The Destruction of Precious Information

A large freighter entered low orbit above the planet of Anaxes. Inside the storage bay was stacks of boxes standing in excess of 10 metres, little space was left between these boxes and the ceiling. The industrial cargo contains were packed with various spices and a range of different chemicals, all of which were legal of course. Hidden amongst the shipments were a large array of weapons. The weapons were concealed within the containers to ensure they were not found during any random security checks when approaching the planet.

The unmarked, discreet vessel was actually property of the Orion Corporation, but for this job no employees of the company were present. Instead, the lacking crew was primarily made up of hired guns; mercenaries who were being paid to preform some dirty work that the Orion Corporation didn't want to be traced back to. As of yet, the team of mercenaries had been kept in the dark about the mission they were be preforming. All they knew was that it would likely involve combat and it would take place on Anaxes, obviously. They had not come into contact with any employees of the Orion Corporation so far, and didn't even have the first clue about who they were working for. That was the plan. Soon enough, once they were through the One Sith's security of the planet, they would be briefed on the plan and what would be happening.

So far the only contact the group would've had with each other was during the hyperspace jump from their meeting place to Anaxes. It would be recommended that they familiarised themselves with their team before the mission was in full swing, as this job was not a simple one and would most likely require an extensive amount of teamwork. If this team were not successful, like the ones before, the Orion Corporation would simply have to hire another. This would be no lasting problem. It was in the mercenary's best interests to succeed in this raid.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak had decided to go with his human coloration. He didn't particularly stand out... other than the mechanical frame encircling him like a cocoon, or the twin golden pistols holstered to his belt. Currently picking his teeth with a dull fingernail, he tapped in a few commands on a small datapad.

Having not said much till now, he decided to break the ice.

"So," he remarked. "Hell of a greeting party, eh?"

Kalyn was on the ship with her droid R7, she brings him everywhere, no matter the danger, he could prove himself useful, you never know. Kalyn had her armor, a blaster rifle, an ion rifle, and ammo. She was sitting in the crew area with all of the other mercenaries. She then heard one of the mercenaries say something.
"Yes it is isn't it?" She responded

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
The disguised-as-a-human plant smiled. "I mean, at least they could tell us where we're going," he grinned. "Jak Sandrow," he offered a hand. "Techie, pilot, smuggler, assassin, you name it, I probably did it once or twice."

[member="Kalyn Skirata"]

"Kalyn Skriata, it is very hard to define what i do in the traditional way, but i tend to go by bounty hunter, this droid right here is R7." Kalyn replied shaking the mans hand
"But anyway, i tend not to ask questions about jobs, employers tend not to like it." She continued

Growl sitting on the floor of the ship checking all of his weapons and equipment making sure everything was combat ready for when the group deployed heard the conversation between [member="Kalyn Skirata"] and [member="Jak Sandrow"].He pondered about joining in but decided it was best not to as the conversation seemed a bit personal at that point.

Growl finished clearing his final firearm which was his modified P-2 and thought to himself "I wish these damn things had more attachments".Growl would finish clearing the gun and light a cigarette as he laid back against the wall sighing as he thought about his father.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Well, I dunno... I prefer to know what kind of Sarlacc pit I'm throwing myself into," Jak surmised dryly. He coughed loudly, "especially with a P-2," he coughed again.

Dal stood quietly just outside the cockpit, watching the others scamper around the cabin. He had left his weapons and equipment buried in the crates. Their employer had ensured him they would stay safe there from Sith customs. He was dressed like a space hand, almost like he worked on the ship rather than being another hired gun. Even with how new he was to the business, this job didn't sit right with him. They were going in blind. He wasn't sure he liked that idea. Especially in possibly hostile territory.

Pushing off the wall, he looked at the others. A slicer, a bounty hunter, a heavily armored merc, and a dog he wasn't quite sure what to think of. All human or near-human. So he was the only one who looked different. In a galaxy teeming with life, there were very few beings who didn't look human around. It was strange.

"We've got mostly mercenaries and bounty hunters, plus a slicer. My guess is we're going to be destroying something. Or someone." the Devaronian chimed in, his features curling into an almost unnerving smile. "Name's Dal. I'm another hunter."

Allow me to reintroduce myself
Casey, or as everyone had been informed, Casca was in her wolf form, lounging on the ground, she looked up at the rest of the group and surveyed them. Once she was satisfied she lifted her head and spoke out loud to inform them of her presence, since her gear was already present in the room.

"I am Casca," She paused for a second, putting her paws in front of her so she could rest in a better position, then continued.

"And if you were wondering I can change back into a human when I want to." Being a Shi'ido had its benefits, to which she did not leave unused. She usually stayed in her human form so as to not intimidate people, but right now she felt wolfish, so she was a wolf.

That was unexpected. Dal was unaccustomed to shapeshifters. He had seen a clawdite before once or twice, but what [member="Casey Romarin"] was doing was entirely different. A dog.... that could be interesting. "Unless you plan to pretend to be someone's pet, you may want to change before we make planetfall." he commented. Shapeshifters. Go figure.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak nodded appreciatively when the she-wolf shifter spoke. "Always good to have a shapeshifter on board. And a Dev. This should be easy as cake."

Cracking his neck, he checked the cockpit. "Autopilot... Well... we should be arriving soon, no? I hope our employer didn't stiff us."

Interrupting the conversation between the team was a brief second of static before a holographic figure appeared on the desk which lay at the centre of the room. The hologram was completely blank and coloured green; whoever was behind this clearly did not want their identity to be revealed. Following the arrival of this hologram was the eruption of a masked voice which rung around the ship. "Good evening. I'm glad to see you have all arrived safely and have already begun with the introductions." The glowing man would allow the group to gather around the table before continuing to talk, "As for who I am, you can call me Green. I do not believe real names will be necessary for this job."

Growl not affected by [member="Jak Sandrow"]'s comment on his P-2 was acting as if he had not even heard him.Laying on his back when the hologram appeared he said out loud "Ah,a little green man we are taking orders from....sounds like a set up when you say we shouldn't know each others identity".

Growl would rise to his feet and step up to the table grunting as he walked past Jak.

"I wouldnt be so distrusting, normally setups have a lot larger paychecks, they try and draw in inexperienced fellows with ideas about how glamorous being a merc is, ive been setup quite a few times during my early years, they always had ludicrous paychecks, not that i ever got payed for them, might i add" She commented
R7 then agreed, though anyone who didn't understand binary wouldn't know that.
"But anyway "Green" give us the details." She continued

Once the two mercenaries had finished speaking, Green would begin to speak once again. "Well I can guarantee a very large pay check. 500,000 credits each, 250,000 now and 250,000 once the job is completed. Those who have personal accounts will be able to see that the money has already been wired, those without accounts will have to wait until the mission is completed." 500,000 credits was a lot for half a days work, and there would even be chance for this number to be increased.

"As for the mission itself. This team has been tasked with the demolition of a facility housing delicate information. The facility is located on Anaxes and has been abandoned since the One Sith's occupation of the planet after the Netherworld disaster." The hologram would allow the team time to ask any questions on this new information.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak's eyebrows rose, but that was the only indicator of his surprise.

500,000 credits. Per. ... This was rather important, then.

"Two questions." He stepped forward, fiddling with the quick release on his suit. "One, are the Sith aware of this information? Two, will we get a bigger bonus if we completely wipe the information, or if we copy it and bring it back to you?"

Kalyn pulled out her datapad, and pulled up here account, and was startled to see how much was in there already, she already had a small fortune (mandalorians are good with money you know) but the increase was not easy to ignore, she then put away the datapad.
"So we can be assured this isnt a setup, but i concur with Jak here, what are our risks of coming into contact with sith forces, but even then, will there be any combat regardless of the sith showing up?" She asked.

Casca stood up, still in wolf form, and left the room momentarily, when she returned she was in her human form and sat down in the nearest avaiable seat, just as the debriefing guy came on the holoprojector. She whistled at the amount, not needing to check her datapad to know her sum of money had risen considerably. Casca said nothing, keeping her hood up and leaning against the wall.

[member="Kalyn Skirata"] [member="Jak Sandrow"] [member="Jaccer Ramirez"] [member="Growl"]

"To the One Sith this facility is nothing more than an abandoned building, I doubt they even know of it's existence. Resistance one the to the site is expected to be minimal if existent at all, but this is Anaxes and they will certainly be alerted by the demolition of the structure and will most likely give you hard time when you come to leave." But this was not the only resistance the group would face. The hologram would pause continuing his briefing, "The security system of the facility is also still active and is on a state of red alert at all time, meaning that various levels of security will be given the order to shoot or kill on sight. Before any of you tech people get any ideas, this system has been made to be unhackable from the outside, you'll have to be at the central computer to shut it down. And this since there is 5 metres of reinforced concrete between you and it, you can just go ahead and forget about that."

The hologram would then move onto the second question. Of course it was about payment, it was always about payment. "Yes, if this information is gathered and given to us you will receive a 50% bonus. If you cannot acquire the information is it imperative that you destroy it."

As the voice finished speaking, the burst out from hyperspace at their destination. The planet of Anaxes dwarfed the ship as it edged closer and closer, entering the atmosphere.

Dal gave a low whistle. 500k was a lot. Sure, many of the bounties thrown around these days were about that high, but they normally were dealing with Sith Lords and Jedi masters. But Anaxes was the old Republic capitol, now controlled by the Sith. Security may not be as loose as they were counting on. The Devaronian frowned. He didn't want to deal with Sith if he could avoid it. But it wasn't like he could avoid the mission at this point. Still, this was getting ugly.

He wanted to ask where that kind of sum came from, but he knew no answer would come. If it mattered in the end, he may have to hire a slicer to trace it.

At the mention of security, Dal gave a small grimace. "Must be a good security system. What can we expect to find?" After all, it was best to know what they were up against.
