The Dark Side of Ryloth (Invite)

Ultimatum nodded, the sniper was all set and he had turn a diagnostic on his radar systems to be certain that they worked. Everything was ready, or at least as ready as it ever would be given the circumstances. He wasn't thrilled with the situation, but he had to deal with what he had. He appreciated having so many people at the least, it made them less of a target for lone predators, though he doubted that anything on the dark side of Ryloth would care overly so.

"If everyone is ready. Let's head out." He didn't go in the front, as he knew that there were others who specialized in close quarters combat. Ultimatum doubted he could overpower much here, compared to most organics he faced these ones would be tough and strong. Having people with lightsabers and swords would be more effective than his own sniper in an ambush, which he half expected. If the creatures didn't attack them, he was certain that pirates would.

Animus stood at the top of a rock eyeing some distant lone Gutkurr with his Monocular, he saw the weapon [member="Ultimatum"] had and it look to him that thing could kill from miles.
Animus acted like a spotter "Lord Ultimatum," He signaled with his hand in the direction of the Gutkurr, "450 yards, northwest, precipitation is low, wind speed is 0.86 km, do you see it?" Animus focused his monocular to give him a reading of Depth, "Target is lone, about 10 feet tall, weak spot is in the eyes 452 yards now" The creature back off a bit still facing Animus' direction. He started counting down with his right hand. "Can you take the shot? wind speed picked up to 2.65 km adjust accordingly"

Ultimatum listened for a moment before lifting the sniper. Unlike an organic he could hold the weapon almost perfectly still, an advantage to not breathing. He activated the sniper's scope to thermal reading with an overlay of nightvision. This would give him an image terrible compared to a standard visual picture during the day, it was brilliant for the current circumstances and proved to be very useful. He could tell where the head was, but at this distance he decided that a body shot would be preferable. It wouldn't be a quick death to the beast, if the shot hit anything vital, but it would be more likely to hit compared to aiming for a much smaller portion of the moving target. The eyes would be a good target, but at a massive 410 meters thereabouts hitting the eye of even a beast three meters tall would be to push fate and luck far beyond any good reason.

The wind was heading Southwest-west. Pretty bad with the headwinds and pushing to the side. It wasn't as much a problem with the blaster sniper as it would with something akin to a slugthrower, but it would still cause some disturbance with the shot. He moved his reticle slightly above the head, as it appeared the beast was backing off. Further he aimed one degree west of the target, just to compensate for the wind. The headwind would push the shot down enough that if the creature decided to make a charge it would walk its tail right into the shot.

"Got it." Ultimatum said as he squeezed the trigger. What would normally have been a loud firing sound was subdued considerably by the built in silencer. Ultimatum looked through the scope a second later, seeing if he had hit the target.

Animus breathed out as he heard the small *puff* that was how the rifle fired. Because of that alone Animus was already liking Lord [member="Ultimatum"]'s weapon for, specific purposes... The Gutkurr figure in his Monocular which was a Scout Monocular especially designed for military reconnaissance was still hard to make out. Depth allow it to enhance the picture, the Gutkurr was down and Twitching, and the Monocular could detect no life or movement in the area where the large hump was laid.

"Hit" Animus laughed. "Damn nice shot" His monocular went back to his pack as he approached Ultimatum with an approbative gesture,"Never thought i'd get to go Hunting with you." he said grinning evilly, "After we get through all of this, i am going to need one of those!" Animus said pointing at the rifle "but it is possible to make a blaster version of it?" Animus inquired while they followed down [member="Damien Daemon"] who was leading the pack,.

Damien yawned, making it thae most dramatic yawn he had ever performed. This whole experience had grown to be a dreadfully irritating affair. What was the necessity of staying with this group?

He believed in his own abilities enough to be capable of taking the planet solo...

It probably was as simple as the yearning to have someone to show off in front of...
