In the heart of Bastion, the Diarchy's capital, life thrived under the vigilant eyes of its rulers, Diarch Reign
and Diarch Rellik
. The city's harmonious blend of reconstructed urban centers and lush green spaces reflected a society rebuilt from past and recent turmoil. Citizens moved through bustling markets and tranquil parks, their daily routines safeguarded by diligent patrols and advanced security systems.
Underneath the veneer of peace, the Hutt Cartel seethed. Their lucrative smuggling operations had been disrupted by the Diarchy's assertive policies, prompting Whottoomuzz Chantin
and his kin, Zavva Vosadii Moska
, to orchestrate a bold retaliation.
Their plan: to infiltrate Bastion and deliver a message that the Diarchy's reach had limits among the underworld, an ecosystem that thrived regardless of galactic borders.
At the spearhead of this covert operation was Jakharl
, a Gank assassin of formidable reputation, a cybernetically enhanced killer of unparalleled strength, agility, and sensory perception. To the untrained eye, he appeared as a spindly mercenary seeking employment; to those familiar with the underworld, his presence signaled impending violence.
Accompanying Jakharl was a cadre of hitmen, including twelve seasoned assassins, each a master of subterfuge and lethal arts: The Hutt Cartel's elite assassination unit, designated as the Deathmark Collectors.
1. Krexar: A Nikto sharpshooter with a penchant for poisons, his leathery skin bearing the scars of countless battles.
2. Gorruk: A towering Gamorrean enforcer, wielding a massive vibro-axe, his brute strength matched only by his loyalty to the Cartel.
3. Sskeer: A Trandoshan tracker, his cold, reptilian eyes always calculating, known for his expertise in hand-to-hand combat.
4. Vexla: A Rodian explosives expert, her green skin often camouflaged in urban environments, with a mischievous glint in her multifaceted eyes.
5. Durok: A Duros pilot and tech specialist, his smooth blue skin and red eyes concealing a mind adept at slicing and infiltration.
6. Nymara: A Nautolan seductress and intelligence gatherer, her head-tails often adorned with jeweled ornaments, using charm to extract secrets.
7. Kholak: A Kaleesh warrior-priest, his face concealed behind a traditional bone mask, blending spirituality with deadly precision.
8. Zarin: A Nagai swordsman, his pale skin and jet-black hair giving him a ghostly appearance, his vibroblade an extension of his will.
9. Threx: A burly Weequay brawler, his weathered skin and topknot marking him as a veteran of many skirmishes.
10. Lorra: A lithe Twi'lek acrobat and thief, her blue lekku often wrapped around her neck, skilled in stealth and infiltration.
11. Mordo: A hulking Houk bruiser, his thick hide making him a formidable opponent in close quarters.
12. Siv: A sly Devaronian con artist, his red skin and sharp horns often hidden beneath a hood, adept at deception and disguise.
Each member of the Deathmark Collectors has seamlessly integrated into Bastion's diverse populace, their weapons and intentions concealed beneath the guise of mercenaries seeking employment. The city's security measures, though stringent, are designed to welcome those offering their services, allowing the infiltrators to move freely.
As the Diarchs continue their public engagements, embodying the unity and strength of their regime, the Hutt Cartel's operatives position themselves strategically throughout the city. Their mission is clear: to deliver a message that even in the heart of their dominion,
the Diarchs are not beyond the Cartel's reach.
The day started like any other, without a sign of the gruelling trial that laid ahead.
"AH HA! Come my people, our world belongs to the free!"
A call has been made out to the citizens of Revelin. The Diarch - known for personally coming unto the streets of the city and creating firework shows, drinking with the people and sharing in the life of the world has come unto the streets after the attack from the Empire of the lost. Showing the prosperity and unity of their sector by providing a connection from the leaders to the average man.
Recently regulations had increased the security of the Braxant run and Diarchy space in general. As state sanctioned traffic laws have increased pricing on everything from average goods to luxury recourses the decision to revive the spirit of the nation was on the lips of all within the higher echelons of Diarchy society all the way to the brothers themselves.
The celebration was underway. The lord of the Diarchy was amongst his civilians in a business casual - slacks and white button up shirt. Talking, dancing and overall celebrating with his citizens that their independence was one built upon their own backs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the festivities were in full swing a more seductive figure among the crowd lured the man close. As the two danced among the frill of thrown flowers and glitter she began whispering into his ear "The lead wishes to speak to you" - Rellik understanding she was an agent of the "Network" their head intelligence agency and that she was under cover.
Moving to a nearby warehouse that was presumably bringing in metals from Muunilinst yet was an undercover operation for goods that were considered "Illegal" under new laws. He moved in with the aura that promoted the idea that everything here was according to his will. As all was going according to plan - the people free, the quality of life standardized and the world as a whole stable.
Director Agent: "My lord, we have had issues with shipments recently and wanted to inform you promptly." The man kneeling as he spoke. Giving reverence to his leader.
"Pirates? What is the word Director. Do not mince words, you are in the company of a friend." Rellik un-ceremonially lifting the man and wrapping his arm over his shoulder.
Perhaps one too many drinks had been shared amongst the citizens.
Director Agent: "We are not sure sir. Reports so far have left no trace. Professionals and men who understand the smuggling business are the only leads we have so far. Be on your toes to danger, we will be taking every precaution as well my lord."
"Proceed as normal, the attacks will only increase but this will give us a chance to catch someone who works for them. They will give themselves away, their intentions and wants will be made apparent through action." Giving the Director a pat on his chest Rellik would remove his arm from his shoulder and begin to walk away.
"I trust in your intuition. Do not fail us now, our citizens need us."
Now returning to the celebration among his people as if nothing had happened. The Diarch had stopped his drinking, just in case...

"Heads up, T Minus 5 minutes until we hit the celebration grounds," came the voice of Durokthrough the comms, the Duros with piecemeal cybernetics piloting the speeder van. In the back, was half of the crew, the other half already dropped off and approaching their destinations on foot.Zarkin rose to a stand next to Jakharl
, balance unaffected in the moving vehicle as the Nagai checked the placement of their blades hidden on their person.
"Got enough knives Zarkin? Sure you don't need another, just in case the first twenty don't cut it?" The Houk, "
Mordoteased. Unlike the calm Nagai, the hulking seemed nervous, perhaps because of their reliance on sheer strength left them with little to check over last-minute.
Zarkin simply tilted his head to the Gank beside him, daring Mordo to say something about reliance on equipment with the with the highest kill count in the Cartel's service this side of the core.
"Cool it, you two, we don't need your bickering drawing attention before we get close to the Diarch. If we're lucky one of them will already be drinking - wouldn't be the first from what I've heard. Might make them more... amicable to a private meeting."She adjusted some of the jewelry on her head-tails, making sure her outfit was in top condition"so don't ruin my shot, you thick skulled sleemo."She continued, playfully assuaging the big Houk's anxiety.
Meanwhile, in the midst of the event, Siv talked in a circle of celebrants, making friends, people who would remember him fondly as he drank nothing but water and joked around with locals. He intentionally kept distance from Diarch Rellik
, merely letting his Cam transmit footage to the team and otherwise building his alibi and rapport with the locals. He loved his part - for the most part he just got to socialize with a fake identity in convenient location. With a high-stakes hit like this, Siv would only be in the way if he was trying to talk to the mark directly. Leave that to Nymara.

Half the crew is already in position, TBD based on how the thread goes.
He'd been off the grid for so long, allowing Whottoomuzz Chantin
to run his Empire. For something as special as this though, he needed to be involved. They were about to send a message to the entire galaxy that the Hutt's were not to be messed with.
Behind him followed a protocol droid, his sixth in as many weeks. He got frustrated with droids, they were never perfect translators. They never got the nuance of exactly what was being said, the tone behind every word that was being used.
Zavva slithered in besides Whottoomuzz Chantin
and slapped his greasy palm down on the table. "They messed gee our poonoo che doe last tee-tocky. Ateema jee-jee teach hoohah do lesson. Sa everything noleeya position?" he grumbled angrily. The protocol droid behind him offered a translation. "They messed with our business for the last time. Now we teach them a lesson. Is everything in position?"
A slimy hand reached for the beverage that was on the table in front of him and he swigged it down in one. Jakharl
was one of the many boots on the ground and the responsibility was on him to ensure that everything went to plan there.
"Tell Je Jee-jee're ready Tah finish this." which once again prompted the protocol droid to step forward. "Tell me we're ready to finish this."
Jakharl stood in the midst of the hurtling speeder van, magnetic soles adhering him to the floor as the vehicle raced toward its final destination. If not for his counterbalancing swaying you might mistake him for a droid or even a statue, but in reality his stillness was more like a coiled spring or a Worrt ready to strike. This was the biggest job the Gank had seen to date, and even he could feel the anticipation crackling in the cab as they headed toward their target. A hit on the Diarchy this direct was a bold, but it was time for the Hutts to remind the galaxy who really ran the underworld, and that demanded a bodycount.
Of course wanton slaughter wasn't the plan, though the Gank sorely wished it was, the goal was to send a message, force these high and mighty Diarchs to the negotiating table. This wasn't a massacre, it was aggressive negotiation, and Jakharl was here as the Cartel's leading diplomat to make sure there were no further misunderstandings. He remained stone-still as he took one last look over the rest of the hit crew for this operation, motley but serviceable, as long as they got the job done. He let them get the last of their inane conversation out as the van pulled into position near the celebration grounds.
"Cut the chatter." He barked into his comlink implant before switching to the command feed. "We're in position."
He loaded a plasma rocket into his wrist launcher and ran one last quick diagnostic before the mayhem ensued. Green lights across the board. Under his helmet, what was left of his jaw curled into a sneer.

Tags: Whottoomuzz ChantinJakharlZavva Vosadii MoskaDiarch Rellik It was a peaceful day in Ravelin, a festival was planned to lift the spirits of their people after the attack by the lost.
Reign had been caught up with some trivial dispute between two farmers, and had been late joining his brother in the city.
It was his favorite thing to do, walking the city streets to see the growth and prosperity of a people at peace. A peace which had, sadly, been fractured as of late. Hence the need for the additional military patrols along the alleys and pedestrian walkways during this time of festivity. The Diarchs had deemed the safety of their people to be of even more importance in light of recent events.
The people understood, some even thanked Reign as he walked the streets, knowing that while the increased military presence may have caused some to balk, it was for the good of the many, so that they may be able to walk the streets unworried.
It was here he found himself, among his people, he had spied his brother returning to the crowd of people, his usual fiery mustafarian nowhere to be found. Thus piquing Reign's interest as well, it was unlike his brother to not be enjoying the revelry with their people.
Pulling out his comlink, he placed a quick command on the channel to his forces throughout the crowd.
"Commander, be on high alert, something doesn't feel quite right. Take the rest of your men and double up the spotters from our standard security forces, maintain a presence in all high traffic areas."
A nod of his head was all the response the Diarch gave, he knew they were watching.
Coming upon his brother he clapped him on the back and stood by his side.
The pair of Hutts gathered around a holotable, a fresh tub of live Klantooine Paddy Frogs and drinks delivered as they observed a tactical 3D view from collected data and markers from each of the assassins reporting their positions and cams.
Whottoomuzz zoomed into the speeder van, getting a closer view as the operation truly began.
"Agreed, We follow your lead." Replied Zarin, replacing his cloak to conceal the majority of the sheathes on his person.
Durokpulled the speeder to a stop, amongst many others and unhurriedly stepped out and opened the back doors of the speeder."Try not to out get kicked out of the party before the fun begins." The Duros said before, returning to the driver's seat. As the foremost slicer of the group, he would support the infiltration team to bypass security at the Diarch's quarters, which was no small feat.
Out of the van stepped the Kill team, under the lead of Jakharl, consisting of the Nagai Blademaster Zarin, Weequay brawler Threx, Houk Bruiser Mordo, and the most conspicuously armed, a towering Gammorean with a massive two handed Vibroaxe strapped to his back, Gorruk. It fit the stated purpose of mercenaries in search of work, but his strength was worth the visibility.
Nymara walked off immediately, putting distance between her and the rest of the group, her jeweled head tails glittering with the step of her heels as she waded around the corner and into the crowd, headed to meet up with Siv for last minute observations before she would try to get close to one of the Diarchs socially.
———
The Overwatch team was in position, waiting for the Kill Team to initiate. From an adjacent rooftop, Skeer, the Trandoshan tracker and Krexar the Nikto Sharpshooter scouted the celebration through the scope of his Dart Gun, training his sights on the approaching Diarch Reign
- careful to keep finger off the trigger, no intent to fire if all went well. Intel said the force users could sense the future, especially if intent was involved. Krexarhad specific orders not to fire unless one of their own were attacked first, even if it was impractical. A common measure when facing force users. The patrols of the Myrmidons appeared to have increased security once Diarch Reign
arrived. The Kaleesh warrior priest, Kholak, protected Krexar's nest from below, a little too eager to kill. A nearby myrmidon on patrol had the kaleesh waiting in ambush - armed with curved bone blades and, more dangerously, a lethal proficiency with the Na Jang style of unarmed combat.
———
The Infiltration Team, Vexla and Lorra waited near the the manor of Diarch Rellik
while Durok left the celebration grounds to meet them. Once they were in position, they would begin the most vital part of the operation, albeit the least lethal. A Death Mark token, a coin-like calling card in Lorra's possession to be left on the bed of Diarch Rellik
- with no witnesses. Vexla held close the detonator for the traps laid to intercept backup to the manor. A few breach detonators were reserved for any particularly stubborn doors.
———
Just before the kill team reached the fair grounds, Nymara adjusted her jewelry and outfit, then strode out with confidence to meet Diarch Rellik
grabbing a drink on the way. She intended to gauge his approachability as she set herself up to be an innocent bystander in danger when the violence breaks out - a damsel in distress for the Diarchy to protect, to attempt to use their reputation of regard they hold for the common folk as an opening. She was seemingly unarmed, but several of her jewels were soluble poisons, her lipstick and nails laced with Venom.
She waited for an opening, adjusting her posture and gait to seem more intoxicated than she was "Excuse me - are you Diarch Rellik
? The Holonews don't quite capture your presence"she asked with feigned sheepishness.

Arriving back unto the streets was grand. All was going according to their plan and today could not be better. Well, a good drink and another dance partner would certainly make it a little better.
As Rellik took in the sites and sounds a familiar presence could be felt coming up behind him.
Diarch Reign
with a slap on the back announced himself and came to stand at his side.
"Another beautiful day upon Revelin, no?" Rellik would do a slight dance. Mostly in a show of being a younger brother and loosing up his sibling. "Don't have such a serious face there brother, you look as though something is wrong. The people are free, ready to take revenge against those who wronged them. As the Empress declared them "Her people" all she has done is left no doubts in their hearts."
Taking a few gleeful steps forward, jumping in the air and clicking his heels before turning back to his brother again.
"The world is in lively celebration. You have your guards, now come. I need someone to wingman the old fashioned - "Have you met Rellik" opener" A boisterous laugh filled the air as he proceeded into the crowd. Practically pulling his brother in tow.
----------------------------------------------------------
Fully within the fair grounds now Rellik would take in some of the vendors for a moment. Thinking of something he might buy should a Naboo royalty ever come for a visit.
As the Diarchs molded back into the crowd a woman gently bumped into Rellik. Reaching out and gently grabbing her by the arm to ensure she did not fall, the two were now face to face with each other.
"Excuse me - are you Diarch Rellik
? The Holonews don't quite capture your presence"
She was a Nautolan. A species quite rare to see anywhere and this one in particular was dressed beautifully. Fine jewelry adorning her head and a festive outfit to match the events of the day.
With a bit of a staunch frame and cocky attitude Rellik quickly replied.
"I am" A soft laugh leaving his lips in response to her flirtish remark.
"Forgive me for getting in your path. I mustn't be so clumsy. Let me buy you a drink to make it up to you." A rehearsed playboy smile on his face. The comfort and welcome nature of royalty who is always being watched.
With the liveliness of the event the Diarch is in a mood of celebration. Ecstatic to have what he hopes will be beautiful company for the evening.
They got the greenlight, it was time to earn their credits.
"Kill team in position, all other teams on my mark. We're about to kick off the fireworks." That was probably going to be his last message over the comms for a while, once the party got started in earnest he tended to get a lot less chatty.
As the kill team rounded the corner to the fairgrounds proper, Jakharl took a brief scan of the situation before them. The Dorkies or whatever they called their bosses around here should be at the far end of the grounds from the kill team, overwatch would be monitoring them. That also meant their own elite security would be thickest at the far end of the party, and less chance of someone spotting them before the massacre kicked off in earnest. He further scanned the crowd looking for the best target to set off the massacre and his senses soon picked up the scent of alcohol drifting from a nearby stand.
Perfect, something flammable, and in big, pressurized metal containers no less. Its like they knew he was coming.
By the time his scan was done a few people had noticed him and the kill team lingering at the edge of the celebration, some looked confused, others distressed. It didn't matter to Jakharl, he just leveled the plasma rocket in his wrist launcher and fired straight into the refreshment stand, setting off an explosion of metal shrapnel and flaming booze. The screaming panic started, and Jakharl growled with delight.
Nymara slinked closer — not too close, not yet — and gave a sheepish nod to the Diarch's offer for another drink. "Consider it forgiven, I'm sure all the ladies here were looking for an excuse to bump into you,"
Nymara braced herself without letting up the facade as the plasma rocket led to a massive burst of flame and enough of a startle to believably stumble and take cover from the explosion - directly into Rellik's arms.
She let out a shriek matching the startled masses, playing the part of a distressed damsel. From a ring on her finger, she ever so slightly pressed an adhesive tracking beacon to the back of Diarch Rellik
's belt. A safeguard to locate the body - it was too soon to risk herself for the kill.
She let herself otherwise be directed, tossed aside, or protected as if she was any other civilian.
—
As the first of the explosions went off near the festivals, the Melee-focused killers split from Jakharl
and rushed to the patrol, rushing to ambush Diarch Reign
while the element of surprise was fresh.
Mordo charged into the Myrmidons like a bull, crashing into them and relying on size and momentum to clear a momentary opening, brawling and bludgeoning the armored combatants as distraction for the Nagai Blademaster, Zarin to slip past.
Slip past Zarin did; the Nagai weaved between blows mid-sprint to use the bulk of the houk Bruiser as a springboard, leaping over the patrol and brandishing a Vibroblade in each hand as he dove for Diarch Reign
directly.

his sense in the force warned him just before the explosion, but with all the chaos, it was hard to pin down the source. However, the elder Diarch did not need to wait long. Confused comms chatter from the Myrmidons and a sudden "BRACE" as a large being smashed into their line. His attention drawn towards where his men were trying to contain a massive Houk that had attempted to break their line.
Reign had almost missed the Nagai as he leapt off the back of the Houk, as he dove forward, the Diarch saw the tell tale glint of vibroblades in his hands. Eyes narrowing, he prepared himself for combat, leaping backwards and off to the side as his enemy landed with a strike that would have taken hewn the large man in half.
As he righted himself, he locked eyes with his opponent. His lightsaber not yet drawn, the Diarch beckoned his enemy to try again.
"Come now my friend, you'll have to try much harder than that."
The day could not be better. The citizens of Revelin roared in happiness and the Diarch had found something beautiful yet exotic to tie himself to for festival. The Nautolan slinked closer to him and she had a fun demeanor. Bringing a large smile upon Relliks face as he paid for a few drinks for the two of them.
"Consider it forgiven, I'm sure all the ladies here were looking for an excuse to bump into you,"
Some were meant to be the loves of your life and some are meant to be a lover for a night. The exciting woman Rellik had met today seemed to be the latter. A natural chameleon who fit into finding and taking what she wanted and he was the same. Although they shared the same sensibilities when it came to that complex chain of thought about partners, he deemed both were here to find a memory to look back on; not something to build towards.
As he turned to face her, his back to the majority of the celebration - he smiled and went to hand her a drink. As he did he looked into her eyes. The Nautolan species were known for their distinct features and their eyes were a certain aspect one could be lost in. Large, dark and mysterious yet somehow still filled with emotion.
And as his hand reached out he saw within those eyes - fear.
She pushed herself into his chest and let out a harrowing scream. As she did Rellik would take both of his arms and wrap them around her. Reaching into the force to increase his durability and provide an aura of protection around the both of them. As the alarms of danger within his battleworn senses wailed and the scars on his body ached in anticipation for new members - he felt the shockwave of a plasma rocket hitting the vendor stations near him. Goods and materials flying through with the occasional one reflecting off of his force bubble.
Pulling the woman he had just met apart from him he looked her in the eyes, lifting a hand off of her shoulder and pointing it towards one of Diarch Reigns Myrmidons. They were already engaged with some large combatant who was tossing them around like playthings but Rellik was a seasoned war veteran. He knew the general location the rocket had come from and he would find the one responsible.
"Go to him, he will ensure your safety. I will find you again and we can share that drink." Through all of his rage he gave her a comforting comment and smile. Hoping to ensure her memories of Bastion were not of suffering and fear.
"Now I must go and kill those who would threaten my people. Goodbye my dear." With a kiss on her hand he turned around. He did not have his saber or any other tools to enact his vengeance and he did not need them.
Rellik was off, using the force he leapt upwards to the nearest rooftop where he would now traverse to get closer to the originating spot of the plasma launch. He wanted to stay in the high ground and hopefully ensure the shooter did not take more civilian collateral damage with him as he made his way to the target. He did not know who the assassin was ( Jakharl
) But he was coming and with malevolent intent.
Zarin spun his blades with a flourish - he certainly had Reign's attention now. He kept his silence and stayed in motion, keeping the tips of the Vibroblades from becoming predictable. Taunting a sith or threatening a Jedi may prove fruitful, but these Diarchs were a foreign prey to the Nagai, not clearly of one side or the other to the Non Force User. Zarin made as if to finally reply, only to throw one of the Vibroblades and dash in - a feint of a thrust to check the lightsaber wielder's reflexes before leaping away with a backspring - not risking a single swipe of the plasma-blad cutting this dance short.
Above the flames and ensuing chaos, Krexar prepared to fire, waiting for Diarch Reign
to actually strike back before firing the dart gun, keeping true to the intent of the order - critical when dealing with Force Sensitive types, he had to remind himself.
Mordo continued to toss about Myrmidons with an increasing amount of wounds on his body, though his thick hide made it seem a trifle. Then again, the myrmidons' armor prevented the Houk's blunt force damage from causing any casualties among them yet.
While Nymara was being led to safety by Diarch Rellik
's guards, Siv took the fireworks as his signal to exit, just as the Diarch dashed forth to the source of the plasma rocket. Rellik's run was intercepted by a spear tackle from the Weequay Brawler, Threx, who attempted to grapple Rellik onto the ground and lay into him with a barrage of durasteel-knuckled fists.
The rest of the Kill team engaged the Myrmidons; Gorruk cleaved through a pair before taking a bolt to the chest, sending the Gamorrean stumbling back. Kholak the Kaleesh priest emerged from the shadows to ambush more of the guard, sickled bone blades finding gaps in the armor with uncanny acrobatics and muttering a prayer in his fervent fanaticism.
