Strengths:
As with any lightsaber, it can cut through many materials with relative ease.
The darksaber has a shorter blade than most lightsabers and is correspondingly quicker and easier to wield (as with a standard shoto blade).
The blade is drawn to lightsabers, allowing for better parrying of lightsabers.
The blades power level based off wielders thoughts and emotions, it can exceed normal lightsaber cutting abilities if the wielder is motivated enough, when doing so, it demonstrates a characteristic ‘electrical crackle’ effect.*
Weaknesses:
As with all lightsabers pure cortosis will short the blade if brought into contact.
Complete immersion in water will short the blade.
The darksaber has a shorter blade than most lightsabers, with correspondingly less reach.
The power level is based off wielders thoughts and emotions – attacking these, causing the wielder doubt or mental distress will weaken the blades cutting force.*
*This power cannot be used to cut through lightsaber resistant materials without the approval of the other writer, conversely, the blade cannot be dramatically weakened without the permission of the wielder of the blade. It is a storytelling tool, not a superpower.
DESCRIPTION

Crafted in ages past by Tarre Vizsla, reclaimed from the Jedi temple by Clan Vizsla and used to unify Mandalore, then later wielded by Pre Vizsla in his crusade to free Mandalore from the tyranny of pacifism, the Darksaber became the weapon by which his life was ended at the hands of Darth Bane, then later was destined to wielded by Sabine Wren and passed to Bo-Katan Kryze – former member of the Death Watch, leader of the Owls and then-regent of Mandalore to reunite the clans and free Mandalore from the Galactic Empire.
Found again in Mount Tantiss, reforged by Isley Verd, passed on with his will, reclaimed with his rebirth in the Netherworld Crisis, then passed on again to Mara D’Lessio Merrill who was forced to sell the blade when she was poor.
The blade then passed into the hands of Lord Ferro, a legendary Sith duellist who sought power and freedom through the art of the blade – until his life was ended at the hands of a Mandalorian who turned against her culture’s hatred of the force to ask a force-wielder, a Jedi, to teach her the way of the lightsaber.
The Darksaber is an ancient black-bladed lightsaber with a unique blade that was shorter than that of most lightsabers, and shaped like a traditional sword. Its hilt is rectangular with a hand guard and slit-shaped blade emitter. The sound emitted by its blade was also higher pitched than other lightsabers. The wielder's thoughts and actions guided the blade's current of power, with the blade often producing an electrical effect in response to a heightened emotional state. The Darksaber was also capable of parrying lightsaber blades, with them being drawn to each other in an almost magnetic pull.
According to Mandalorian custom, one could only obtain the Darksaber by defeating the previous owner in combat. Should they have claimed it any other way, their claim was considered illegitimate.
