The Darkest Day

Thew Vullen

The Force can be a Weakness
I see Actakos take down the men guarding the control center. He flies down the hall towards the center again and I see grenade he dropped. With one hand I shoot the grenade and the other I shoot my arm rocket at Actakos. If it doesn't hit, it's a good distraction. "Xil Nevin, Alexander Ontonas, the cyborg is still rushing the center! I am trying to hold him off, but he's not interested in me. He might be trying to shut down the turrets, they are one of our biggest assets." I help some of the men get up and throw one a stimpack. I don't need stimpacks but they look like they do. They're going to need every last bit of help they can get. "Make sure that room is secure! Try ion weapons to slow him down!"

Actakos can hear the missile come whirring towards him. He spins around and sends a laser blast flying into it. This destroys the missile and leaves a large cloud of smoke behind him. He then fired several blasts through the cloud of smoke in an attempt to hit whoever shot the missile. He then turned and flew back toward the command center.

Once he reached the command center, he was stopped by another squad of soldiers. Instead of shooting each individually, he drew his double bladed lightsaber and threw it through all the soldiers, and then blew a hole in the command center door and flew through, lightsaber in hand.

I see the lasers come through the cloud of smoke, and they are absorbed by my armor with no consequence. I see the red blur of a double lightsaber through the cloud and witness the explosion of the command doors. I run as fast and as quiet as I can and tackle Actakos and throw him against the wall. Then I pluck my one ion grenade and throw it at his feet. As it goes off I draw my two vibroswords.

Actakos landed in the control room and saw only a few people in the center, most weren't fighters. Then he was tackled from behind and an ion grenade was dropped in front of him. Fortunately, his armor was designed to absorb the blast and he merely started to laugh. "You just don't seem to want to give up do you!" He swung his double bladed lightsaber multiple times at Thew with his right hand, but his real target was taking out the turret control. He however didn't really know where it was, so with his left hand he started blowing up consoles and computers in an attempt to take out something vital. One of the things he managed to do was shut down the door.

The grenade does nothing and Actakos proceeds to blow up control stations, which I can't let happen. This is personal now. He has been running from me and I want to best him in a real fight. The people manning the stations run out open doors or hide in corners of the room. The doors are shut down when he blows a control station up and I laugh. "Haha! Now you're trapped in here with me!" I dodge Actakos's first strike and parry the next. (Cortosis swords) I swing with my sword towards his neck where the metal armor isn't protecting him. That should force him to focus on me and not the turret controls.

Actakos is pleased to have hit the doors. It stops any reinforcements from getting her quickly. All he had to do now was deal with this pesky fighter. He blocked a swing that came close to his neck, and then planted his foot right into his chest, sending him backwards. He then closed his cannon arm and grabbed his vibrosword in his left hand. "If you are excited about being trapped in a room with me there is surely something wrong with your mind!" He then swung both his vibrosword and his lightsaber at Thew, knowing he had to hit him with one of the strikes. At the same time he used his flamethrower to cloud his enemies vision.

I am kicked and I step backwards a step. Actakos brings out a vibrosword and I grin. This may actually test my skills. The cyborg uses the fire to try and blind me, but I can see his lighsaber as it swings at me and I block both it easily. The other sword clangs off my armor as I try to futily block it. I return the kick, along with a punch, using my height and weight to my advantage. I attack while he is recovering heedless of any damage I may take, as long as I dish it out.

Actakos is glad to have landed a hit, but is then knocked backwards. He staggers slightly, and then swings his vibrosword at his shoulder while stabbing toward his chest with the lightsaber. Afterwards, he jumps back and his wrist begins to spin very quickly, spinning the doublebladed lightsaber in a very fast circle and making it practically impossible to block. As he does this, he walks slowly towards Thew and keeps swinging the vibrosword.

Aester Novekki

Guest
The day had started out as any other would upon the militaristic day of Zenith Prime. Aester had awoken in a fairly shoddy motel; the rented room was the only shelter that the poor Clawdite could afford. She had come to this world to lay low for a short while, and to examine the local culture for the sake of adventure. It certainly hadn't hurt that the motel had doubled as a tavern, and that they served such a variety of drinks that it would bring a tear to the eye of a Zeltron. She had sat at the bar for a couple of hours, nursing a local drink with a yellowish hue, and vaguely analyzing the drunkards and alcoholics that populated the establishment.

She noticed a couple of patrons staring at her for a few moments, and decided against remaining any longer, the flickering sensation of danger flashing into her mind. She exited the structure, deciding to search elsewhere for work and entertainment. There was no doubt in her mind that people didn't like having Clawdites nearby, especially when they knew that they could just shift and vanish into a crowd. It wasn't quite like that though, not that the ignorant people of the galaxy would ever take a moment to learn. Shapeshifting was a painful endeavor, and it wasn't something that she personally enjoyed. The absolute only reason it was ever used was when she had work to do, or to escape from potential aggressors.

There was a sudden blaring as an alarm signaled throughout the Capital, sending citizens barreling out of their buildings and into designated shelters with remarkable efficiency; a surefire sign of their military familiarity. Aester had never been in a battle of the scale being advertised by the sirens, but she assumed that the civilians knew where they were going, and quickly chased after them in an attempt at locating safety. She could only guess at what the cause of the alert was, but her mind began flooding with all the possibilities: Sith, pirates, gangsters, or even slavers. The Clawdite shuddered at the thought of being enslaved once more, and determined not to allow that outcome to occur. She would sooner commit suicide then be driven back underground to dig for someone else.

The line of civilians funneled into a bunker, pouring into the dark duracrete space with determination. It seemed that it would act as a holding place for the various families and innocents scattered throughout the area, whilst allowing for the military personnel to perform their duties knowing their loved ones were safe. The heavy metal doors shut behind them, entrapping them in the bunker, and drenching the area in darkness. It was uncomfortably hot, and there was a gentle noise of footsteps and pressing as families shuffled throughout the crowd, spreading out in the surprisingly sizable structure.

Several minutes passed, and the thundering booms of enemy firepower could be heard outside of the bunker. A sign of something to come.

I was informed by Alex to join into the thread.

As the control room door blew, Strask watched the EMP mine do nothing to the behemoth. He sighed, but he had other plans. As the red saber flashed out, he sighed. Karking Force Users. He lept out of his hiding place, thanking whoever had replaced him for their cleverness. You see, there was a clever redirect he could do at the last console. It would buy him enough time to redirect it somewhere that could hold. "Natasha, can you hear me?" he called into the comms. As she responded, he cut her off. "We have less than a minute. Boot up the Protocol Five." She nodded, and Strask returned to working. As long as the juggernauts ignored the Bothan, he would be fine.

I knew my kick wouldn't do anything, but seeing my opponent spin his lightsaber I have an idea. With an immense swing I try and knock the vibrosword out of the cyborg's hand. With my other hand I lunge and thrust towards his spinning lightsaber using the power to stop the saber. With the other hand I attempt to pierce Actakos's armor.

Actakos' vibrosword is knocked from his hand, and the saber is stopped. When the next swing comes though, he grabs Thew's hand and holds it as he kicks him in the chest again. He lets him go as his hand transforms back into the cannon and he fires it straight at [member="Strask Ak'lya"]. He noticed him and wanted to deal with him before trying to get out. If he gave the Geonosians a way into the command center, they could do the dirty work for him. He then turned his fire back to [member="Thew Vullen"], in an attempt to slow him down.

I manage to knock the sword from his hands and stop the saber. Actakos kicks me in the chest but I don't feel a thing. I see the hand transform into a cannon and I try and slice it off with my free hand before he shoots anyone or anything. If that fails I try and split/destroy the saber.

Actakos is done. Close combat fighting is not his expertise. He dodges the attacks, grabs his vibrosword and blows a hole in the ceiling. He keeps going until he has an entrance to the outside and then lands on the roof of the building. "Commander! The entrance to the command center is open from above. Order your forces to take the center." He then flew back off toward the main battle in the front of the base.

The cyborg runs and I stand there looking to see if he does anything else. Seeing nothing I get on my comlink and speak to the commanders. "We got a problem. The cyborg blew a hole in the ceiling. We're gonna need some flamethrowers or something to block up that entrance. Where do you need me now?" As I speak I look around to see if anyone needs assistance.

Thankfully for the Bothan, [member="Thew Vullen"]'s swing threw off the cannon shot, which slammed into the nearby console and exploded. Unfortunately for him, as he typed furiously, his hand got caught in the blast. He screamed, grasping the stump of his hand, crouching down, just trying to manage the pain. "Bandage" he said, weakly, to the towering man. Stop the bloodflow. Keep him alive. He needed to shift control. He needed....

And everything went black.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nat was scared as she typed in the last command. Strask had been hit. The old man wasn't as tough as he used to be, and she wasn't sure if he would make it. Sighing, she transferred the controls to an old spynet base, hidden somewhere on planet. Sadly, the only person who had a good chance of finding it was lying on the floor of the control center, going into shock.

The last of the Geonosians approaching the armory were obliterated by the barrage of turret fire. The Muun pressed on the button allowing communications with central command. "I will see what I can do." He replied, swiftly working on overriding the standard controls to grant access to the defenses within the central command station.

His expertise and access could only get him so far. The central command's defense systems were locked by a complex encryption algorithm. Just as all hope seemed lost, he noticed a backdoor created by Strask Ak'lya when he breached the system. The vulnerability granted him sufficient permissions to access the encrypted data. "I need more time. Hold them off for as long as you can." Xil Nevin hastily snatched a data stick out from his small satchel, connecting it to the main console. The data stick is capable of decrypting most security encryptions. As the algorithm parsed through the security, the Muun made all the preliminary preparations to seize control of the defense systems once he gained control of them.

Actakos flew straight for the armory. The Geonosian swarm should be able to take the central command center. He had to take the armory, and the base would practically be their's. He simply avoided the incoming turret fire, unlike the Geonosians, and flew straight toward the entrance. He busted through and lit every soldier in his way on fire. He was no longer going to toy around with them, he was just getting the job done. He pushed through, using his cannon to clear hallways of troops and his vibrosword to kill anyone who got too close. Then he saw it. The entrance to the weapon storage. If he could spark the grenade or missile storage, the whole base would go off. Only problem as, he needed to get out first.

He decided to grab a bomb from inside the storage and wire it up to the grenade storage. If he timed this right, the whole building would go up in smoke and he would get away without a hitch. However, just when he thought it was going to be that easy, several more soldiers came in and he had to deal with them. He quickly grew angry and gave up on trying to blow the place, he was just going to kill everyone inside. He stormed through the building, until he came up on a muun.

Bane and the largest ship of his fleet were in hyperspace, heading towards a location where a part of a Geonosian Fleet. THey were apparently helpless, so Bane's ship went to respond to the distress signal. Bane paced back and forth, considering his options. Engage the fleet with cannons and turbolasers, or attempt to board their ship in full force. He didnt want to choose either of the options, considering the fact that the Geonosian's go shoot down their insertion technology within the second. He was simply in a pickle, and didn't know what to do. Welp. He had to come up with it fast, they were just about to jump out of hyperspace. He sighed, heading back to the ship control crew, before giving them a suicidal order, it was crazy.

"Let us crash, in the centre. We will bring the ship down via splitting it in half."

One of the crew women looked up at Hixas with a puzzled look. She was afraid that they whole ship would die.

"With all due respect sir.. it's suicide..."

"We will get through it, trust me. Be faithful."

The ship would exit hyperspace, charging full speed ahead at the Geonosian's largest ship. Bane braced for impact, grabbing onto a handle bar in the ship's bridge. Victory awaited them. Before he could say "Cake" the ship collided with the Geonosian's ship. They did it! The ship was split in two halves, but that didn't mean Bane's ship didn't take any damage. The sides of the ship were scrapped, the turbolasers on the sides were not functional, but they still had larger weapons on the tops and bottoms of their own ship. They would have to somehow make communications with the people on the ground. He stepped behind a communications officer and told them to make communication with the men on the ground, defending the planet.

"This is the Exouisian Fleet, see that Geonosian's largest ship in the sky? Yeah, we took that out. We took some damage, could you send some engineers and supplies?"

Bane clasped his arms behind his back, awaiting a response.

Xil Nevin pivoted on his chair, facing the bounty hunter who emerged at the entrance of the armory's control room. He pressed his hands against one another, eyeing the menacing man up and down. "How unfortunate you were able to penetrate the defenses with ease." He sighed softly. "No matter. You are out-gunned and out-skilled.. Against my better judgement, I will allow you to surrender and escape your impending doom."

The two elite guards beside him shot up from their chairs, aiming there upgraded E-11 blaster rifles at Actakos. Most of the men Finger left behind to protect Xil Nevin perished, but there were still about fifteen of them. They attempt to surround the bounty hunter from every side.
