DESCRIPTION

Like an ancient Sith tomb overshadows the sands of Korriban, the headquarters of the Department of Law looms ominously within New E'y-Akh on Hypori. It is a rather innocuous, if large building constructed in the same style seen throughout the planet. Despite being plain, anyone visiting the building who doesn't work there is arguably about to have one of the worst days of their life. Aside from the many offices that house the bureaucrats of the Department of Law, the headquarters is also home to a number of hearing chambers. These chambers are where the Director of Law (or other appointed sub-Directors with varying specialties) interrogate high-profile individuals suspected of violating the laws and customs of the Techno Union.

The department also houses various security centers, droid security, a small armory, and ray-shielded holding cells for those determined to be guilty of particularly insidious crimes. The security centers are dotted throughout the building to facilitate coordination among the security droids and personnel. Most droid of the droid garrison is stored in the basement levels, as are the holding cells and armory.

Security procedures for entering the the Department of Law are stringent and carried out by droids that are not in the habit of compromising or losing the ability to be thorough due to fatigue and impatience. The Department of Law's screening procedures are roughly equivalent to those of most high-profile, high-income spaceports. The Department's current Director, Gerion Ardik, says this is absolutely necessary. he also says this while nervously checking over his shoulder, because he did think he saw Jacen Cavill over there a second ago.

HISTORY

Following yet another dramatic reshuffling of factional power, the Techno Union established itself in place of the Abrion Corporate Alliance. A new age dawned- one that would be facilitated by a new government and a new department of bureaucracies. One such bureaucracy is the Techno Union's Department of Law. It was established with the singular goal of ensuring the absolute obedience of Techno Union law on a federal level. This means regular inspections of planetary governments, committees for planetary development, other departments, and even elements of the Executive Council.

The department's first Director, Gerion Ardik, decided he would rather not have the hassle of moving his office on Hypori after resigning as Viceroy of the planet. Hypori's capital city, New E'y-Akh, was chosen as the site of the headquarters.
