The Demon's Training (Zaren)

Ah Kark... Was all Riuku could think when [member="Zaren Bouqi"] activated the droids. What Bishop was saying about the forms was starting to make sense of Riuku, but his thoughts were interrupted whenever the droids woke up.

Riuku quickly readied himself, holding out his lightsaber like a regular blade. Okay... Three versus one... how do I deal with this...? However he could not think of a plan before a droid was already charging at him.

The droid went for a overhead downwards slice. Riuku batted away the strike with his saber, and then swung to the robot's left. The robot wasn't slow, despite what Riuku thought initially. It managed to block the strike. Riuku kept pressing his blade against the droids, and then used his tail and wrapped it around his opponents leg.

He realized quickly he would never be able to trip up the droid with just his tail. Before Riuku could think of something else, the droid used his free hand and grapped Riuku's shoulder,
hard.

"AGH!" Riuku was thrown to the side, his tail having went limp from the pain of the droid's death grip. Hitting the ground, Riuku rolled sidways to gain distance. He got back up, quickly observing himself over in his mind to see if he was in trouble yet. I seem alright for now.

Until that point, the other droids had been staying still. Then, all three were standing in front of him. The two on the side ran forward. Riuku blocked one's attack, but got hit in the back of the leg by the other.

Riuku was kneeling when the third one ran forward. He was able to look up to see the saber swipe across his face.

Riuku was now on the ground. The droids did not move. Riuku chalked that up to the Jedi not programming them to beat a downed opponent. Anger was now fueling Riuku. Earlier, whenever he said that he wasn't "buff," he was right whenever it came to how Riuku appeared. He wasn't big if you didn't include the wings. But due to his years of slavery, he had became lean and strong for his size. He knew that he wasn't supposed to embrace anger, since he was a Jedi...

But what is Bishop thinking?! Pitting me against three droids... Riuku clenched his still-lit training saber and got up. The three droids stood looking at him. Riuku charged at the middle, and when the droid went to block him, Riuku put all of his strength into the blow, disarming the droid. Riuku followed up with a saber hit to it's head, knocking it down.

Flying up, looking down at the two other droids, Riuku thought up a plan of attack. He then dive bombed down behind one of them. It was all going according to plan. They were in a saberlock, Riuku was holding strong and-

That's when the other one jabbed the saber at his ribs. Riuku yapped out a "Ow!" before being hit on the shoulder by the saberlock droid's saber.

Riuku fell to the ground, drained. "I can't..." His body now carried a decent amount of burns and bruises.

At the point when Zaren had felt anger emanating off of Riuku, he had been tempted to call out or to stop the training session, but he stopped himself from doing so. He was curious to see how far his new Padawan would go to simply win against droids. To see how far he'd go to make a point, but while he did, Bishop took notes of his Padawan's fighting style.

"Huh." He muttered thoughtfully as he took down the one in the middle and flew upwards. The droids were certainly not programmed to be fighting an enemy that flew, so for the moment they simply stood there watching him, waiting for him to descend, and when he did they had been ready. He was curious to see how this was going to play out, and when he had been putting into the blade lock, he knew that [member="Riuku Morvol"] was done for. When you were in a saber lock, you were committed.

Then the fight was over, and he was on the floor.

"I've noticed." He said in reply to his incapability of finishing the exercise. "You fight with a one track mind. You only focused on one target at any given time." But he hadn't figured how his Padawan would've fared if he simply tried to defend against all of them. If he had lasted long enough he maybe would've taken note of the same motions being repeated, but as a Padawan he'd be getting tired while the droids didn't. It wasn't really a fair opponent even when you took in the few advantages you had.

"I'll develop your senses in the Force, and teach you Form V. I have decided."

Now he waited, no doubt he'd be questioned.

Riuku lay still on the ground, huffing and puffing in exhaustion.

"I'll develop your senses in the Force, and teach you Form V. I have decided."

After that fight, Riuku was too tired to question it. "As long as by the time we're finished I can take on these droids, then I'm fine with what ever you want to teach me"

Zaren stared at the winged beast on the ground. He raised a single concealed eyebrow, but he made his impatience known with his own exasperated sigh and placing his hand on his hip.

"You have to get up for that to happen." He said pointedly. His Padawan had relatively no stamina. He knew the training was going to be extremely long. "Tell me when you're ready."

Riuku sighed. Despite whether Riuku liked it or not, his new master was right most of the time. Standing up despite being sore, Riuku quickly stretched. "I'm ready... What's first?"

First he wondered? Hmph. Well he did say he was going to teach him Form V, but he wasn't entirely sure as to where to start with it. Did he throw him back to the training droids? It was certainly a decent way to learn the Shien component of Form V, and as he advanced through the tiers his own senses would become stronger as Zaren raised the difficulty... That was that then.

Pressing one of the other buttons on the remote, multiple flying domes took the air and started to fly around [member="Riuku Morvol"] and Zaren before stabilizing in the air around the Padawan and waiting for further orders, Zaren smiled slightly underneath the helmet. "Block the shots." When he pressed the activation, his Padawan would find that it was only shooting one small bolt at a time at him, at an easy pace.

This was where he was going to test out his Shien capabilities.

"Show me what you can do, again." He said as he pressed the activation key.

At least this time, Riuku was more prepared. At first he thought he was going to be pitted against the lightsaber droids, whenever [member="Zaren Bouqi"] held the remote, but soon found he was surrounded by flying droids.

"Block the shots."

Right... He picked up his training saber, reactivated it, and readied himself. He folded his wings as best as he could, and whenever the first droid shot, he simply dodged it, trying to see how the droids would attack. He did this two more times, managing to not get hit, and then put his lightsaber in front of him, vertical.

He put the blade between him and the next spinning droid, but whenever it shot, instinct half took over, causing him to flinch. The saber moved, and he took the shot to the shoulder. Riuku winced, but moved his blade back in front of himself, and when the next shot came, he forced himself to stay still.

It came at him, and it hit his lightsaber, deflecting off of it. Riuku took no time to be proud of himself, and continued this. After the first time he blocked, the droids seemed to make their aim a bit different, making Riuku have to move his lightsaber in time. It was pretty hard.

Out of the thirty shots fired at him, Riuku managed to block sixteen, and dodge four (Including the three he dodged in the beginning). The rest hit him in varying places.

Zaren nodded his head when his Padawan began to block the shots. He took note of everything mentally, watching every single movement [member="Riuku Morvol"] took. How he moved, how he blocked the bolts. When the bout was finally completed, the droids continued to float around awaiting additional orders.

"Move less. You're not meant to be dodging them, you're supposed to be blocking and deflecting them." Zaren counseled. It was clear that the dodges weren't meant to happen, a few of them were just flinches, twitching, or just actually being fast enough to react in time. He didn't know, he just knew that the winged beast looked silly doing so.

"Again."

This time he added on to the difficulty. He wasn't going to be letting Riuku leave today without a few bruises.

This time there were two dome droids, and they shot slightly faster than the previous encounter.

"Again"

Riuku noticed then that two droids were whirring in front of him, rather than the one before. He quickly readied himself.

The two droids began there barrage. Riuku was thankful that they didn't start shooting at the same time. However, when they did start shooting, Riuku still had a rough time. He'd block one, and then barely have enough time to deflect the next shot. He probably wouldn't have been cutting it so close if he had been completely focused, but he was thinking about what he read about Form V. Due to this, he took a considerable amount of shots.

Two different variations... one for combating blasters, one for lightsabers... from what he had read about the blaster variation, Shien, is that not only was it used to defend, but also to counter attack.

He was quickly snapped out of this thought by a shot from one of the droids, which hit his left arm. From this point on he completely focused on defending.

This helped. Due to trying to figure out the proper way to counter attack, though, he sometimes took more hits than he needed too. His performance was still better than when he started.

When it came to counter attacking, Riuku had a hard time. The droids kept moving, and Riuku kept trying to aim the shots back, but had no real knowledge.

Too high... Too low...

Finally, he started to associate where his lightsaber deflected blasts if he held it a certain way. Using this, and timing, he managed to hit the side of one of the droids after about fifteen tries. It deactivates.

It doesn't take too long after that for Riuku to take the second one down, since he only had to worry about that one attacking.

He lost count how many times he was hit, and how many times he deflected.
