but first I need your old ID card."

The Gamorrean responds in a language Aeron doesn't understand,

"You speak basic?"

"Yes. I collar remove first. Bomb in collar. Can't leave."

Aeron pauses for a moment to understand what he just said,

"Where can I find the key to remove the collar?"

The Gamorrean points towards an HK commando droid.

"Wait here," Aeron says as he looks away and taps into his earpiece again,

"Yo, how can I shut down an HK droid?"

"An HK droid!? You can't. their programming and hardware was made specifically to avoid being easily sliced. You might just have to take down that droid the old fashion way..."

Aeron lets out a sigh, and recloaks himself with his device again. As he approaches the HK droid he readies his vibro knife in his left hand, and takes out his blaster with his right hand. In a swift motion, Aeron cuts the HK droid's hand, forcing the droid to drop it's weapon, and immediately blasts the droid in his chest. The nearby droids turn to shoot Aeron, but before they can pull the trigger Aeron fires off quick, successive shots at the droids. The noise of the blaster fire alerts some nearby droids, but by the time the other droids get a chance to turn around, the only thing left is a pile of destroyed droids, a stolen key, and a cloud of blinding smoke, as Aeron reactivates his cloak and returns to the Gamorrean. He whispers to the prisoner,

"I got the key. Now you hand me your ID card, and we'll both be able to get out of here."

The Gamorrean complies, and Aeron unlocks the cage and hands the Gamorrean the key. The Gamorrean can be seen unlocking the cages and collars of other prisoners. A riot soon envelops the area. In all the chaos, Aeron makes a swift escape.

"Hey, I got the ID card, and I have the access codes memorized. Now what?"

"Now is the fun part. We make our way to the vault, and endless riches await us!"

With the ID card and the access codes in hand, Aeron made his way to the Hutt's throne room. Luckily for him, he didn't need to defeat the Hutts to get access to their vault - and he didn't plan on it. As Aeron activated his cloaking device, he began venturing through the former prison's labyrinth, slowly and cautiously sneaking past the multiple guard droids stationed throughout the building. As Aeron traveled throughout the prison, he came across his first obstacle, the cartel security checkpoint was manned by a single non-combatant droid, who quickly scans an ID card to check if it's legitimate. As Aeron deactivated his cloak and approached the droid, he was prompted to have his ID card checked. After a successful scan, Aeron walks through,

"This is easier than I thought", he remarks

"Don't get too cocky. There is still some security near the vault door"

as Aeron made his way throughout the building again, he began to hear talking amongst the Hutts; The sound was too distant to make out the exact conversation, but it was close enough to discern the noise. Aeron takes a quick crouch behind a pillar, and waits for his cloak to recharge to full. Once his cloak fills up all the way, he engaged it and started sneaking past the Hutts, where he overheard them talking,

"...That Gamorrean was supposed to be locked up. How did he get out?"

"I don't know, but after we quelled the rebellion, we couldn't find his ID card. We have our interrogation droids working on getting an answer out of him."

"A loose ID card is a serious security risk."

The smirk that ran across Aeron's face as he snuck right past the Hutt's and went into the next room over was unbeatable. Just as Aeron was closing in on the vault door, blaster fire could be heard far away; Aeron turned on his earpiece once again and quickly asked,

"What's happening? Why do I hear fighting?"

"Some mercs have breached the main entrance. They're closing in on the Hutts. You best get the treasure and get out before the whole place is swarmed with republic and imperial forces."

Just as Aeron hears those words, he arrives at the vault door, and quickly types the code into the door panel. The door slowly twists itself open, and the treasure revealed itself in all it's glory.
