The Dorm [Solo]

“I have a room.”

She laid in the bed. She had for hours. The thought still did not leave her mind.

“I have a room.”

She had a roof over her head.

The dorm was small, yes, but it was millions of times better than the streets. This was enough. This was paradise. She had food now, she had… a living.

It was incredible.

Still, the nagging thought was itching her mind. She knew she had work to do. She needed to train. She had come here for a reason. She was going to become a Sith Lord.

She had to!

Yet, right now, the concept of having a single room for herself enamored her. It was enchanting. She pulled thin sheets over herself and ran her hands along them. This was her room. She could hardly believe it!

She lay there for hours, eventually falling asleep…

Her eyes opened again. Instead of cold rain or trash bags, she was… in a room…

Then it came back to her. She was a Sith Acolyte now.

She at up, her thoughts suddenly speeding up.

She needed to learn everything! She needed to know where she was going! How dar she fall asleep when work needed to be done?

She bolted from the bed, her boots hitting the smooth, metal floor.

She ran to a drawer and pulled out a holomap of the facilities from the empty containment unit.

Aw man! Wait until I find stuff to fill these drawers wi- No! You need to learn! She puled up to the directions to the library.

She came back with books stacked way above her line of vision. Books on [link=http://starwarsrp.net/topic/146343-formation-and-early-conquests-a-comprehensive-history-of-the-sith-empire-volume-i/]history[/link] and lore. Basic studies of the Force were also present in the collection. Yet she knew she needed to start at the basics.

She spent hours at the table, absorbing the history of the Sith Empire and learning of lore she never had been able to as a street rat. She obsessed over the dates and reigns of every One Sith Lord. She completely devoted her mind to the works of her government…

… Then she woke up from another bout of sleep.

The next several weeks were spent in solitude, reading the ooks that piled up around her room. She took self-requested tests and kept taking them until they at 100%. She had the history of the Empire down pat and learned more about the Sith Code, as well as meditation and the Force.

She was reading one book which spoke of the basics of telepathy.

Clear your mind and give yourself up to the Force. Feel it, it penetrates everything around you. Use it, in the Dark Side dominate it. The power is within your grasp.

She sat in the meditative position. A book she had recently finished sat across from her. She closed her eyes, attempting to focus. She focused on the book, trying to move it. If the Force was all around her, she should be able to move that book with her thoughts.

She felt nothing.

She opened her eyes.

The book had not moved an inch.

She growled, biting her lip as her fists curled into a ball. She could not fail! How could she be a Sith if she could not move a stupid book! She glared at the book, willing it to move. It did not budge.

She finally lifted her hands and shouted. Frustration bolted through her body like a coal encouraged fire as she extended her hand towards the stationary book.

“Move it, you podoo book!”

The book sat there, mocking her. Rage stuck her like continuous lightning over and over. Each bout of impatience stronger than the other. She saw red as raw energy pulsed through her veins.

I am in control! Not you! I will control you!”

Her eyes briefly darted to the opened pages of the Force Guide as her side.

You are one with the Force. With the Force you can use power to rule everything around you.

Tears entered her eyes, “How?”

She looked back at the book she was trying to move.

She screamed. “How!?”

Center yourself. You must focus. Be patient, but never docile.

Focus.

Her heavy breathing continued as she glared at the book. She had to focus. She closed her eyes again, recalling that energy from the heat of her outburst. She focused on that. Instead of the book, she found herself rolling her need for control within her mind. She reached out to the energy, her thoughts dwelling on her desires for control.

“I need control.”

Red. The color red resonated with her.

“I have control.”

The energy grew in strength. She let herself drown in it.

“In the Force, I have control.”

She opened her eyes and extended her hand.

The book flew from the floor and slammed into the wall.

She gasped, surprise engulfing her as the energy depleted again. Watching the book as sweat dripped from her face, her breathing slowed as this newfound power sunk in.

She smiled.

As she prepared the plate of space waffles, she lifted her hand and called over a fork from the other side of the counter. It came to her. Another smirk crossed her face as she gorged herself with the processed yet delicious waffles.

She was getting better.

Growing stronger.

A holocron sat next to her, opened. A Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, spoke through it.

“The Dark Side is a pathway to many abilities some consider unnatural. In order to use the Dark Side, you must let go and let yourself surrender to the Force. You must dominate it, using its power to…”

Confusion plucked at her mind. As she chewed her last bite of waffle, mouth full, she considered the contradiction. How could she both let go and dominate? Letting go sounded scary, but domination was easy. How could she do both?

A thought entered her mind. She might need help from Sith at the library.

She shuddered. Should she? Would she appear weak if she came to them with any questions? As she swallowed the waffle, the holocron still playing, she sighed.

How could she progress if she could not understand the basics?

She closed the holocron and held it in her hand. She needed help.
