Description: The Dark Diary is simply that, a diary, however unlike its lesser kin this specific book contains research notes on the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis with concerns to Sith Alchemy as well as some instruction on specific force powers that he was said to have possessed and may have taught to apprentices. Much of the diary appears to have been written by a main unknown hand however there are certain sections where the writing is a tad messy, incomprehensible, lending to the theory that others may have also been involved in adding notes after the demise of the original writer. Regardless of whether the diary had more than one contributor much of what is written about within can be used as a helpful learning tool.
Primarily the diary talks about Sith Alchemy, which Darth Plagueis was believed to have perfected, citing several unusual methods and applications that are not practiced at length today. Anyone reading the diary, especially someone already skilled in the art of Sith Alchemy, will likely come away with a better and more esoteric understanding of the craft as compared to what they'd known beforehand.
Secondly the diary offers some instruction on unnatural and archaic applications of the force. The majority of what is written is little more than opinion however the diary does provide proper insight into two force powers. Convection and Force Bellow. Both of which Darth Plagueis was reported to have known according to reputed texts. Reading the insight offered on either of these powers is usually enough to give a force practitioner the building blocks they require for a basic understanding and application of the power. The rest is up to them.
The Dark Diary is not a Holocron. It is not as vast or as powerful a learning tool as a Holocron and is bound by the extent of what was written compared to the larger repositories of knowledge that can be stored in the latter. Nonetheless it is a valuable learning tool.
